He didn't flop, he wasn't a good signing given they lost Eto'o. But his goal scoring record was world class for a while until Messi decided he wanted to play in his position.

>He didn't flop
>2nd most expensive signing in history at the time
>3rd most expensive Barça signing after Neymar and Suarez
>16 goals in 29 caps
>Sold the next year for 25 M €
It was one of the biggest flops in history

the defender poop signed from ukraine then sold a year later was worse
who

>this pooper perturbed madridista

Chigrinsky? He was just bought to laundry money. Ibra was supposed to be the real deal costed a lot and wss sold for 1/3 of what Barça paid

/thread

An almost 1 goal every two game ratio
>flop

Do you get your opinions from AS of Marco, Pablo?

Sjevsjenko was a bigger flop

>Manure fags saying Zlatan didn't flop

Amusing

>Do you get your opinions from AS of Marco, Pablo?
M8 it was the most expensive signing in Barça's history at the time and Etoo was sent off to bring him. It was a massive flop sportwise and financially.
Didnt he score a decesive goal to win the CL?.
Also Kaka was another massive flop

Who, quite literally?

You're all missing the point if this thread; the playing in the OP had a 30 million Euro buyout clause and he literally amounted to nothing.

>Didnt he score a decesive goal to win the CL?.
no, his famous goal was in the semi-final and it didn't even change anything

Pep Guardiola could barely believe his eyes. Sat on the Barcelona bus alongside friend, confidant and club colleague Manel Estiarte, the Catalan coach had just received a surprising SMS.

But this was no ordinary text. No. The melancholic message was from Lionel Messi. The Argentine, sat several rows back, was suffering in silence. Unable to express himself with direct dialogue, he took to typing and technology to get his viewpoint across. He wasn't happy.

These were early days in Guardiola's glorious governance: Barca had claimed an unprecented six trophies in a wonderful 15-month spell and everything appeared rosy for the Catalan club - at least on the outside.

Pep's second season saw Barca claim four out of a possible six trophies, but they missed out on the Champions League and the Copa del Rey. Behind the scenes, all was not well.

The exact wording of Messi's message is disputed, but the sentiment straightforward. "I can see that I am no longer important to the team, so ..." Unlike his perfect plays on the pitch, Messi had left this one unfinished.

Depressed and disillusioned, the world's best player was deadly serious. Two poor performances had led him to question his hero's role at Barca, but worst of all, there was a villain on the scene.

Atheltic put high clauses on all their players he was never sold for that

who is this? illarramendi or however you spell it?

>people saying ibra wasnt a flop at barca

then why did they sell him in like 1 season, for 1/3 of what they paid? for the banter?

It's Susaeta

Isnt he Amorebieta or some other overpriced Bilbao player?

i think youre missing the point of what a buyout clause is

Because Messi wanted to play upfront you mong. And Messi had Poop in his pocket.

He didn't actually go for €33 million, though, did he? That was the fee quoted in his buyout clause but Bilbao only ended up paying €5 million for him.

>Because Messi wanted to play upfront
The team played better that way. This thread is about flops, not why the player flopped. Ibra was the most expensive signing in Barça's history at the time.

Iban Zubiaurre

He was formed at Bilbao you muppet

Bilbao players always have retarded release clauses. Since they can't replace them with just about anyone due to their basque only policy, they might as well make it harder for everyone else to steal their players.

Zubiaurre, who represented Real Sociedad at youth level, was 'presented' as new Athletic Bilbao player in 2005 by the latter's president Fernando Lamikiz, despite still being under contract.[1] He had no permission to rescind his link, which had a year left to run and a buy-out clause of €33 million, and Real insisted that Athletic pay the entire amount, with the player not being allowed to play professional football during the subsequent legal battle; SCD Durango, a regional club, asked permission to field him, but were denied.

15 months after the lawsuit began, a judge ruled that Athletic had to pay Real Sociedad €5 million,[2] and were granted permission to field Zubiaurre for the 2006–07 campaign. He was presented for a second time at San Mamés Stadium on 16 November 2006, and was given the number 12 shirt.[3]

no he wasnt, he started at sociedad and bilbao signed him

No, he was a product of Real Sociedad's academy.

Bilbao signed him with a year left on his contract at Real Sociedad.

The buyout clause on his contract at Real Sociedad was €33 million.

Real Sociedad took Bilbao to court, demanding they pay the buyout clause in full.

A Spanish court ruled that Bilbao would only have to pay €5 million.

He went on to have a pretty shitty football career after the whole fiasco played out.

ibra didnt flop at barcelona because he played shit he flopped because he didnt fit into the system. its a flop on the barca part because they bought him in the first place - not ibras fault

Ibrahimovic had nothing by todo with him getting frozen out of the side. How is he a flop if he did what he was told to do and did it well?

it was still a flop. idk where you get this idea that it has to be the players fault to be a flop.

also,pic related, my entry

The team played better with Bojan. Ibra was a flop. He didnt fit with that squad as he didnt help defending and he wasnt the main offensice player

Ibra was putting up 0.55 goals per game in the league for Barca. He would have been given a second season at every other club in the world. He would have eventually have been considered a success at every other club in the world.

He was only considered a flop at Barca because he didn't fit into the most irresistibly brilliant team of its day. They expected way more from a striker than 0.55 goals per game. He had to contribute to the team aesthetic, to be a working cog in an irrepressible footballing machine.

Ibra wasn't so much a flop as a mismatch for Barca. It's not like he turned to shit there - he just didn't fit in with the dynamic they were after.

his normal hair is even juster.

Bayern. Not even once.

>outscored by fuckin pedro
>not a flop

kek

>people unironically claiming Ibra didn't flop at Barca
what is up with those nostalgia goggles? He didn't fit the team at all and was the main reason why they didn't win the CL that year. He is one of the worst Barcelona signings in recent memory.

I believe Bojan, Jeffren, Pedro, Messi and Henry all scored more goals per minute that year.

Ibra was a starter for the team long after he had already stopped caring. It was apparent to everyone long before Pep finally put him on the bench that the team performed better without him, he still started against Inter in both legs of the semi-finals, with what - a couple weeks left of the season?
And he was still part of the team when the pre season started, but the club decided to let him go for small money since he wasn't that useful for the team.

>this damage control

>all these manure faggots absolutely SEETHING and damage controlling for their newboy
