This is literally the worst horror movie ever made.
Why the hell is this rated so highly? It has like a 95 on rotten tomatoes and 83 on metacritic.
Its fucking laughable, literally, the effects are so bad (even for a 2009 film) and I'm sure they were made to be intentionally laughable, like that scene where an anvil falls on top of that woman and her eye squeezes out, looked extremely campy.
I get that raini was trying to go for "horror comedy" like evil dead but it failed miserably because the film actually has a serious tone, so comedy feels extremely out of place where its not unsettling but laughable. Also most "scary parts" weren't scary but just disgusting, like how the old lady suddenly becomes extremely grotesque when she breaks bad, or the part she vomits inside of the protagonist's mouth.
Jackson Flores
I haven't seen this film, but I watched The VVitch today and I liked it a lot. I thought of this film (which I haven't seen, and couldn't remember the name of). I guess you're saying I shouldn't see it?
Connor Morgan
Don't compare the two.
The witch (its fucking called the witch, not the vvitch, I get thats how its stylized but cant we just fucking call it the witch?) is an extremely atmospheric horror movie thats kind of a horror-drama. Whereas DMTH is a corny horror-comedy (made like that on purpose by raini).
I really liked the witch as well, its slightly overrated but still a great film. But dmth is shit tier in horror movies.
So dont say you'll like this film just because you liked the witch, that would be like saying you'll like the conjuring because you liked magic mike.
Zachary Bell
Tbh the only issue I had with this film was how fucking OP the curse was.
Like, it didnt took the old lady days of conjuring, it didnt took her a huge scavenger's hunt for extremely weird materials. The victim was only doing her job as well, she didnt had to make a blood pact of anything.
She literally just said like 3 words and gave the victim a button. Thats it
Thats all it takes to give someone the universe's worst punishment.
Because its not only a death curse, its a fucking first class ticket to hell.
That means eternal torment, only because an old lady was having a bad day.
I mean you could send the pope to hell with this thing, its ridiculously overpowered.

Wtf, desu.

Tbh, mate,desu, Tbh.

It really isn't literally the worst horror movie ever made. That honor may belong to Troll 2. But it's ok that you didn't like this movie. I honestly think it is average, and fairly fun to watch. I don't know why it is rated very high on those sites. Remember, movie ratings are based on individual people's fucking opinions.

Gypsies and Roma must be exterminated.
Hitler was right.

>I'm sure they were made to be intentionally laughable,
then why do you think the movie is bad? If it was made to be laughable, and it is laughable, didn't it succeed? Wouldn't that make it a good movie?
Bentley Young
>raini

>Roma
Now, now, it may be a little dirty but it's a nice town.
Joseph Thomas
I never understood why the main actress, Alison Lohman, didn't get more famous. She was great and really gorgeous.
Camden Morales
I've jacked off to that ending so many times
Adrian Johnson
If I remember right she got herself out of acting for a little while and didn't seem to want to go back in particularly
Chase Stewart
Sam Raimi movies generally have inflated ratings, see the Evil Meme series.
Jayden Morales
Is this your first gypo curse movie?
Thomas Gutierrez
Completely agree. I feel cheated for having spent 90 minutes watching this piece of shit.
Jace Long
>I don't know what fun is
The movie's a blast. It's a great combination of creepy and flat out silly. It's far more determined to entertain you than to scare you, and it works.
Wyatt Garcia
>Evil Meme
This is our world now. There are people this contrarian, this faggoty, that this is a phrase. For fucks sake, there are people on here that call Road Warrior bad. This is how far down the maymay/"I hate popular things" rabbit hole we've gone.
What the fuck happened?
James Brooks
Kek. It's a post-modern horror movie from Raimi, of all people.
I watched it again a couple of nights ago and thought that it is one of the better mainstream horror films we've seen; practical effects, somewhere between parody, satire and camp. It's fucking amazing.
>I KILLED THAT SWEET LITTLE PUSSY, YOU BITCH!
or whatever the line was. It's fun.

They're a reason why no one likes them due to how illogical, petty and insensible they tend to be.

I see this all the time now on Sup Forums.
Did Sup Forums just become retarded suddenly or did we have a recent influx of non-english speaking newfags?

don't worry, what goes around comes around
>a new literary movement which would espouse something like the New Sincerity ethos:[1]"The next real literary “rebels” in this country might well emerge as some weird bunch of anti-rebels, born oglers who dare somehow to back away from ironic watching, who have the childish gall actually to endorse and instantiate single-entendre principles. Who treat of plain old untrendy human troubles and emotions in U.S. life with reverence and conviction. Who eschew self-consciousness and hip fatigue. These anti-rebels would be outdated, of course, before they even started. Dead on the page. Too sincere. Clearly repressed. Backward, quaint, naive, anachronistic. Maybe that’ll be the point. Maybe that’s why they’ll be the next real rebels. Real rebels, as far as I can see, risk disapproval. The old postmodern insurgents risked the gasp and squeal: shock, disgust, outrage, censorship, accusations of socialism, anarchism, nihilism. Today’s risks are different. The new rebels might be artists willing to risk the yawn, the rolled eyes, the cool smile, the nudged ribs, the parody of gifted ironists, the “Oh how banal”. To risk accusations of sentimentality, melodrama. Of overcredulity. Of softness. Of willingness to be suckered by a world of lurkers and starers who fear gaze and ridicule above imprisonment without law. Who knows

>I DON'T UNDERSTAND CAMP HORROR, WHY ISN'T IT FUNNY
It's not meant to be funny you mong.
