wow, sad and empty

They will come

hey i suppose this would be an appropriate place to ask. i wanted to start ripping music from my computer to casettes. would this be possible? how easy is it? what tools do i need? thanks

Stuff from my own label and other local Denver/SLC tapes

where / how do you listen to cassettes nowadays? did you buy an old walkman, or...?

i always thought the cassette revival was nostalgic hipster bullshit (and desu still do), but my favorite label issues nothing but cassettes & vinyl nowadays, so.

I have a cheap portable radio/cassette player I listen to all my dungeon synth on.

got this two days ago. pretty cool.

Thinking of starting a bedroom cassette label.

Any tips my dude?

...

i got some shit ill post if thread is still alive when i wake up

Tfw you'll never find a cheap Nakamichi

Are tapes really cheaper to produce than CDs? I find that very hard to believe.

You need a Aux cable and a tape player which has aux output, and (a computer with) audacity, its as simple as that

Tapedeck Output > Aux > Computer

Press Record on Audacity and press play on your tape

cheers

Ah shit i thought you meant the otherway around, but it's possible, you just need a tape recorder which has an aux input, then you jsut do the same but in reverse.

Computer Output > Aux > Tape Recorder Input

On alibaba its 39-80 cents per tape, its 5-7 cents per disc.

Its cheaper to print discs

Danke

Or just audio out > RCA
Or connect source and deck to amp

It's easy
Only downside is that recording takes as long as the record itself

Yeah whats an rca tho

The red and white audio connectors.
Every deck has RCA inputs.

One Night Could Change Your Life by Fennec: fennecsound.bandcamp.com/album/one-night-could-change-your-life

Lol see i dont know shit about cables, im not of the rca generation.

So its Aux out, to Aux to Rca, to RCA ?

where can you buy dungeon synth tapes?

dig bandcamp
that's the answer for almost ANY kind of tape, unless you're looking for specifics

>Thy Catafalque releases Roka Hasa Radio and Rengeteg as double cassette
>wait a little so I can buy it later
>two days later already sold out

t-thanks

Check out my label anyone interested in indie pop and rock. Here's a pic of our latest release we have the tapes for.

HumanSoundsRecords.bandcamp.co

Just do it! Get some tapes and a tape recording deck!

do u hav n e bosdbung :DDD

Anyone else collect all of Chico's tapes?

What?

hi, i'm glad you like my music. would you mind telling me where you purchased that from? a link will suffice

niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice

he's asking if you have any post-punk ("bosd-bung")

Are there any advantages to listening to cassette tapes? I'm aware that for certain genres (black metal, noise, dungeon synth) that there is a certain feeling that can't really be replicated on other platforms, but I want to know if there is any other reason to invest in cassettes?

you'll look really retro and cool when you take out your tape to play the other side in public, that's about it. some people exclusively collect cassettes as a hobby just like vinyls and cd's, especially people that grew up with them, some like the aesthetic more because they're retro.

Oh nah hahahaha

A lot of small indie bands are only available on cassette physically. Vinyl costs way to much to produce

...

can you rec some dungeon synth albums ?

My Dad has a shitload of cassettes from when he was younger, most of them being demos for local bands and shit

How would I go about digitizing them in half decent quality? I know you need a high end cassette deck and sound card but I wouldn't know what to look for in both of those things.

bandcamp.com/tag/dungeon-synth listen to the ones will cool album art

alternatively, research:

Lord Lovidicus
Mortiis
Erang
Chaucerian Myth
Foglord
Effulvium
Alldrig
Deathbard
Cavernous Entrance
Hedge Wizard

Pirate radio tapes are always cool.

it's cheaper to make CDs, but nobody buys CDs so they end up costing you in that they will just sit around and you'll never recoup your costs.

This is the small part of my collection I have with me. The Dead Can Dance pictured is "Within the Realm of a Dying Sun"
She Past Away - I & II, bought it at their concert
Black Hole - Land of Mystery

If somebody asked me for "bosdbung" tapes and I ran a post punk label I would literally just say no

Cassette is a meme.

How do you consume your music, user?

Missing a few from my car, Person Whale is the only one I can remember. Mostly punk, some hardcore, surf pop, and ambient

JUst got the new homeshake and preordered the new mac

look for a tape deck on ebay or something like that

"haha look at these fuckers collecting something because it's fun"

Not much

Nice KPN you have there

Plus a few more in the car.

What'd you think of Fresh Air??

Pretty good but definitely my least favorite Homeshake album

Where'd you get the new Foxygen on cassette?

my collection. started in december 16.
>pic related

the clear, unmarked one is Yeezus.

Did you manage to get Fullmoon Over Faerhaaven original release?
I really want to start a collection

Pre-ordered mine but they're still in stock

So why have cassettes made a come back?

Vinyl is expensive. CDs can't compete with digital downloads. Cassette is a physical format that is very affordable and offers the quirks of an analog medium.

thank you my man

small collection so far

I have around 200 tapes I think.

Included in this pic are all the tapes I bought last year

My favorite labels are crucial blast, analogue worship, tour de garde, hells headbangers, and hausu mountain.

Holy shit I have that black hole album to lol

Analogue mediums sound better than digital for various genres, in particular when the album is recorded in a similar fashion and is lo fi.

Why would I want a digital version of a black metal album that was recorded directly onto a 8 track?

Lmao I just bought SWEAT S/T thanks for the free pin

nice collection!
>crucial blast
my boy

I also got that Scar Sighted on cassette. I'm really hoping that Wrest includes cassette in his LoC represses
