Actually there might be a director's cut, just not yet.

While his repply to Dan says "not a directors cut", it could mean that what you can pre-order right now, does not contain the director's cut.
Infact, in reply to Transcendent Tales, he says "story for another time" which to me implies he's still in talks for a future release of the director's cut.

>muh director's cut
>muh missing 40 minutes

40 extra minutes won't fix the terrible acting and toddler-tier writing. It won't fix the godawful costumes and makeup either.

It's a shit flick, deal with it.

Knowing (or caring) fuck all about Warcraft, I really enjoyed the movie.

It wasn't LOTR but it wasn't D&D either.

Exactly this. Stop trying to turn shit into gold. It's over.

I wish I was as good as you at assumptions.

I wish i was as delusional as you. Would probably make me enjoy movies a lot more.

Muh reddit. Fuck off kid, sick of your shit anonymous.

> It's over.
but i like it

why are you so butthurt over the fact that people want to see more of it? does vydiakino scare you that much

OOOOOOOHH HE USED THE REDDIT INSULT OOOOOOOOOOOOHHH WORLDSTAAAR

Why would vidyakino scare anyone when Warcraft is flopping with the critics AND bombing hard at the box office?

>wanting to watch that film again
>wanting to watch it again but with an even longer cut

No thanks

Not even sure why you frogposting autists are spamming every Warcraft thread, you've already destroyed the board with your capeshit. Do you want discussion or shitposting? Seems to be the latter.

the amount of CGI means that most of it will be unfinished CGI

>bombing hard at the box office
It's only bombing at the us box office which is kinda irrelevant, and everyone knows that americans are retarded because they still think ghosts exist

>Why would vidyakino scare anyone when Warcraft is flopping with the critics
opinions of critics are literally irrelevant if it makes money, not to mention most of these critics are us based, which we've already established that they're irrelevant

Life too, instead of being this angry over fucking movies of all things.

They get a much higher % of ticket sales from US box office so no it definitely is not irrelevant

china will fund the movie themselves if they have to

>Do you want discussion or shitposting?

If i wanted discussion i'd go to Reddit.

And so should you, then. Otherwise, get used to the fact that your shit flick will get shitposts here

...

ok mehmet

what do you want to shitpost about?

go ahead

shitpost about shitcraft.

>it's a studio ruins the director's vision episode

Have you seen the movie?

at least tell us how warcraft is like battleship earth. your shitposting is currently kind of shit to be honest pham

Warcraft? More like Cosplaycraft

>tfw i liked it

It was indeed 10 years too late, as much as I enjoyed and had fun watching it I can't see modern audience liking a movie like that.

>it's a director blames the studio for his shitty movie episode

Your country isn't white.

go on pham

don't stop

I liked it, too. Go check the Rotten Tomatoes audience score, nigga. That shit is high. People liked this movie.

It was made for a specific audience, and for them it was a good experience. Critics didn't like it, but the vast majority of them are not the intended viewers. The whole system is fucked. The same balding middle aged fat fuck is reviewing both mature movies, and shit like Spongebob Squarepants. Like, who gives a shit what he thinks about a sponge who lives under water. The movie wasn't made for him. And neither was this.

It's kinda hard to shitpost about movies that are already universally hated and criticised. Shitposting doesn't really work when pretty much all of the criticism is objectively true.

>it's another blizzdrone engages in mental gymnastics to defend his turd flop of a film episode

nice copout

If Duncan doesn't release a director's cut... then FUCK

Thank god this movie didn't get 60-70% on RT, because then it would've been impossible to convince all the Blizzdrones that their movie was shit. But now when it's sitting at 27%, you just know that deep inside, all the Blizzdrones will slowly start realising that their precious movie is fucking garbage.

But they won't ever admit it, though. But they know

>mental gymnastics
isn't that what you're doing right now?

I wouldn't be surprised if the editor of the movie deleted the longer cut that he edited (all movies have a rough longer cut before condensing down).

