Sydney - Time difference + being 8 means that I watched remember very little of this. I do have memories of Denise Lewis and Thorpe in the pool. It was probably great. ?/10.

Athens - I enjoyed the romance of it being in Greece. Watching the wrestling in this Olympics was the exact moment I knew I was a faggot. Has to lose a lot of marks for how it crippled Greece. 6/10.

Beijing - Great opening ceremony. Amazing performance from the hosts. Really lucked out by getting Bolt's first wins. Nothing will compare to that first 100m Gold. Phelps' peak too. 9/10.

London - Great opening ceremony. Fantastic to watch from a British perspective. Very well organised after the initial ticket problems. My first Sup Forums Olympics. Just lacks that one iconic moment. 8/10.

Rio - Meh opening ceremony. Embarassing attendances. Delivered massively on the meme front. All in all probably better than expected. 7/10

London had a terrible opening ceremony but was an excellent games.

I was born in 1991 and only watched 2012 and 2016. I spent my summers playing football on the park before that and playing knock and run.

>Fuckin island monkeys man
Come back when you get over 25 gold medals in an olympics, mehmet

London was pretty good

>he was a kid in 2008

I'm 25 and don't remember Sydney. The first games i can remember were Melbourne; perhaps Athens

What's with all the butthurt about London?

I dont think there is much of a difference between Beijing and London but what gives the former the edge is luck factor in that all the major players had their most iconic moment in Beijing.

Athens was horrible, anyone rating that shit higher than 3/10 never watched it.

Berlin - 10/10
.
Athens - 6/10
Beijing - 8/10
London - 7/10
Rio - 3/10

stop replying to tripshits

Beijing seems to be highly rated here.

Can someone give me a rundown of all the best moments there? I seem to have a bad memory.

Beijing and London were great top to bottom. I guess what this depends on is the metric. There are a lot of functional problems in Rio, but if you take just the athletics themselves in a bubble Rio was top tier. It had pretty much anything you can hope for. Dominance of greats, upsets and surprises, and historical firsts for both small countries and long time powerhouses.

Whenever Beijing actually happened on this site everyone was openly mocking the Chinese and hated Beijing.

Some of the memorable moments were that they destroyed the houses of some 50,000 odd people to build stadiums. A chinese guy stabbed 6 american women. The people in Beijing were encouraged to recycle as much metal as possible and they had taken to stealing manhole covers and I'm several people died by falling into manholes.

I'm 27 and i only remember Rio.
Fuck.

Yes and a shitload of JFs were mocking London 2012 when it was happening.

Rio will be rated higher in years gone by after the shitposting dies down.

There were some crowd issues and the green pool is funny but overall the track and pool events were objectively more memorable than London 2012.

And the Weightlifting was top tier this year.

Rio is a solid 7/10

This, so much this. I don't really get all the Beijing hype. Only the Opening Ceremony was objectively great there. I also don't see anything in Rio that Athens did not have, when we talk about the organizational side of the games. Athens was amazing for me, too, and I won't give a note to Rio because I'm biased for being Brazilian and for the fact I went there, but it'll be much better rated in a while.

A redditor said it was the worst due to forced relocations and when I mentioned it happened in London too he downvoted me :(

Nah, Beijing's hype is that all the greatest moments happened there. They just had god tier luck with all these greats peaking at that time.

sydney: pleb
athens: good
beijing: patrician
london: absolute blunder
rio: bad

It's all good, the only people who would have lived in that part of london would be illegal immigrants anyway.

Oh, and kill yourself redditor

And i bet hes totally ok with katar workers dying in the thousands to build the world cup

Athens 10/10 all else 8/10

They rate it on the opening ceremony mostly and ours was cringe.

Infrastructure, ease of access and smoothness of everything go unnoticed by the common man.

Bond & the Queen jumping out the helicopter was good. They embarrassed us by desperately putting as many niggers as they could in it though.

> life was better when i was a kid: the post

Beijing, Athens and Sydney were great, each for different reasons though.

Rio had a lot of visible problems t2bh.

I must be the one person in this island that thinks London 2012 was kitsch and completely devoid of any olympic spirit.

Sydney is overrated purely because of the disaster that was Atlanta.

Lol don't even try to put Sydney on the same level as Rio..

Sydney are one of the top 10 goat Olympics.. Rio is one of the worst ever.

At least people attended the Beijing Olympics.. Rio was fucking dead in every single event except when bolt raced.

Shut up leaf.

Sydney: 7
Athens: 6
Beijing: 9
London: 6
Rio: 8

Sydney was no where near as great as people think it was.

Sydney was so shit as rio, admit and stop to cry.

>athens 6/10
>just 6/10
Gosh i mean Rio was bad but Sup Forums talks like was a abomination;

Its mostly shit timing. There was no way London was going to top the GOAT tier track and swimming in Beijing. Thats why it doesn't seem so memorable.

Had London come after Atlanta, most people would be rating it far higher.

>assie rating sydney higher than beijing
whoa, almost got lured there m9

Opening
Beijing (9/10)> London (6) > Athens and Rio (5)

Organization
London and Beijing (8) > Athens (6) > Rio (4)

Well why not?

Athens - 7/10 (vanderlei boosted it tons and tons)
Beijing - 8/10
London - 9/10 (mostly emotional, didn't have many highs, but it could hold into the consistency, and well I liked the opening cerimonyl
Rio - 7.5/10 (It just didn't clicked except from the titles)

Rio: 1/10

100% agree on the grades provided by this user.

As a small child I got to hold the Olympic torch as it toured my city, I'll always rate Sydney high because of the rush of experiencing it, though i believe it's still second to Beijing overall

2002 - Salt Lake City: 7/10
2006 - Turin: I remember nothing but Sweden winning hockey 4/10
2010: Vancouver: 8/10
2014: Sochi: 6/10

Beijing 7/10
London 5/10
