Simple plot with a decent premise

How does this movie get no recognition but boring ones like the babadook do?

Presumably because it doesn't have any deep message and is just trying to be a good horror movie in it's own right.

Also it's a reboot.

reboot of a beloved classic.

remaking evil dead is like remaking ghostbusters for weird kids who kept snakes as pets and bought hundred dollar halloween masks

It may be a reboot, but i feel confident in saying its the best reboot ever made

Pls dont compare the Evil Dead remake to Ghostbusters

Jane Levy's stubby little legs are so sexy and she did that tree rape scene extremly well

As someone who grew up watching the evil dead, I was firmly against the remake. Gave it a chance after the trailer looked decent. Honestly, I loved it. Gore was plentiful. None of the cast was annoying, which was the primary flaw in the F13 remake, and the ending was awesome. Horrorkino for sure.

I liked it, it was pretty good.

She's practically a midget. A super cute one

The glasses dude was pretty annoying but they seemed to subvert it by having him get wrecked by every monster

People watched it expecting Army of Darkness.

I'm still slightly upset that the non-Levy deadites were so lacklustre, but I still enjoyed the film a lot for what it was.

It was fucking awful and you faggots only like it because it has your waifu in it. That movie was such utter unbelievable shit.

Why?

Yeah, any character with long hair, glasses and exudes a hipster vibe automatically becomes annoying, but he was pretty low key. Looked like a retard but at least he suffered

So the lovely people of Sup Forums like the film because it didn't get mainstream- or wide- success. How unexpected. But careful, film: if too many start to share this opinion, your luck might turn out.

This fucking board

These idiots will stick onto anything that makes me "contrarian"

You are a dumb person.

No i just like the movie

Even if that were true, it's still a genre where much worse shit (High Tension for example) gets undue praise.

>Demon movie
>unbelievable

I was really hoping for the junky chick to do something junky like, shooting up while possessed or something. It was a pile a bland nothing, 5/10

>mostly positive reviews
>$100 million box office
>didn't get mainstream success
it was relatively popular for a horror film

>Like something that's popular
>Fucking Sup Forums plebs
>Like something that isn't popular
>Fucking Sup Forums hipsters

No user, you're the cancer. Fuck off.

Unbelievable as in how bad it was you retard. So bad I couldn't believe it.

Yeah, but true to the guy's point, the three bigger horror films in the last years get a lot of constant hate on Sup Forums, and a lot of that has to do with "everybody likes it so I must hate it attitude"

Ok so how bad was it in detail?

It Follows? The Witch?

Those were shilled beyond belief on Sup Forums. Vile, obvious, care-free shilling.

>creepy fucking cabin
>blood on the ground
>bunch of dead shit in the basement
>find a book bound with human skin and wrapped in barbed wire
>open it anyway
>the words are in some spooky ancient language and written in blood
>there's also English in said book
>it says "DO NOT READ THIS BOOK OR YOU WILL FUCKING DIE"
>what's the worst that could happen?
>in big flashing neon letters it says" NO SERIOUSLY YOU WILL ACTUALLY FUCKING DIE AND IT WILL TOTALLY SUCK SO DONT READ THE FUCKING BOOK, ESPECIALLY ALOUD" in plain English
>read it anyway

That guy deserved everything that happened to him.

>he actually believes companies pay people to shill on Sup Forums
how delusional do you have to be, kek

Jesus what is a good horror movie to you then, since no one is allowed to like anything?

>all practical effects

Bruh, did you see the shot after the blonde bitch saws her arm off? The CGI is so bad it looks like fucking Roger Rabbit.

On topic of the movie though, it was decent but didn't do enough to set itself apart from the litter. The things you listed are good and make it a better movie, but the flat direction (shameful when you're remaking Raimi) wasn't enough to distract from the now standard, been-there-done-that premise.

Also the ending, arguably the strongest part of the original Evil Dead, is trite and dull. She has to fight a blood covered little girl? How many fucking times have we seen that shit? How about a giant monster like ED2 if you're gonna go that route.

I thought it was pretty sick, watched it in theaters. I like how it went for a more gritty realistic horror vibe than campy and a bit goofy.

Because while it avoids most pitfalls of modern horror, it offers nothing new nor remarkable to make a mark in the genre.

The trademark of Evil Dead movies have always been exaggerated practical effects. While the effects in the remake are certainly practical, they are far from exaggerated. The gore looks almost realistic and while that is an achievment on its own, it's not something that belongs into an Evil Dead movie.

Second, the abrupt protagonist switch in the third act. You spend a whole movie following whats-his-name and in the last act, it switches to Mia whose character development ended with being possesed.

Third, the zombie like deadites are nothing compared to the creepy, capricious and malicious originals.

Honestly if I found a book like that I would simply assume it's an odd prop. I would not think twice about reading it out loud.

Wtf did he read from the book? Glad he got stabbed repeatedly in the face with the syringe.

Also was the junkie the only one able to smell the rotting corpses in the basement because she clinically died before?

