I don't care at all desu
If you're so insecure in your political beliefs that you'll drop an artist you like for having different ones then you don't deserve the music

I don't really care much about it.
Eventually you'll realize that most musicians, even your favourite ones, are fucking retarded, that's when you realize they're just normal people that happen to be good at one thing: making music.
It's part of growing up.

Almost all artists are lefties anyway

Those values like hesitation(left) or overconfidence(right) will seep into the musicians art, values and virtues tend to want to be self-congratulatory even if being an artist negates all those shortcomings and still gets them laid. If you can't discern a person's values it just means you are a grade A follower.

really makes you think.

I don't give two shits unless they start putting it in their music. I came for their ability to make good music, not their opinions on the current state of politics in the US.

Nah and most lefties make cringe inducing naive stuff anyway.

I just don't listen to plebeian music that has cringe-tier lyrics.
Educated musicians know how to not pollute their craft.

as long as their political views don't ruin their talent, I don't care. But usually right-wing/conservatives artists aren't so talented so...

doesn't bother me. unless its in the lyrics and its all out bashing. or if their social media is 24/7 uneducated political opinions fueled by emotion.
i agree with 90% of my fav artists opinion on things but they make excellent music so why would i let that get in the way?

right wing people aren't comfortable with inspiring impulsiveness and vice in a race to the bottom of creating the most dependent audience members.

Not complete opposite but Billy Bragg is obnoxiously far left, yet I still enjoy his music,

I don't care until they start using their bands twitter to post political related shit, and I only follow there twitter to find out news about the band. If it's a band that's always been political, I don't give a shit then.

thats why you should only listen to the weird frontier OP. they don't favor a political side

see

how does that go against my point?

nope, i'm a marxist-leninist and i love burzum and peste noire

also i've seen yves tumor live at berghain, he's a demon, he's skinny af and 2 mt tall, the crowd was literally moshing

I don't mind, but if they go out of their way to talk shit about their opposing viewpoints (i e, me) then I will stop listening to them obv

The fact that he doesn't suck BLM's dick doesn't mean he's not a leftie. I'm not gonna speculate on what Dean's political views are, but not wanting to support this garbage can doesn't really say much on itself.
Also, why did you very conveniently left out everyone but Dean out of the conversation? I mean have you seen Ferraro's twitter?

I like the Amboy Dukes and some solo Ted Nugent songs.

I think the guy his a nutcase but I don't let that affect my enjoyment.

I still enjoy their music, but it makes me dislike them as a person. Best to avoid any information about any and all content creators.

what about ferraros twitter

Depends on how much it shows in the music itself. But it's not often an issue. I listen to Burzum even though I'm a socialist... But while Varg is crazy, hes a special breed of crazy that is almost interesting again. It's so over-the-top it almost feels like an act. Billy Corgan on the other hand seems so genuinly stupid & annoying that I can't take his music seriously either. (But I never liked his music anyway so I don't know how much it is actually about that, but at the same time I definitly give it less of a chance because I just don't like him).

As someone who's pretty far right, overtly political music doesn't bother me. As long as the points being made are presented in a way that doesn't make the artist look like a moron, and the music behind the points sounds good, I can't complain

>I mean have you seen Ferraro's twitter?
have you?

I don't know of any musicians who share my politics.

How would I rea-
Fuck you and fuck politics it's hot and spicy Herbie time.

>all these "who cares" posts from morons thinking we're in a non-political circuit

Unless they push their shit on their listeners and/or alienate parts of them for their political believes, not a whole lot.

>le herbie jazz god xD meme

james and deans music is completely political. challenging assumptions of black music, black entertainers, and much of their music deals specifically with events. daniels music deals with philosophies of globalization and the impact of the internet on the world--- dealing with the sociopolitical cultural elements that entails. arcas music itself could be interpreted as apolitical but i view it as a direct attack on the coopting of electronic dance music from black and brown queer people to tits modern corporate white appropriation.

what you just described makes up at least 50% of all current politically tinged music that comes out

Sup Forums has a very large community of White Greivance Warriors these days. They have an exceptionally hard time separating politics from pretty much anything

>White Greivance Warriors
lmao what the fuck

Empyrean Isles, released in 1964, is often reguarded (along with Maiden Voyage) as the Magnum Opus of his Blue Note years.

It was also the first album where he would be experimenting with model jazz (With his first 2 albums being standard jazz and Inventions being focused more on latin percussion). This albums tone is cold and smooth. Imagine "Taking a drive through New York at night: The album" and you've already got the feeling of it.

It also featured the debut of what would become one of his many standards, "Canteloupe Island".

lmao i thought that was lil yachty

I'm a conservative getting a law degree, but my favorite band is Godspeed You Black Emperor even though they are self described anarcho-comminists. I don't give a shit since it's just music, and they don't even have lyrics or political influence. Hell, I even heard their live concerts have a table where they distribute pamphlets promoting anarchy and Leninism.

seems like you just made that up

thats because literally everything is political retard. whose voices are heard, whose ideas are shared. music is shaped and a representation of the sociopolitical. it does not exist in a void. only people of extreme privilege can say politics dont matter to them.

how does it feel? whenever a band has similar political views to me i feel a special connection. might seem dumb but i think its a normal human reaction. commies can be assholes towards ppl with other political opinions, so it wouldnt suprise me if they would hate you for yours.

what part of political side did you miss?

/thread

that james isn't like that nutjob from grizzly bear that writes essays about how fucked he is.

stop threading your own posts fucker

Well it's not like I'd feel anything about them as people since I've never actually met them. Maybe if I did, I would feel differently, but I just really like their music.

>whenever a band has similar political views to me i feel a special connection
I only have special connections with girls i fuck and God.
end of the day they're human just like you stop putting them on a pedestal

>White Greivance Warriors
genius

>I only have special connections with girls i fuck and God.
cringe.

...

I hate everything on this chart that I know (except for the flaming lips record)

Nearly all artists share none of my beliefs. Just suspend your views and listen like you have none.

>the soft bulletin
>mercury rev
fucking why

how do you feel to be always in the wrong? that's why you're so smug & feel superior?

maybe the flaming lips because they have lyrics that is supposed to be random and funny? other than that i have no idea.

> model jazz

Herbieanon made A typo I'm sorry :(
