Who is saying those rumors?

What is this? I can't read moon runes.

Nausicaa of the valley of the winds

When Miyazaki dies the rights will either go to his family or Ghibli. Disney would still have to negotiate for adaptation rights.

Why do they assume they'll get the rights?

Hopefully not true. Don't need my waifu violated by filthy jews.

They have all the money in the world.

>Hey guys, we can save your struggling studio just name your price and give us dem rights.

When he dies his secret is coming out
Do you really think they'll do this once everyone figures out his pedophilia?

It would just be some CGI nonsense. It's just something that has to be animated

they HAVE the rights in the west already.

go back to Sup Forums kid, this is an art board,

The original Naussica Valley Of The Wind Manga/Comic is seven volumes long. An OVA or 13 episode adaption would be lovely if done right. Even if it turned out bad, it wouldn't take away the film.

Ghibli isn't struggling. Their museum alone produces a lot of money. But they're probably done with feature films.

For distribution.

You and OP should
This is actually an art board not a Sup Forums reject safe haven

To distribution, wasn't there some terrible Western version of this shit already made by someone else from Disney that is the very reason Miyazaki had no edits clauses on everything?

>It would just be animated. It's just something that has to be animated

Didn't Miyazaki himself want his replacement son Anno to direct it?

There were rumors going around that that's why they keep hanging out post "The Wind rises".

Seconded

I'd love for this franchise to get revisited, it's easily my favorite ghibli film.

If they actually keep it hand-drawn animated and just as good as the manga, it would be pretty good
But that won't happen anyway
Best we can hope for is being faithful to the manga with 3D animation. Though that wouldn't happen either

They'll fuck up

I hope disney gets impaled by a thousand giant flying cocks.

>Lord of The Rings style
>Not buying out the rights to Chronicles of Narnia

They can even transform Animal Kingdom into Narnia and make boatloads of shekels.

The fuck is wrong with them?

If it was directed by Del Taco, not quippy and followed the plot of the manga it could be fucking amazing.

No point. The comic already exists and Miyazaki never topped it and will never top it. All anyone else could do is make something worse.

that's the ideia, 3 movies adapting the manga in its entirity

Anno wants to make a Kushana spinoff but Miyazaki won't let him.

>>Not buying out the rights to Chronicles of Narnia
>voyage was 6 years ago

...

Including the ending where Nausicaa potentially dooms humanity?

But that would be awesome. Kushana is flawless.
What's the old man got against it.

Disney doesn't have what it takes to make something as serious and complicated as NausicaƤ, so of course they would fuck it up.

>potentially dooms humanity
Doesn't happen. Did we read the same manga?

A man can only hope

...

>Chinese cartoons are srs business you guys

I don't give a shit. The original movie was alright for what it was, and the manga is a flawless masterpiece. We don't really need anything else.

Because he thinks Anno would ruin his vision

>How to spot a pleb 101

They're made under the assumption that animation can and should tell any kind of story about anything, and can and should use all the same techniques that cinema does. That's completely different from how animation is made in America.

Yeah, happened back in the '80s. Put a massive chip on Miyazaki's shoulder, and for good reason. The guy doesn't take shit no more.

...

Man. That's like idiocy vs intellect.

Wow that was a beautiful trailer and the song was just great. Goddam those jap can be tasteful when they want to.
Your post reminded me of the comparison between the PS1 Resident Evil game covers between US and Japan.

To be fair, one is a kids movie. The other one is for maturer viewers.

The wind rises is so sad when you realize Jiro is Miyazaki and planes are anime and how Miyazaki fucked his personal life for his passion only to it backstab him

How did anime fuck up his personal life?

We could compare it to Spirited Away, which was made specifically with little girls in mind (Frozen seems to have roughly the same idea). It was chosen as the best movie of the year in Japan (before animation got its own award category), and shared first place at the Berlin festival.

This is probably the most well-known scene of the movie:

I don't need to tell you what the most well-known scene in Frozen is and how different it is from this one.

And what American movie could The Wind Rises even be compared to?
