So, past efforts, how would you approach a Fantastic Four movie?

I wouldn't. The property itself isn't particularly good. They've tried 3 times now and have never made it work.

To be honest the first half of the new movie was pretty alright. It went to completely mediocre stuff after Miles Teller escapes the facility because the timeskip didn't allow us to watch the characters grow into their powers.

Give it to Marvel
Wait...
Profit like a mother fucker

best f4ntastic kino script coming thru

The problem is that the villains are the best part of the Fantastic 4. The Fantastic 4 themselves are pretty shit.

youtube.com/watch?v=kDzBVvhbtIw

As a science fiction adventure, rather than a superhero movie. Don't waste time on the origins, definitely don't make another whole movie focused on it. Doom can be in it, but not as the first film's villain, Annihilus, Mole Man or Super Skrull would be cool to see.

The main character is Doom, and always has been, Richards is only interesting to the degree that he rustles Victor and does crazy shit that is far beyond mortal authority

A good F4 film should emphasize that these two intelligence-based characters very commonly participate in events and cause problems that mere 'gods' are helpless against

Trying to humanize these characters is exactly wrong, they are the farthest thing from humans in the entire marvel universe. Richards is more disastrous in his meddling than a Old God or some equally extra-versal calamity, and Doom is so arrogant that he doesn't conform to human standards either

top fucking kek

This. I think they can work as support characters in other hero movies but Doom definitely works as a primary villain.

Make it trilogy
> 1st is about getting powers and has annihilus from negative zone as villain
> 2nd movie has doom, they get invited to latveria and doom wants to get revenge on reeds
> 3rd has galactus and shit
Also, spider-man cameo.

it would need a campy spirited tone very similar to the Sam Raimi spiderman movies

Why is Captain America the fire dude?

Fox needs to pull a sony, and let Marvel have the creative control.I would try to introduce Dr. Doom in a movie prior to the fantastic 4, maybe in doctor strange or black panther or something. It would be better as a period piece. You can bring in Hank Pym and introduce Wasp and other characters from silver age possibly. Just show the origin accident in a brief sequence. and then you could do fantastic four and intro galactus or silver surfer in teh first movie, allude to the space shit infity whatever, while playing doom as the thanos for future movies, but hes been introduced already in some other movie. just ntro old fantastic four in infity war movies, and then you can do flashback films and dr. doom centered stories with the fantastic four as his adversaries

Is it even possible to make Mr. Fantastic not look stupid as fuck?

>pic

What number comes next in the series:

1994, 2005, 2015, _____

Yeah The Silver Surfer's plight is interesting shit

>Gigantic cosmic being promises not to eat your world only if you continually lead him to other people's worlds

>The Fantastic Four
>Now featuring the Subhuman Torch

Make it a dark and edgy story about lust, pride and sloath

Because Evans is an all around hero.

2024

David Cross as the Thing

Gigantic cosmic space cloud*

Set it in a retro 60s Art Deco landscape, let Brad bird direct

All female cast

...

With the exception of a boy named Sue.

marvel can use the same cast, but just have it set in the 60s and 70s like the xmen movies. we can ignore that trank movie, but the same cast will just exist in the past. then get like tom hanks to make a cameo as an old reed richards.

Give it to marvel

pretty much this

sci fi family is their most unique aspect

Why does 2005 look worse than 1994? Also 2015 Thing was best Thing.

This is the Doom we need

>Hnnging at the cute fuccboi named sue

>Not getting the reference

Life ain't easy for a boy named Sue.

Assuming Marvel gets the rights? Go ham. Full ham. But I'd also do the unpopular thing and set the movie initially in the 60's. Which would mesh well as to why the FF aren't around for the rest of the MCU, and also sets up Doom as a sleeper.