Hence Duncan saying "search the cutting room floor".

Such a shame.

That's not to say we won't get some deleted scenes but yeah will never see it in its entirety ;_;

>ignoring user ratings
>trusting blogger opinions
>rotten tomatoes
>swj shit
you the definition of cancer, my friend

tbf whoever the editor on this film was should be fired, it's the single worst aspect of this film

Decent editor would be the biggest benefit for the film of any other role

>i can't even meme the meme
your the runt of the meme litter pham tbqh

>implying that people don't take the RT score serious
A lot of facebook fags do though

to be honest family something

>it's entertainment
>subjective experiences don't count
which is what you're saying right now.

if fanboys like it, they like it, their opinions aren't any less valid, because a movie is not hard science.

the hater who gave Warcraft 0/100 is just as valid as the fanboy who gave it 10/10.

I have nothing but contempt for these people.

>ignoring user ratings
As a Blizzdrone and a WoW nerd I'm sure you're already aware of this, but there have been multiple pushes on forums such as the World of Warcraft official forums, and mmo-champion, for people to create accounts for user reviews on places such as iMDB and Metacritic, and to rate the film 5/5 relentlessly to try and push the average rating up so that normies stop making fun of them.
Did anyone save that early iMDB rating spread for the flick before it was even released, where a good 60-70% of the ratings were 10/10?

edited by: Paul Hirsch
editor credits: star wars 4/5, and more than 40 high budget titles

Good but that doesn't stop the reality that hundreds take RT seriously: hence less movie sales if a movie is reviewed negatively by critics.

Considering how savage some of these critics were, it was a necessary investment, especially if people want to see more of it.

Ratings aren't merely there to judge a movie's quality on its objective merits, because movies aren't made in a vacuum.

They're for the subjects. Warcraft might have been a mediocre movie, but it has the Warcraft brand name. That alone makes the film better to many people.

depending on if both/either of those scores are based on anything substantial then they can absolutely be more/less valid than the other

Yes they do, which is why it bombed in the usa, but did reasonably well in european countries.

You still fail to get it. You don't have to base it on something substantial, because a movie is there to incite emotions.

It doesn't matter if the guy didn't even watch it, and just decided to hate it based on the fact that it's Warcraft, because he had an emotional response to it (anger or contempt), and gave it 0/100.

>actually trying to justify a campaign to mindlessly rate a film 10/10 before it is even released, because at one point in time nerds, children and manchildren enjoyed playing a video game with the same brand name
Yeah, I'm out. This is fucking looney tunes. If this isn't all some massive meme being orchestrated by Blizzdrones and WoW players, you guys are legitimately out of your mind.

>actually trying to justify a campaign to mindlessly rate a film 10/10 before it is even released
Movie does well, blizzdrones get sequels. Why are you surprised that people are looking out for their own interests?

My point still stands - no right-minded editor would've thought "yeah this is good" when making it. Seems to just be studio pressure to cut every angle of time as possible, as a 2h44m film woulda seemed too much for pleb audiences. Not only is the start (presumably character development) obviously horribly butchered (likely because the studio was like, "keep action cut the boring shit, it's fantasy l0l"), a huge amount of scenes feel like they were cut 2-5 seconds too early, which is presumably from them just trying to skim time as much as possible. If he was a decent editor it wouldn't have been like that.

that's not up to zowie to decide

E.g I like Blizzard games, I give them high ratings and my money, Blizzard continues making more games that I like.

Another example, I like Hillary Clinton, I give her my savings to run her campaign. In return, I get a female president. A win for feminists worldwide.

