I have an Epiphone EB-0 bass and I really like the way the neck feels but I hate the SG body shape. Is it possible that I could but the neck on the body of a different (say P or J) bass and not have any intonation issues? It's a shortscale if that makes any difference.

As long as the distance between the nut and the bridge is equal to the scale length of the neck you should be fine.
However, it's unlikely that will be the case if you're transferring your Epi neck to a Fender/Squier body.

How would you typically play a blues shuffle in E when you get to the B?
I know it could be done by playing something like E|------------------------- B|------------------------- G|------------------------- D|--4-4--6-6--7-7--6-6 A|--2-2--2-2--2-2--2-2 E|-------------------------- but I don't have huge hands. I figured out a slightly easier way that looks like E|------------------------- B|------------------------- G|--------1-1--2-2--1-1 D|--4-4------------------- A|--2-2--2-2--2-2--2-2 E|-------------------------- but it's difficult to do it without fingerpicking