The FF do their space science mission in the 60's, it goes wrong, they get lost in space but get their abilities, however the Doom with them died. Because he was a Doombot (of which they have no idea). Dramatic cut after they throw down exposition about getting back to earth and wandering around space and all that jazz. Regardless, they eventually land on a planet they think is Earth, it's not, instead we get more sprinkles of planet Hulk (assuming the set up for it already happened in Thor: Ragnarok) They have their dramatic bullshit with Hulk and his alien pals, and eventually Hulk and the FF find their way back to Earth after some alien punching.

Turns out their getting lost was due to the real Doom wanting Reed to fuck off forever. So the FF return home, Hulk wants to go do his revenge thing, but Doom interjects in full Doom regalia, much to everyone's surprise, turns out he has been studying the mystical arts since he sabotaged the initial FF mission and surprise kicks their collective asses, including Hulk's, only to find out that the FF were Skrulls all along as a stinger because the real FF are still lost in space.

Which would lead to possible sequels with the real FF escaping the Skulls, and include but are not limited to, a Doom solo movie, the Annihilation Wave with the Nova Corps, the Negative Zone, more Guardians bullshit, and whatever else Marvel wants to throw in related to space.

No origin story. Just set things up by going right to the core of the family, their fears, desires, relationships and Doom.
Base it on pic related, Fantastic Four: 1234 by Grant Morrison.

reboot and remake the entire franchise, The Thing is stupid and lame, so is Torch, he's just flame guy #5436435747

invisibility and force fields is kinda neat, but coolest thing about F4 is Richards intelligence and shit, and Doom ofc

>2005 Fantastic 4 had a director so shit, it made Jessica question her acting career

Don't forget to cry "pretty" guys

what was he thinking about?

I'd rather imagine fucking a fuck boi named sue than listening to jonny cash thanx

I'd rather you just kill yourself but we can't all get what we want

Cuckoldry.
How to beat Doom at his own reality warping game

Give it to Nolan.

He always turns it into a good film that has potential to be great but somehow he stops it short from happening but it's still entertaining nonetheless/10.

...

Well, in this case, I can get what I want but you can't.

>currently imagining fucking a boy named sue

I don't need to because the 2005 one was perfect.

Instead of paying lip-service to making it "body horror" follow an actual Cronenberg/Verhoeven model by creating a fairly bright and upbeat movie with moments of weird gross shit, make the characters' transformations bizarre and frightening at first, things they have to overcome, master and control. Meanwhile rip Doom's origin story from the comics - he's a Latverian heir who's Reed's classmate in college but gets easily frustrated (not "flexible" enough) and trashes experiments at the first sign of failure. Their first teleportation machine fucks up and explodes, giving Doom scars. He wears bandages on his face, horrified by his disfigurement but it's revealed he actually just has a minor scar that doesn't look so bad to anyone but him. He returns to Latveria and forges the Doom mask, putting it on while it's still red hot to truly disfigure himself. There's your origin story for everyone.

>There will never be a good F4 movie.
>There will never be a good Green Lantern movie.
>There will never be an Aquaman movie.

Just set them up in the background, a cameo in another Marvel movie here and there. They don't need a movie after three, everyone pleb knows about them now and at this point most people who already knew don't want more possible brand damage. So just give them good snippets, like five seconds of Tony talking tech with Reed about a problem, or the Human Torch helping out Spider-Man because they're basically best friends and then flying off. Just establish that yes, the Fantastic Four are a thing, why don't they have a bigger presence? Because like the Avengers they're always doing shit, but the Fantastic Four do more dimension and space fair so are rarely around to help Earth drama. If people bite with that, then maybe Marvel could try another movie with just their stuff.

imdb.com/title/tt1477834/

>but it's revealed he actually just has a minor scar that doesn't look so bad to anyone but him

No. Though I agree with Kirby that his "disfigurement" should be tied to his pride and vanity by a small scar rather than hamburger face like Stan wanted it to be, we should never see Victor's face after he becomes Doom. Hell, we should most often be in doubt if it's the real Doom they're dealing with at all, seeing that he has an army of near identical Doombots that can carry out his tasks with human-like precision.

