El Sur
I watched all of them. It becomes a slog to get through the later ones. The formula is almost the same every single episode, but it's always entertaining. Watch the first three,, or at least the first one. Its cinematography his heavily influenced by Yojimbo, and Zatoichi is such a great character. 1, 8, 12, 13, and 17 were all great. I think there's only one episode that needs you to watch an earlier episode to understand it. Most can be watched randomly, but I'd still try and watch chronologically.
el sur isn't on criterion :(
Ah yes, Touch of Evil is my favorite Criterion
Thy did a lot of work restoring it
no they didn't
its on hulu, they worked on it and put it on there, just no dvd/br

just a heads up, my friendo. hulu is going to lose the criterion collection after this summer. they're partnering up with turner classic movies to create their own streaming service called filmstruck.

I like putting the discs in my blu Ray player and having nice collection shelves. You don't. Ok.
Best list. nice taste
>i like buying pieces of plastic to put on my shelf because i'm a consumerist sheep who doesn't really care about art xD
Damn shit indeed
>Supporting an artist means you don't give a shit about art
>continuously feeding a troll
>implying loving pieces of plastic isn't art
Seriously though I love this film

What about all the directors that aren't dead?

I bet you think you're less of a fag than me too.
This is essential Criterion viewing.

Valerie and Her Week of Wonders? Why not Alice in the Cities with the naked 6-year-old?
Yeah, I really enjoyed his work. BatB is lovely, Orpheus is absolutely singular. Surreal, maudlin. I enjoyed the Blood of a Poet as well but still need to close the trilogy out.
As part of the Ray box set.