It really is that simple. Stop thinking that people are even interested in rating anything objectively.

too obvious mate, come on try harder next time

denial of reality is the first step towards it

>seen this trailer? realer than real life
>the dawn of vidyakino is coming
>best video game film adaptation of all time

>the early screening reviews don't matter, it probably wasn't completely finished yet
>it will still make $1billion and finally dethrone capeshit

>reviews don't mean anything, it's still going to make a fortune
>reviews don't mean anything, it's still going to make a fortune internationally
>reviews don't mean anything, it's still going to make a fortune in China

>box office doesn't matter, it's a film for fans
>reviews do matter, but only the ones that support my point of view

>if only it was 40 minutes longer, it would've been 10/10 flick of the year and a film for the ages

Are Blizzdrones mentally ill?

>>if only it was 40 minutes longer, it would've been 10/10 flick of the year and a film for the ages
I have literally never seen anyone even imply that including more of the cut content would have had a chance to make this movie a 10/10.
But I think with better editing it could've been a 7/10, easily.

Yes.

"it was the editor's fault" is the closest you're going to get to an admission the movie is shit. And the only reason they can say that much is the idea there's a great movie hiding behind some abstract barrier.

>Expecting a directors cut when they don't even have legacy servers
Blizzard won't even let you have 1 bite unless you eat the whole cake in 1 sitting.
Like always

if they fuck up the extended version I'm gonna be pretty mad

So is this a new trend? Directors blaming everybody but them themselves for a bad movie.
Well, not new really, but I heard that "you need the special super cut to enjoy the movie!" or "studios just fucked me over" a lot lately

>studios never ruin a decent director's vision
>delusion

It probably started with Kingdom of Heaven 2bh, the theatrical version was a mess but the director's cut made it 10x better and into an actually great film

>It's only bombing at the us box office which is kinda irrelevant
>vidyakino plebs actually believe this statement

The shortened (current) edit is pretty fucked though and I have faith in Dunkin Bowie

china owns legendary pictures

Don't you have a mass shooting to attend?

Let me explain this to you in simple terms

US company = US market matters most

I'm not american, america is a cancerous state that needs to be broken up and distributed back to Britain but we can't fix that right now, all I'm telling you is that living in a delusional fantasy world where America isn't currently the dominant world power does nobody any favours, it's better to accept the shitty situation and move towards fixing it instead of pretending it doesn't exist so you can be smug on an anonymous image board

You (and your fellow drones) make out as though the editing and pacing was the ONLY thing wrong with the flick, though.
If only that were the case, you could have a point in genuinely believing 40 extra minutes of footage that was deemed to be not important enough for the original cut, will turn a 3/10 into a 7/10 or more.

The kool-aid that Blizzard serve must be really fucking strong.

Why was Garona, an orc slave, suddenly part of the high command with the king after one day? Was there a deleted scene where she sucked his dick for 20 minutes straight?

>Pacific Rim getting a sequel on $410M box office on $190M budget (215% comparison). Most success overseas (ie. China).

>Warcraft currently has $311M on a $160M, not completed its run yet (194% comparison), but is Chinese-owned so gets a higher cut from the China-run.

Not that far-fetched atm desu

This movie is better than a 3/10, and you know it.

I wasnt saying that different cuts cant be of different quality

Nobody is saying Warcraft would be 8-10/10 kino-quality. But it was a film which had an easy 7/10-flick quality with just a little bit more than was obviously denied to it.

Except Legendary is owned by Chinese?

Some are saying that, and some are saying it's 1/10.

The rating system is fucked in my opinion.

You're basically assigning an objective value to a subjective experience.

My perfect rating system would include emotions as feedback.

I'm not sure if you just liked the movie or if you one of those people who thinks 7/10 is a pretty bad rating

Consider toy sales, the percentage of each market and DVD sales

Pacific Rim was in dire straits for a long time, 3 years between a blockbuster coming out and them announcing a sequel is a pretty long time and it's clear that they were judging whether it was worth it to bother. Almost assuredly this was a decision based on 1) marketing 2) toys/assorted merch 3) dvd sales 4) WB trying to regain fan appreciation after its many recent loses.

