Eh I try but usually the only topics that ever get any discussion are shitty mainstream/underground rap, hip-hop, trap, and whatever genre they call it now and days.

nope nah uh. definately not me. i'll never be caught on this faggy board

I'm one of them, so 4.

Pick one, mainstream or underground dude.

And don't disregard an entire genre, ever. I'm seriously positive there are, at the very least, a handful of hip hop albums out there that you would genuinely enjoy. Like, go listen to Nujabes - Modal Soul

Surf PI Robin Dwarf?

You have no excuse now.

At current time, there is about 200,000 on Sup Forums right now. Around half will be on Sup Forums. So we have 100,000 left. 20,000 will be on the porn boards. We have 80,000 left. 20,000 will be on Sup Forums. We have 60,000 left, with about 65 or 70 boards left. Sup Forums has higher traffic than many, but is not after Sup Forums, Sup Forums, or the porn board in popularity. I am assuming it has a moderate popularity. It is a fair estimate that 3000-4000 people on Sup Forums right now. Thus, Sup Forums takes up about 1.5 - 2% of Sup Forums traffic.

Nah man I really can't get into any modern stuff. Bunch of friends like listening to School boy Q, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, Tyler, Kanye, Nujabes (mainly because of Samurai Champloo), Chance the rapper, and a bunch of others I just don't know the names of.

You're right it's not shit, but I just don't find the music as something I'd listen to by choice.

I refuse to believe that there's that many people on Sup Forums. I can't find a single redeeming factor in that board. I'd even wager it's even worse than Sup Forums in terms of content

It's everyone's first board m8. Eventually you grow out of it.

Gotta say, I really don't agree with their choices in what to show you to a certain extent, but that's fine.

What I'm more concerned with is, "I really just can't get into any modern stuff,"

Why? That mindset baffles me and the fact that you're even on a dedicated music forum with that mindset is even more baffling. You're not from around here, are you?

Every single high schooler in the US says they go to Sup Forums but just go to Sup Forums

I admittedly did it at first and enjoyed myself, and I'm sure a massive majority of this site's user base started that way too

I skipped straight to Sup Forums tbqhf

Nah not really. I lurk here and there. And I have listened to the stuff that seems to be FOTM here such as

Gave Danny Brown a listen. Nice beats, but god awful voice.

Now sure Death Grips is considered but I did not find them good,

J. Cole seemed kind of just another hip hop artist, then again I'm no expert of this genre. Kendrick Lamar too.

And believe me I do come with an open mind in thinking that maybe I'll find an artist that's listenable but I just can't find something I like at least in modern music.

I don't care that you don't like hip hop, that's past the point.

You don't like modern music in general? Like, is there a point where you can honestly say you don't like any album past a certain year? If so, name your genre and I'll try and help you out, cause that's depressing.

I never said that I don't like modern music in general. Just that I don't like modern hip-hop, rap, and whatever else they call it now and days.

In fact one of my current favorite labels at the moment is Innovative Leisure.

>Singles
Ok, not worth it. Have a good one user.

Stop saying, "Whatever they call it nowadays."

Not only does that just sound stupid, but hip hop, rap, trap, and trip-hop are all different things completely.

I post on Sup Forums, /lit/ and Sup Forums

You actually put whole albums on a playlist?

Well I don't know what they're called as they seem to change genre every couple of months. There was crunk, trip-hop, trap, twerk, experimental, horrorcore, and probably a bunch of others I'm missing.

Everyone on this board listens to full albums.

Crunk is shitty hip hop imo, trip hop is more dancy, usually intrumental, with dub, twerk is a fucking dance (are you serious?), experimental is an all encompassing term used across all genres, and no one on this board takes horrorcore seriously on this board. Real talk, you said horrorcore?

And no, it doesn't change every couple of months, new subgenres come out, just like what happened to rock from 1960 until very recently when rock got used up.

>Everyone on this board listens to full albums

That's quite the claim.

But anyways I do listen to albums since I did buy them before, and if I do happen to have favorites on an album then those go on a playlist. Not a hard concept right?

yeah I did, apparently that's what Tech N9ne is labeled as.

I'm seriously positive that 90% of the users here listen to full albums around 70% of the time. Lurk for like 20 minutes. Why do you think people here talk about albums and not singles? There are no discussions about singles unless they are already talking about the album.

You don't need to justify to me that you occasionally listen to full albums. And that's what Tech N9ne is, its horrorcore. But lumping horrorcore in with all those other genres is beyond ignorant with how its genre name itself implies that it is inherently different from all the other genres you listed. That's why it was jarring.

Seriously though, no one will take you seriously if you talk about singles on this board unless they are already talking about the album its from.

only occasionally now. the board took a turn i don't care for about 4 years ago so i only come for a few threads now

A lot of these posts are just albums that they listened to through this last week. I personally listen to probably 3 or 4 new albums a week. But I probably listen to 12ish albums a week, and I'm pretty sure that's on the low side for this board. Plently of people watch a lot of movies, television, or internet videos throughout the week. Mostly we just listen to music, and the most efficient way is to listen to a full album. That, and albums tell a story that a single can't.

There are plenty of reasons to listen to full albums, but the downside is time and my only options of things to do during an album are Sup Forums and video games, which I'm fine with, but its not for everyone.

>no one will take you seriously if you talk about singles on this board
daily reminder that rockists are retarded scum

Sup Forums used to be my main board but recently i've been on /vp/ a lot more lately
the only other board i frequent is Sup Forums but there is rarely anything notable going on there

i love Sup Forums and every bastard in it
