I've run into 6 "really into music" guys and they all listen to this and are basically the exact same in their tastes and personality. When will this shit stop? Its depressing to see.

the thing you have to understand most people aren't interested in music. at least not in a sincere way. take away the last.fm, rym, and any other avenues they have to show off their taste and their "interest" in music plummets dramatically. if they can't use music as a fashion accessory it's usefulness to them decreases dramatically. unfortunate truth.

Cuz for me, admitting you're a New Order person is kind of almost a shameful thing. You'll be talking to someone about Joy Division, and you'll slowly realize that the person you're talking to is really more of a New Order person. And it fills me with relief because I know I can just relax and talk about pop synths without being seen as a pleb.
