City of God?

I knew some pleb would come in and say the only south american film they know

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Elite Squad is top tier operator kino desu

You have to wait 15 minutes before you can bump your own threads

Inspector Big Fausto and The Malandro

apocalypto

>Mesoamerica is in South America

City of God
Elite Squad 1 and 2
Every movie with Ricardo Darin ever

>Mexico
>south America

Explain how a true born American knows more than you, spics.

Everything south of the USA is South America, retard.

el bonaerense.

Even The Rain

Cochabamba-core

DBZ dubbed by Univision

Maybe it's well known because City of God is kino that is accessible to even plebs

Amores Perros

Shitskins are all the same. Anything south of texas may as well be south america.

This. Plebs like it because of the plot and violence. Patricians like it because of the aesthetic.

Mexico is in north america.

My pick is O Pagador de Promessas, which is my favorite film of all time as well.

But some people say it's Terra em Transe, but I haven't watched it yet (will probably watch in this weekend).

shut up nerd

can't you see we're arguing about what is and isn't south america

Right answer here

I forgot about Black Orpheus, this one is also considered one of the best.

Deus e o Diabo na Terra do Sol

Shut the fuck up, nigger.

We finally have the upper hand against the spics right now.

I can't like this movie. The plot is cliché, there are some scenes (like the snooker one) are unrealistic. The only thing that saves that movie are some lines and metaphor, but most of these were already used and this movie looks more like an ripoff of the western genre but with a brazilian back story.

Not him, but it depends on the perspective.
I'm Brazilian and I've learned:

North America - USA and Canada
South America - Everything below Colombia (including it)
Central America - From Panama to Mexico.

Latin America = South + Central

This is our standard.

Argie here. I think our best is:

Los Simuladores
Mujeres Asesinas
Nueve Reinas
Relatos Salvajes

I wasn't impressed by El Secreto de sus Ojos, yet Julia Roberts' version still screwed up good time.

I am Ecuadorian and we learnt the same thing.

Some Mexicans get really butthurt if you tell them they are Central Americans tho.

Elite Squad is the best favela kino even better than City of God.

>le racism meme

...

Reminder that Chile is the only country worth a shit in South America

Even if it is now controlled by crypto commies

...

Reminder that nobody outside of Chile and maybe it's butthurt neighbors care.

Satanás, by far

well meme'd
this desu senpai
Why do all Latins engage in this empty banter? Every country is shit anyway.

directed by a frenchman

A Dog's Will, pic related. Pure kino. The main theme is catchy as well.

...or how a Cuban dude made the best Nouvelle Vague of all time

What a pleb. Can't you even recognize the good films out of your own nigger country? Do yourself a favor and go watch La Cienaga.

this, its so funny how they like to be called norteamericanos

It's a fact. Who ever said "oh wow, I wonder how Chile is doing in comparison to its neighbors". Very few people, if any at all.

Magic Magic

pretty good sci fi and phylosophical kino, a rare thing down here

I'm from Chile and I feel sorry for you.

I watched it already. I didn't say we didn't have any other good movies, just that those two are, in my opinion, the best ones we have to offer if I have to make a foreigner watch some of our cinema.

La ciénaga had a LOT of european involvement so dunno if I'd put it in this thread.

Hey Argies, was this movie good?
Do you by any chance have a download link for the novel? Thanks

me dijeron que es bastante mala, no la salva ni capusotto, deberia verla igual...

Oh shit, this looks like kino

Another Argentinian here and actually we're taught Mexico is NA.

Northe America: from Mexico to Alaska
Central America: Guatemala to Parana plus all the little island around that area
South America: Colombia to Argentina/Chile.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America

It was bad, but not ultra shit.
Interesting concept poorly executed 2bh

>sudacas
>making good films

>No Chacal de Nahueltoro
>Nothing by Jorodowsky
>Fuga
Jonny 100 Pesos and Taxi Para 3 are pretty based tho.
If anyone is in the mood to get all sort of feelings and maybe tears please look for "Largo Viaje (1967)" a great movie.

Also true kino from the country defeated by mano-del-inca; Central Estacion

Latin America in general:
>México
Heli, El Violín, Amores Perros, Y tu Mamá También
>Argentina
Nueve Reinas, el secreto de sus ojos
>Chile
Batalla de Chile, Machuca, Tony Manero, NO!
>Cuba
Suite Havana, La Pared, Clandestinos
>elsewhere
También la Lluvia, Cidade de Deus, La Jaula de Oro

These films would all be in my top 100 desu; Heli and La Jaula de Oro would be in top 10, EL Violín would be up there as well

>No Alea in Cuba
>No Brazilian section (most important south american kinè by far)

I only speak pretty basic Portuguese so I never got into Brazilian film to the same extent as I did the rest of the continent. Thanks for the rec though, this is honestly the first thread from Sup Forums I've bookmarked in the archive.

This is how I've always thought of it

colombian masterrace reporting in

why is he so perfect, bros?

la jaula de oro?
propaganda shit
also all but two of the films you listed aren't shit

El Topo

>Sup Forums is filled with brazilians

>Patricians like it because of the aesthetic.
You're a pleb.

THERE IS ONLY ONE ARGENTINE KINO

Best is Bañeros 3
Worst is Kryptonita
These are FACTS.

Stellet Licht was filmed in Mexico by based Reygadas.

This. Vidas Secas or Hour of furnaces are a close second.

Nice. Top tier cinema.
That dream sequence was fantastic, reminded me of Zero De Conduit.
Miguel Inclan is great in everything.

>his best movies were definitely not the south american ones
how does it feel to be so wrong?

pure kino

>Relatos Salvajes
Terrible taste. El Secreto De Sus Ojos is a masterpiece. Relatos Salvajes is a meme flick

>He renounced his Spanish nationality and died as Mexican
Nope.

Sudacas only make shit
