Dimebag Darnell was buried in a Kiss Casket, what a fag lol

>dumps trash cans
>cleans urinals
>sweeps the parking lot
>Opeth: You want to do what? Oh yeah, sure! which guitar do you want to play, man?
lol

k

has anyone ever used any of these links?

with one of EVH's shitjob guitars too

the most impressive thing he did was make one of the shittiest guitar sounds i've ever heard work in a band context

Would anyone give a shit about Dimebag/Pantera today if he didn't get murdered?

>he's this mad because I can get to him but he can't get to me

no
yes

they were immensely popular as soon as Cowboys hit, so yea

they would have an album or two of bad music and Down wouldn't be a thing probably, which...kinda sucks but kinda doesn't

?

...

so yeah, who plays guitar here?

not me

Na, I just talk shit about other people's guitars.

Did I mention Viper guy's guitar has cancer?

>tfw it's more fun to shit on other peoples guitars than to play guitar and we will never have peace in /gg/

Guess who.

Day 6 of waiting on my Viper 1000fm in the mail.

Paid 1k for it ausfailian, usually sells for 1600.

remind me why you play guitar again /gg/

because its fun you autist, and i like playing my favorite songs

...

>>outdated sounding
Outdated musicians who don't want to step outside of their comfort zone you mean.
>>all genres creatively exhausted
There are genres not yet discovered due to the aforementioned problem.
>>limited musical range
Yeah, every musical instrument is limited in some way, that's why we have so many.
>>takes years to master
As does anything worth doing. What else are you doing with your life?
>>and even when you do there's always an 8yo Asian that's better and more accomplished than you'll ever be
There will always be someone better and always someone worse. Just gotta see how far you can climb.
>>if you're technical the audience will say you're just showing off
That's fine because music is subjective.
>>if you're restrained the audience will say you can't play
That's fine because music is subjective.
>>an electric guitar isn't a complete instrument until you pair it with an amplifier
Of course, but a computer isn't a computer without a monitor. I mean there are lots of things that need to be paired with something else to work as intended.
>>so it's expensive
Not really. You can get a decent beginner setup for under $500. The price of what people spend on a decent graphics card or a console and a couple games these days. You can't use the old space or noise constraints argument either anymore because there are amp pedals now and there are these neat things called headphones that have been around for years.
>>playing can give rise to health problems like arthritis and carpel tunnel
True, but if you already have arthritis, I've heard that it can actually help those with it somewhat, by exercising and stretching their hands. I'm not talking shredding, just laid back playing. Don't know how true that is though.
>>all the good pussy goes to rap niggers
Who plays guitar to get women? I'd rather have another guitar or a pedal or something than a woman. They're a pain in the arse nowadays.

>Buying a Gibson product
>Ever

>Gibson graveyard
>every single headstock has "Epiphone" on it.

Mahogany is a shit wood for necks desu. You rarely see a Gibson with a maple neck like that.

...

Can someone come up with a riff challenge or a lick challenge or something?

youtu.be/lkOuO7tJc34

I should have clarified, I meant like a creative challenge, something like in the pic related. Not just learning something difficult

These are the same fags that act like ltds are the same as esps, or that squirts are the same as fender. Theyre ashamed of their cheap shitplank.

Ignore what I say, I'm really wondering if anyone can see what settings I could change for my 286s to possibly improve my sound a bit.

imgur.com/a/jrLAL

these are the current settings I have on my 286s. I've tried messing with it and this is what I have right now.

have you tried unplugging it?

That's where I'd start with any compressor, what mic are you using?

>google image search
>"broken headstock"

Are there any recommendable books about introduction to classical playing?

no, but there's a lot of gay porn you could probably be watching instead

my, it's so hot in here, do you mind if I take some clothes off?

i think you got the wrong thread, buddy. the leather board's two blocks down.

sm7b, look at the imgur album, it has the settings for my pre amp on it. I have my compression dials set like this: Drive: 4. Density: 3 1/2

Rekt. I was going to post that too

I am getting so hot, i wanna take my clothes off

I tried looking around online real quick and couldn't find anything. I'm sure if you went to a music store they'd have a good stock of books. I've definitely seen books on classical playing at guitar center, but can't remember the titles.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I've been listening to Converge a lot lately and i really dig the sound. What effects should i use to achieve similar tone bros?

I went to music school for 11 years, learning classical guitar.
We used no method book whatsoever (only in musical theory lectures).
What we did though was playing what was written on music sheet, and training fingers with scales and arpeggio

Thank you very much.

>squirts
this made me laugh
now I will meme it

Did you practice today?

No, I have a girlfriend you gnome lookin' gargoyle! Ficki ficki! There's a reason you're so good at guitar, Govan!

It's called your face! HA HA HAAA!

Postage in this country is a marvel.

