Prometheus

Why did he not just make a prequel to Alien?

Why this mess?

because le space jockey!! the le mystery i have to solve

also that guy is based af

It was a prequel to alien.
I really don't care about his damage control bullshit, its an alien prequel.

How is it NOT a prequel to Alien?

Theyre making another for 2017...

Prometheus was a mess because he stupidly let that Lost writer touch his script and ruin it.

Ridley Scott didn't want to make a prequel to Alien. He wanted to make a movie about Space Jesus, and how aliens get made over humans killing Space Jesus.

The producers didn't want a movie about Space Jesus, because that's a stupid idea. They wanted a prequel to Alien, because that would sell movie tickets.

So they compromised and made a movie about how aliens are mad at humans, the implication being they killed Space Jesus, and so the aliens also make Alien.

And?
That a series of prequels will exist doesn't make them any less prequels.

>because that's a stupid idea.

Not really. Strong evidence that asteroid/comet seeded life on earth so it's not that fantastic of a story. Movie would have been 10/10 if it had an actual writer instead of a hack.

Why was the enginer hostile?

>Why did he not just make a prequel to Alien?
>Ridley Scott didn't want to make a prequel to Alien

Scott intended to make a direct prequel to Alien. However FOX wanted to distance the project from the Alien series and brought in Lindelof. He basically molested the script and de-Alien'd it. That's what it feels like a disjointed mess a lot of the time.

>strong evidence that an asteroid comet seeded life on earth

There's literally no evidence that happened. Furthermore, that's not what's depicted in the movie. Furthermore, the whole concept of "panspermia" only dislocates the origin of life to some other location, it doesn't explain it. Furthermore, the Biblical myths of Creation and Jesus are two completely different and separated stories. Furthermore, we're talking about Space Jesus, not Space Creation.

What's wrong with jaegermeister?

its for 14 year olds who 'party'

one of the biggest disappointments of younger cinema history.

inb4 people defending this absolute turd of a movie.

Ridley Scott is 78 years old. story doesnt mean nothing to him because his mind can only cope with getting the visuals right.

>FOX wanted to distance the project from the Alien series

Do they hate money?

Because a he's literally a senile old man who has no idea what the fuck is he doing.

The fact the new movie synposis is just a copy and paste of Prometheus proves it. Give the fucking franchise to a director whose a fan of the old movies or just let it rest.

stop trying to appear intellectual you mong

>Do they hate money?

Either that or they must be fucking retarded. It shows how out of touch they are when they didn't anticipate the excitement for it when Ridley Scott said it was being made.

The waterhead studio execs thought that audiences would be tired of Xenomorphs after AvP.

It kills you and spreads your DNA all over the planet.

I don't know where you live, but here in EE 14 yo kids mostly drink rum ersatz

Stop trying to appear dumb.

Because he wanted to be deep.

>Strong evidence

There's no evidence. It's just one of many theories for how it could have started that ancient alien retards like to enlarge.

It's such a fucking meaningless theory, too. There's literally no meaningful difference between earth originating on our planet, or life originating on another planet and then ending up on ours through a comet. Because if it could happen on a different planet, and that life could survive on our planet, then there's nothing to suggest that life couldn't be created on our planet. It's just an added completely needless step because there's people who think it's more fitting or whatever for life on earth to arrive from an outside source.