Redditard detected

Companies pay people to shill everywhere and this board is far from uninfluential.

I didn't say they were bad I said the shilling was bad.
Wow what a cool dog.

>Third, the zombie like deadites are nothing compared to the creepy, capricious and malicious originals.

This is a really big problem. The Deadites in the original movies were fun and memorable because they talked trash and seemed to absolutely love being evil. Lots of laughter and the like. The new Deadites are literally zombies, devoid of personality and presence, sans Mia.

Also the replacement of white contacts with yellow Halloween store ones was just an awful idea.

There was one cgi scene in this movie and i dont think that was it. I think it was a flood or something

because it was shit compared to the original

They get hate because they're uninspired shit idiot

This movie was pretty damn good actually. Easily probably the best of the horror movie remakes. Not an amazing movie but damn good and satisfying anyway.

No, she was just hypersensitive since she was in a withdrawal.

but they already remade evil dead once before

Worst part but also best part of the movie

>this board is far from uninfluential
if this is really what you have to tell yourself to believe you're not wasting your time on here, i feel bad for you

If I was in a shitty cabin filled with actual dead strung up animals being stored in a basement that is only accessible by a hidden latch that's chained shut and I found a book with a demonic face on it made out of human skin toned leather...

I'd burn that motherfucker and head back to the city.

Ah, makes sense.

Nothing suggests we should be superstitious about such things user, only movies. Relax :)

>one of the most high traffic boards on this site
>thousands of visitors a day
>hurrrr durr why would anyone shill here durrrr?

You are so transparent it hurts. Who do you work for? Or are you a redditfag that sees nothing wrong with blatant shilling?

>lol nobody would ever bother advertising on a free forum that gets millions of unique visitors a month

This board has so much crossover with the mainstream of the internet that you'd have to be literally retarded not to shill your movie here.

People don't post the same threads with the same images and the same text in the OP, week in and week out (but strangely stopping when the movie is no longer in cinemas) because they fucking enjoy it, user.

Get a load of this freak

>witch is good
no

Book technically doesn't burn. But yeah, I'd gtfo. I guess they set it up with muh intervention we can't leave

It got a bad stigma by the lolrandumb poopie Deadpoolers who are MUH BOOMSTICK XD and think Raimi's "shit on purpose" film was good.

It surpassed the original(s) and is the best of the series.

>don't be stupid goy, there is no shilling going on, nobody cares about your little board

>Who do you work for?
i'm seriously laffing right now

goodnight conspiracy user

Jane Levy has great legs, wish she didn't shave.

I didn't say they were good either. Jeez read the text of the posts don't just make stupid assuptions.

>>>/reddit/

If you didn't fap to the rape scene in this movie or the one in The Hills Have Eyes then you're the freak

My agency got paid to viral Henry Hatsworth.

We're also viraled many drinks/foods here but that requires more subtly.

No really, who do you work for?

SEQUEL WHEN

and leave Bruce Campbell out of it pls

Which board did you shill your food products? /ck/?

All boards.

Looks like they want the Ash vs Evil Dead crowd

bloody-disgusting.com/news/3352785/another-evil-dead-movie-planned-ash-mia-sdcc/

Explain the process. Also were you paid per post?

Degenerate

>he doesn't fap to rape
>calls others degenerate

Go back to >>>/reddit/ freak

this is either great or terrible news
really depends on who they cast

Thats gay

Your mom's gay, hairy legs are the best. She has such nice calves for it too.

Product had to be name dropped into posts logically.

i.e. Went and saw x movie and enjoyed a delicious y I snuck in.

A lot of dual viralling - tying products together.

No we're a marketing firm so we're salaried and get bonuses based on product sales/performance. We have quotas but pending the parent company it's either easy to meet or impossible to.

so that's the reason why everyone's talking about eating crab legs

Sometimes people just like movies and want to talk about them. You're driving yourself insane with this shit

Well Hillary Clinton spends millions shilling on reddit, and a lot of the big movies have budgets comparable to her campaign. Is it really so unbelievable that a few shills have come here?

I really enjoyed Ash Vs. Evil Dead, I just appreciated having a separate timeline.

It turned Evil Dead into generic cabin zombie movie.

The main deadite girl was fun, but the others just turned into gory zombies. The final confrontation was a bit of an anti-climax too, I'd have rather had some hell-goat beast than the weird skinny girl hobbling around.

You can't fool me, deadite!

>tfw no Levy gf being adorable

My heart hurts now.

It was meh

The gore wasn't even THAT' good like they made it out to be

Crossover with Ash NEVER EVER

why

Uh, what?

Suburgatory was gone too soon. That show had such a great cast.

>they will never turn the Felicity parody Jane starred in into an actual series

Life is suffering.

Also, the nostalgia goggles are strong ITT. This is probably the best horror remake next to Dawn of the Dead

Sorry user, this movie will never inspire a generation of wacky wannabe directors and practical fx/make up artists... just generic poo
