>Sup Forums will berate a mother for caring about the media her children will ingest and the effects it has on the way they perceive women/the world
but yo she weird bruh like jus listen to rap nigga its chill !
h9ly fucking shit dude
Who's berating her? Shits fire.
Oh stop being such a fragile white boy and have some fun
smdh senpai u right !! there's no deeper meaning to any of this, it's just fun! my bad g
I actually agree!!
I mean. The crying was melodramatic as fuck to be sure, but something can be said for how casually misogynistic rap lyrics are (not that rap/other genre lyrics aren't)
Oh theres a deeper meaning, they just dont involve your white tears.
not that rock***
i'm so sorry if i offended you in any way. please know that i have the words "black lives matter" in my twitter bio. i am on your side, i am a good white. please like me
I hear what you're saying but at the same time Vince Staples isn't really the best artist to illustrate this point. What she failed to take into consideration is that in contrast to true gangster rappers like 21 Savage, Vince is a conscious rapper who raps about gang life. He wasn't trying to glorify any of the things which he talked about in that song, unlike trap/drill artists and such. I can see how a young kid or a white suburban mom might get that mixed up though, so maybe she should avoid the genre and prevent her specific child from listening to rap until he/she is old enough to process it correctly.
Theres no need for hysteria, but sure, that couldnt hurt.
and yanks wonder why the world laughs at them
I swear if I see this bitch in the streets imma grab her from her hair because she's literally the most annoying thing ever and she's so fake and overreacting BITCH!!!!!!!!!!
if you live in a first world country, it's more than likely that you are a lap dog to the US and do whatever we say. that's truly laughable
contrary to what NPR or rolling stone magazine might say 21 savage is as much of a conscious rapper who raps about gang life as vince staples and vince staples himself would tell you that
if these god fearing prudes and boss hoggs spent less time bible bashing maybe they could teach their spawn some critical thinking skills
yo check it out im a nigger do nigger thing say nigger thing im a nigger fuk cop take no resposibility for nethign cuz im a nigger yeaaah
>Oh no, my children are being exposed to the reality of poverty in America and the relation of low socioeconomic status and crime which have been statistically linked over and over again in countless studies over the past few decades
I mean I can see where you might not want a young kid listening to music that deals with these topics but taking it out on the artist is just silly.
bah god it's not the wholesome family dinner table music that britney spears used to sing!
>They shouldn't be allowed to hear this! What if it inspires them to go do a drive and bye shooting! Violent video games and movies should be banned too! Let's not teach children sex-ed until they are in their early teens even though it has been essentially proven that sex ed taught from early primary school dramatically reduces teen pregnancy!
>little kids are able to conceptualize rap music for being the poverty inspired music that it is
>they wont just hear it as a glorification of drugs and the disrespect of women
Control what your kids watch and keep everyone else out of it.
Haha this is EPIC have an upvote xD
you and i both know that that is nearly impossible in this day and age

cam'ron knew what was up with kids and gangsta rap
also, are you so wrapped up in your hatred towards white people that you aren't able to reflect on the negative effects that your people's music has on society?
Conceptualisation is unnecessary. They are being presented with poverty and a product of it. No they will not understand the social commentary inside Vince Staple's music, but that does not mean they will take to the lyrical content inside the music as a good thing simply because it is satirically glorified in the music. Their reaction to the music will have far more to do with their close social and familial circles, and the values they have been raised with.
This reactionary idea that people are so easily affected by music is utter shite. People can think for themselves, they aren't empty vessels waiting to be filled by the ideas that music gives them. The truth is that if your child is going to listen to hip-hop and become a drug-addicted women-hating little shit, that's on you for not properly instilling values into your child.
You can't shelter them their entire lives, and if you raise them by locking them away from the real world, they'll only be left naive and maladapted to it when you can't help them anymore.
oh please who are you, tipper gore?
>caring about the media her children will ingest and the effects it has on the way they perceive women/the world
>by literally reciting the exact same fucking lyrics unsensored in front of her children while sobbing
I totally agree that sheltering a kid from any form of art you deem harmful will only bite you in the ass, but my main point in the beginning of this thread was people shitting on this mother because she was upset with the music she heard on the radio? Who are you to dictate what offends her, or what she thinks is appropriate for her children?
ol mary pat sue's kids were probably just enjoying the car ride and tune in the background paying no mind to it before they heard mommy enunciating the scary coloured man lyrics to them
Is there any proof of that though? Crime rates were WAY higher back in the 70s, 80s and early 90s. Rap (especially gangster rap) didn't really blow up until the mid 90s.
