Can someone tell me why Gibsons break so much? Why haven't they fixed the issue after all these years?
Connor Reed
What's the shittest guitar you've ever owned lads?
My first guitar was a £40 strat.
Cooper Hill
Which big guitar brand is the best guys?
Lincoln Roberts
THE RIGHT THREAD
Alexander Brooks
the ceo is garbage and the only good gibson is one on cleareance so i don't feel bad when I drill holes in it and change the pickups
Austin Collins
Ibanez is best value for the money by a mile.
Liam Carter
There's no volute where the neck joins the headstock, making it prone to breakage.
Joshua Gutierrez
My first guitar was a crappy used acoustic of some no name brand. My second and first electric was another no name knock off brand.
Sebastian Cooper
But why though? Gibson knows it has an issue with headstocks breaking, why don't they fix it? Why keep making a flawed product and why do people keep buying them regardless?
Tyler Cook
so when you go past the nut on a guitar, you want a little bit of back angle on the string when it goes to the tuning peg to keep it from slipping around out of tune, most guitars go about 10-15 degrees, gibson went full retard 60 years ago and went like 30 degrees without a neck volute
when you drop it, it's the first thing to hit and it's weak so it goes to SNAP CITY
they actually put a volute in years ago, but gibson purists(fags) requested it be removed
Grayson Lee
o-oh... well i'm sorry you feel that way
did you not see my post? >second for strats
Aaron Myers
Fender is just cheap. They're cheap to make, cheap materials, cheap build quality, but you're paying for the name. There is absolutely no reason a Strat or Tele should cost any more than a few hundred
Ayden Rodriguez
Post your guitar or bass. I want to see what everyone here is actually playing
Cameron Scott
>buying a fender new >a bolt on guitar with a fucking pickguard, the easiest guitar to work on in fucking history >buying one new
Samuel Miller
They're made out of hand-selected tonewoods. And the headstocks don't break off. That kind of craftsmanship doesn't come cheap.
Logan Cook
>tonewood
Evan Fisher
There is literally nothing wrong with owning a Gibson
Michael Stewart
this abomination it's neck pick up is lit though
Jose Long
Accept the horrible quality, the terrible QC, the breaking headstocks, and the enormous price you're paying for it.
Joshua Peterson
I don't suppose anyone's tired of seeing this photo yet.
Christian Ramirez
Tone wood is more meme than an 8 string guitar
Owen Perry
...
Camden Jackson
>tele >hss strat with roland pickup >single coil only strat
these are the only ones you should own
you should a/b the single coil only guitars and get rid of the one that isn't the best sounding
what a waste
Cooper Peterson
This is disgusting
Wyatt Thomas
>breaking head stocks WRONG they have the best head stock design by far. It's an improved strat
Austin Hernandez
I wish some sciency fucker would strap some nearly identical guitars with different woods into a machine that plays them exactly the same way and analyze the frequencies they produce.
Would that not put an end to these fucking tonewood arguments?
Jordan Harris
If they were all electrics through the same amp, same pickups and same strings, they would all sound the same. Wood is a meme on electrics.
Aaron Butler
washburn senpai
Henry Taylor
even if they sounded the same some nigger would say otherwise
Eli Wood
THEN WHY DO THEY BREAK SO OFTEN?
Xavier Murphy
not one single broken headstock
Gibson owners take note
Julian Peterson
prs*
*as long as you dont get a guitar thats more than $1500
Ayden Long
Strats have volutes, LPs don't.
Henry Foster
Nobody actually believes in toanwoodz dude, it's just bait
Brandon Harris
Ibanez ez
Caleb Howard
Black Rooster Audio just released a free amp sim based on a Tiny Terror. Sounds damn good, and it's a nice plug and play practice amp. Definitely better than Guitar Rig's Orange amp.
Paul Reed Smith made an entire company off of the tonewood meme and sold his tonewood machines for ridiculous prices and people still eat that shit up. He's literally a snake oil salesman
Parker Torres
Wrong. Ibanez have the 100000000000% improved strat heads.
Christopher Gray
the only time body and neck material matters is if you're going into extremes
metal guitars do not sound like wood guitars and don't resonate or ring the same way
source: have an EGC series 5
Luke Jenkins
Found out my dad got a bargain on my guitar I took from my older brother ages ago who never touched it
Colton Long
Convince me why I should get a better amp instead of a new guitar?
Brandon Reed
There is literally nothing wrong with owning a Squier or Epiphone
Hunter Hughes
Most electrics sound the same
Ayden Williams
There is literally nothing right about it either
Elijah Phillips
Word, I own a Gibson epiphone special model ii. It's sick
Easton Williams
Nice, I'm a fan of the matching headstock.
Wyatt Martin
I've got another Tele too but that's got a Warmoth neck so it doesn't really count
Jackson Butler
>Gibson epiphone
as opposed to a Fender Squier
Ian Hill
I'm selling my Tele. 700 bucks, it's an American Special in blonde if anyone wants it.