Irrelevant, this doesn't help Legendary at all, the best they could do as far as I know is achieve a 50% cut in china, this is pretty good as far as percentages go but it doesn't help you unless you make about 500 million in china alone to cover the patchwork of literally every other country on the planet.

Legendary is still a US company, it's just owned by a chinaman, that doesn't suddenly flip things on its head in regards to the money, in fact if anything it's worse because legendary is sharing money with universal and likely there's some money being siphoned out for said chinaman as well.

Legendary won't consider greenlighting a sequel for this any time soon, here's a comparison for you, go find a movie, with a sub 30% top critic rating, on a similar budget, that made similar money that got a sequel, I'll be waiting here until you do.

I mean you might find such a film, I honestly don't know if one exists, if it does then I'll be happy to entertain further discussion about it, but until then, no, you're not going to get a sequel.

Come back in a few years and check if the movie has paid for itself in other ways (aforementioned for pacrim) and thats another dimension you might hope for but again, you'll have to wait.

Yeah, this

Metric rating systems for movies is absolute bullshit for me. It doesnt really make sense.

A binary rating system with explanation makes much more sense

Pornos for example serve a different audience. It wouldn't be fair to rate it as a normal movie, but with numbered system creates a false equivalence.

movie ratings need four dimensions

one axis is enjoyment and the second is critical appraisal

you could ironically enjoy some schlock movie but still rate it as a bad cinematic feature, that way you can tailor your opinions to both types of people and don't need to worry about misleading people because you personally enjoyed it so gave it a legitmately good score.

and it shouldn't be too wide a scale, 5 points on both axis should be enough.

>there are "people" who enjoy this shit flick

Something needs to wipe us out asap.

>you're not going to get a sequel.
This is not written in stone.

I'm not optimistic either, but what the fuck, don't put it as if it's a done deal.

Blizzard poured a lot of their own money into this, maybe they got good numbers, who fucking knows.

read the rest of my post

you might get a sequel if this corresponds to like a massive bump in wow subscriptions of if they sell a ton of dvds or if theres a large toy market for warcraft figures or w/e the equivalent is these days

you might get a sequel if its judged that a franchise will pay for itself and lower cumulative marketing costs

but you won't get a sequel because of the box office and you won't get a sequel because of the critical reception.

until then:

That would only benefit Warcraft. They have a massive gaming franchise behind it, and Blizzard are literally swimming in money. If they truly wanted to, they could singularly fund these movies. Instead they co-produce them, and they have the added benefit of attracting people to their franchise beyond whatever profit they make from the movie itself.

This one I don't think is as simple as numbers. If Blizzard has a hunger for it anything is possible.

Blizzard should really have released a warcraft 4 or reboot or remastered warcraft 1 or something to correspond with this tbqhwyf

I've got better things to do than to worry about Warcraft.

I'll let Blizzard do the worrying, literally. These fucks got money to burn.

MORE SCENES = MORE MONEY SPENT ON CGI = LESS PROFIT

the cut footage won't have finished effects

W-we don't know that
I'm just hoping we get a complete cut with all the scenes Duncan wants

Can it get any more summer than this?

Fucking jews ruin everything

>reddit
>kid
>anonymous
absolutely cringeworthy/10

that's two dimensions though bud

but i agree

flick and film are the wrong way around but yes this looks about right

>one axis is enjoyment
enjoyment is entirely subjective.

>high-fun, low-critical acclaim movie is a "film"
>a low-fun, high critical acclaim movie is a "flick"

Don't think you get the graph

Obviously because she was the only person who could speak Orcish and Human languages, as well as having knowledge on Orc culture and strategy etc.
Fucking retard.

>you will never see a version of the film where the orcs take stormwind and topple king Llane's body into the moat.
>you will never see a the scene of orc's taking Medivh's tower and using his magic against the humans.
>you will remain pleb, stupid, and blind to the facts forever, ignorant shill.
