Nothing happens for two hours - The Movie

>Nothing happens for two hours - The Movie

I think this is the first time in my life that I sincerely regret watching a movie. I kept hoping that things would escalate, that it would get interesting but no.

plenty of michael bay type movies out there for you op, just stick with the crowd.

These threads are so incredibly pointless. You don't make any valid criticisms about the film and don't even really make it clear what you want to discuss. Stick to your GoT generals and capeshit.

I wasn't expecting any fight scenes or action or anything like that.
It just bothers me that this movie is completely devoid of anything. There is no sense of romance between the main characters. In fact even the characters seem to be just extremely bored.
No sense of unease, hope, fear, nothing at all.

Why does something "have to happen"? What kind of a retarded critique is this?

>tfw no qt vampire gf who accidentally kill you
;_;

>"accidentally"

this movie was pretention masquerading as art

Tilda and Mia are top qts. What else do you want?

My biggest problem with the movie wasn't the fact that nothing happens, I love a lot of movies like that, but the fact that all the references is really cringe worthy. It seemed like Jarmusch was trying to impress us by letting us know what stuff he likes. I found it very cringe worthy and eye-roll inducing.

>Nothing happens for two hours - The Movie

That's every single Jim Jarmusch movie, though.

That's what happens when plebs try to watch Jarmusch. You were probably expecting Twilight and were pissed when none of them got into a sparkle fight.

>even the characters seem to be just extremely bored

You don't say?

This is a pretty good critique. Still, it's comfy arthouse.

I like Jarmusch, but that flick from the OP truly fucking BLEW.

agreed. what we do in the shadows is the better neo-vampire movie

Why are they using the tannenberg font from national socialist germany?

I guess it was more or less about what happens to people that live forever. A more realistic look at it. I liked it

This film has an amazing atmosphere and the soundtrack is top-notch.

I think it's very realistic as far as portraying immortality. They don't have to do anything, just live their endless life and appreciate every single moment. For them neverending time is a blessing, not a curse. If you want a vampire movie with unease, hope, fear etc. there are tons out there. This was different.

Not that it's that great of a movie, it's good but not a masterpiece. But complaining that "nothing happens" when watching an arthouse flick makes you sound incredibly stupid.

what the hell happened to jim jarmusch? he made two great movies in the 90s and jhst continuous streams of pretentious shit before and after

And they all, without exception, suck dog dick.

It served as an incredibly homoerotic homage to Tom Hiddleston.

I haven't seen a movie that sneakily gay since Interview with the Vampire.

is "nothing happens" the new "pretentious?" this is the shortcut to criticism imbeciles seem to use around here these days. i've seen it often, mostly in Better Call Saul threads and those for art house films.

The movie is nice if you are into a hipster movie about the music industry sucking away your souls. unlike that other movie about deal with the devil I went into this expecting a legit vampire movie so I was mildly disappointed. its still comfy

its called melancholy
>There is no sense of romance between the main characters.
its not new love and they aint romeo and juliet.only lovers left alive are those 2 faggots they attack at the end of the movie.

>>Nothing happens for two hours - The Movie
Except Besides the main point was to show a more realistic, Gothic version of vampires - haughty, aloof immortals who look and act cool

ITT: plebs who can't into Jarmusch

While we're at it, let's discuss how "nothing ever happens" in Wenders films as well

this post was "pretention" (pretense, you fucking idiot) masquerading as bait

This thread is just babby whines about his first Jim Jarmusch.
