How much does one of these cars cost? After you add roll cages, spoilers, splitters, and all that shit. About how much does that add on to the price of a stock car? I know the prices vary.

A GT3 car runs for about 5-600k. I think the GT300 cars are cheaper. The GT3 cars are actually based off production shells and engines though.

Fuck no. The GT3 cars are truly based on street cars like the AMG GT, Huaracan, and McLaren 650S. They're even related, as far as the chassis goes, in GT3 racing.


GT300 and GT500 cars are silhouette racers; carbon or tube frame shells with bodywork only made to somewhat resemble street cars, powered by bespoke racing engines (GT500), or modified VK45DEs (GT300) (or sometimes other engines).

These race cars wouldn't be street legal either way: Most of them don't have turn signals. But let's say you put on road tires, put on turn signals. Some places won't let you drive with a splitter that big (pedestrian safety), or a cage (you'll bash your head open m8), or with a helmet (gets around the problem of the cage, but if you can't wear the helmet...).

Your best bet? A 911 Cup car. Those are the closest turn key race cars to their production roadgoing cars. I mean, you could also get the Nissan Micra Cup car in Canada, but I assumed you wanted something cool.

In 2010 the GT association announced they will start to investigate the possibility to unite their GT500 regulations with the DTM regulations. In October 2012 a cooperation deal was signed in Tokyo. The agreement regarding the use of the "New DTM" regulations by Japan's Super GT begins in 2014 and runs – for the time being – for four years. As part of these regulations, the 4.5 liter, naturally aspirated V8 engines have been replaced by smaller, lighter 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbo engines, and new aerodynamics have been fitted.

No way this "partnership" will last. Japan had their 2 liter engines up and running from the beginning while the germans are still dragging their feet and dont even let their engineers work on the 2.0 engine. They are really spooked by the insane pace of the GT500 cars and are dodging any kind of comparison really hard.