Jace Foster
What's the best way to clean up a guitar to make it look better to sell? Specifically I want to get rid of the scratches on the pickguard
Matthew Reed
take it in the back yard and hose it down
then scrub with a wire brush and soapy water and hose down again
John Stewart
>not sure if serious
Sebastian Stewart
Yeah, they're much better.
>tele Log off, delete your account, clear history, and never come here again
Gavin Murphy
>Gibson fans will defend this
Daniel Howard
/gg/ is literally /tele/ though
Brayden Bennett
>all Epis Coincidence?
Christian Morales
>tele is metal W R O N G
Aaron Bennett
No one here actually plays metal though
Angel Johnson
Check their page. This business is kept alive by Gibson owners.
Easton Davis
R8 my baby
Ryder Brooks
I don't like natural finish
Blake Miller
Every time I see a semi acoustic, I get the overwhelming urge to jump up and down on it then push the pieces through a woodchipper
just saying
Connor Ramirez
Wtf you think they play? Dad rock? Buttrock? Lawyer? Fucking jazz? Lmao go back to readditt before you come round here again
John Williams
It was either that or a shit-tier sunburst.
Oliver Robinson
The 2nd guitar I ever owned. I only had an acoustic and was in guitar center. Impulse bought some BC Rich on sale 100$. I think I might have been fucked up on something because the memory is blurry as fuck. Ended on getting rid of it because I wanted something less edgy looking and more comfortable to use.
Brody Butler
Why user?
Hudson Hall
PRS SEs are a pretty good value too.
Luis Reyes
Jazz fusion. If you're a newfag don't project and fuck off
Thomas Long
New addition to the family, Quite surprised at how good this thing feels initially with no strings on it yet (need to buy a set, going .12s for that C-Standard goodness)
I was hesitant about getting this guitar in the trade I did but the more I look at it and hold it the more I actually like it a lot.
gorgeous. I'll probably grab a hollowbody eventually myself.
Bentley Kelly
...
Ethan Young
A plywood - literally plywood - Chinese Les Paul copy. The "carved" top was made by bending the plywood into shape.
Still, better than a Gibson. At least the headstock didn't break off.
David Jones
I had one and it had the non adjustable bridge and never stayed in tune
Carter Moore
>meme fusion ELMAO this nigga can't be serious
Brandon Morris
Starting to play again. Fuck, I barely remember how to play this thing
As a side question Im just starting to play bass again since I stopped after high school Whats the best way to start learning again?
Brody Taylor
Just cuz you can't play it Fuck off
Nathan Collins
>Jazz fusion.
Easton Long
Yeah this is the only guitar I've had for sometime, and it's grown on me a lot. I can't really stand light colored wood on fretboards and by extension the non matching heads. The lighter colors on them tend to bug me
Cooper Perez
>this projection
Hunter Lee
>he actually bought a bongo lmao-ing at ur lyfe kiddo
Daniel Davis
>hurr durr I can only play power cords Literally you
Joshua Harris
A Washburn that my parents got me in a starter pack at Aldi's. I still have it, only because no one will buy it from me.
Luis Martin
>no-no you can't play he keeps doing it LMAO
Liam Lopez
Aldi? fucking Aldi? I thought they only sold broccoli and bags of onion rings and oven chips
Ryder Turner
That says everything about the quality of that instrument.
Jace Rivera
uhhh mexican strats are literally the same price new or second hand, maybe like $100 difference where i live
i think i'll buy a brand new one...
Brandon Johnson
Joke's on you, it plays and sounds great and its looks have grown on me.
Camden Gutierrez
I want a Washburn Aldi Broccolicaster now
Grayson Jackson
Viper fag here. Im on a Livingstone CAG500/RDS I got from Aldi for $50 until my Viper gets here. My M-300 FM has been dry docked until I can afford parts down the line.
Easton Richardson
It is a healthy instrument
Aaron Anderson
MiM Fender's went up in the UK recently. They used to be around £420 iirc and now they're just over £500.
Jose Campbell
"shittiest" guitar i had, i found in the trash on the way to school. no name acoustic, beat to shit, and the bridge broke off. all the pins were still in it with the strings. i pocketed the pins and bridge, threw the strings out. at school a bunch of girls colored all over it. when i got home i fixed the bridge and put the old strings from my electric on it. took it everywhere that summer like a fag that takes their guitar everywhere. one day i smashed it like an axe on my bedpost, it exploded into like toothpick sized splinters. i was fuckin shocked. wish i still had it, desu.
William Cooper
why are mia like £1200?
David Gomez
>Aldi's really? one just opened by me, gonna go look for a beater
Brody Adams
Why is it okay to play a Les Paul which is a signature guitar, but if you play a Jem you're looked down on?
Luis Gutierrez
Godin core series
I love the P90 pickups, they work well on my Fender twin