>911 get
Call the ambulance you just rekt guthrie gayvan

synths are better than guitars, they don't hurt your fingers

>started playing guitar when I was a teenager
>seemed like a cool way to express yourself musically
>got really good
>considered accomplished even by professionals I sometimes associate with
>as I mature musically I realize writing guitar based music is rudimentary, simplistic and creatively limited compared to the infinite possibilities a laptop based DAW offers now
>as I mature musically I slowly realize how uninteresting most guitar based music actually is
>as I mature socially I come to realize most people have long since stopped caring about guitar based music too
>mfw guitar might as well be an accordion or a harpsichord now
>pic related: mfw I know in my heart I wasted my time on this instrument
>mfw I wish I could have all that time I wasted back
don't end up like me kids, save yourselves from my fate

Why do you post this every thread?

need suggestions, what song should I record a cover of? may actually deliver this week

I spend my time learning Iron Maiden songs and improvising solos over their songs to get better at soloing, is this a good idea for me to get better? I already know my scales and shit, im just working on proficiency.

yes

Dont stop believing

He does it because of people like you. Stop.

Its great if you want to solo over music in the style of iron maiden

I wasted a lot of time in high school playing guitar, i should have played football. Its great now cause i learned how to rip off muscians by selling gear at a proce thats to good to be true. I cant tell you how many "fenders" ive sold that i juast changed the headstock logo on. Rule number 1 of buying gear online, people like me exist.

311 - down

hey i just met you by charlie ray jepson

> spending this much time responding to the 4th most stale b8 in the general

Threads dead. All the americants must be in school

> i am a nigger and bragging
Don't brag about being a nigger. It's not a good thing.

Whos bragging? I was talking about guitar with the other poster. Do you think your parents will be happy to see you using that language?

Discuss

circumcised guitar

I didnt think you could make a fender uglier

I'm really looking to do an instrumental cover of something with a strong vocal melody, these don't really press my buttons

youtube.com/watch?v=FWO5Ai_a80M

youtube.com/watch?v=G9Y5Dhzciyc

Songs from Titanic-my heart goes on

now this idea I like

It looks dumb but atleast you can play it in the classic position and the comfy one.

>user I noticed you are using and Alder body guitar. Perhaps I could interest you in a Toanwood Paul Reed Smeeth Screaming Eagle 22 with 85/15 pickups and a nut that has aluminum powder in it?

Then you will be able to really play a great instrument.

but everyone who owns one

plays
shit
music

dunno man, is it a special reserve wood library 10 top

>I read that shit on PRS website

Can someone explain what private stock is?

Pic related is strandbergs private stock, what's so special about them?

hand-selected tonewoods

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Where's the Duo-Sonic love?

I'd be interested in one. Do you have contact info?

> “Carefully picked from my [Paul Reed Smith’s] private stock for sound and remarkable figure.” That is still true today, as all Private Stock woods are carefully housed in “The Vault” just outside of Paul’s office.

>that's right user, I will let you have a wood from my carefully guarded tonewood vault.

>no AAAAAA spalted burly burr maple top
>tonewoods not hand-selected
>pickups not wound by blind nuns on a 15th century steam powered pickup winding machine
>tap the body then tap the neck , the resonant frequencies aren't a perfect interval apart

get that shit-tier toy guitar out of here

over at Instagram i suppose
feel free to migrate towards it

"Simply the best guitars ever to hang on a dentist's lounge wall"

Whats the dentist meme? I've seen it several times.

I didn't know where else to go, this is my first time on this board

I was just about to start this book but noticed a music piece that I guess might tie in to the book itself but I don't know squat about music

Can someone be nice enough to play this?

I don't think anyone will do squat if they have to turn their head 90 degrees to read that shit

Rich dudes who overpay custom shop-type guitars to hang on their walls and occasionally play on the weekends. They're a large part of why the vintage guitar market is so insanely inflated. Hence the dentist meme/"blues lawyers".

I kind of like it, not as much as the regular Boden design though. I'd definitely get one of those before an American HSS strat. But do they make them with maple fretboards? It would look a lot better

they're guitars for people with loads of money and no taste in guitars who never go out and play a gig, in fact they never even play the guitar, it just hangs on their fucking wall because if they took it out of the house and it got scratched then that's $5000 off the value

My apoligies with the rotation, just your your monitor or something, I swear I took the picture correctly

>not "tone attorneys"

yeah, not gonna do that soz m8

Frederick Noad's books are pretty good as an introduction. Otherwise a typical classical student will learn from a combination of performance pieces, etudes and scale studies (usually Segovia for guitar). It's the type of study that is pretty difficult without an instructor, unfortunately.

better call Paul

I don't get it

Had to stifle a guffaw to be quite honest lads

I know Kurt used something like a Providence Stampede DT for the distortion on You Fail Me

There have a short piece i composed. you can learn to play it if you want.

One guitar is the lead, another guitar is chords