This is actually worse news.

>tfw your fave franchise will never get made in to the movie you want.

geif xcom movie with a-list celebrities in it, that die on first mission; replaced with no name shitters mission after mission.

With possibly Mikkelsen as Doom and you're set.

Alright OP, I'm going to blow your mind. Ready?

Doom in the comics recently became God and after begrudgingly genuflecting has not been seen much since.

So, fuck everything, Doctor Doom, from marvel's mainline comic book continuity decides to take a vacation in the actual MCU. Literally dimension hopping his way into the movies from the Books all meta and shit. It's his movie, not the FF's, he goes to the MCU because they don't exist there, specifically for that reason. There, that's your movie. A Doom film about Doom doing anti-villain Doom things in a world where he fixes things in his special way and the FF can't intervene.

The minor scar was before he went all the way and became Doom though. It's great irony and a subversion of the usual "disfigured supervillain" that he only got a slight scar from the accident, but deliberately fucks his face up beyond repair after that by putting on a red-hot mask fresh out of the Latverian forge. Obviously they should never show him without the mask once he's put it on.

I need a SMUG AS FUCK reed richards.

Reed - Glenn Howerton
The Thing - The Rock in light make up, he's so big don't need CG to make him look massive compared to rest of cast
Torch - some diversity nigger, has to be teenager to fit with peter parker friendship
Sue - dgaf

I somewhat agree with you. Though I'd like to see a movie or a tv show one day, set them up in the MU at least at the beginning by having them in the background, or even just as a part of history (maybe the space mission was conducted in the 60s but no one has heard of them since, leaving Doom to welcome them and the world internationally once they appear again or something).
Though, like The X-Men, The Fantastic Four don't quite make sense within Marvel continuity. Here we have this godly adventure-scientists experimenting with miracle technologies that go beyond what Tony is making, that somehow don't spill into the real world to benefit mankind or even their standards of living.
It's such an oversight, it inspired an entire comicbook series by Warren Ellis that took a critical look at such "demi-gods".

do they have any villain that ISN'T doctor doom?

also i wouldn't make it an origin story or waste 80% of the runtime having them sit around doing nothing productive.

>I was once a god. I found it beneath me.

>science fiction adventure
>Annihilus, Mole Man or Super Skrull
Those are all capeshit

In this thread alone Moleman, Galactus, and the Skrulls have all been mentioned.

Literally all three of those were made so the rights wouldn't be lost. Marvel could probably pull it off. They did with Ant Man and thats an even lesser property than F4.

>but deliberately fucks his face up beyond repair after that by putting on a red-hot mask fresh out of the Latverian forge.

That was a relatively recent compromise made by Ed Brubaker in order to bridge the gap between how Jack Kirby wanted it and Stan Lee wanted it.
I enjoyed his Books of Doom, but I (and I imagine other Kirby fans) wasn't quite satisfied with that.

>Next Avengers movie
>News in background talking about the 30' anniversary of the 4 astronauts who lost in space during the entire movie.
>Shit happens, the Avengers save the day. Happy ending.
>Butwait.jpg
>News report about a strange object entering the atmosphere.
>Ohshit.png
>The thing is so fast that neither the government nor the Avengers can do anything about it.
>The thing from the sky is a spaceship.
>The spaceship lands in New York.
>News reporters, tanks, soldiers, all the fucking people is there.
>Spaceship opens its doors.
>The Fantastic 4 show up.
>Credits Rolls.

Several, lots of space villains.

with a stick

Truly the thinking man's fetish

>Dr. Doom saddled to this shit franchise

I just want Doom and Purple Man to exist in the same continuity.

The FF actually have some really great moments but I just want Doom.

>they acquired their powers a long time ago
>instead of being superheroes, they led lives as scientists, explorers, and philanthropists
>world is dumbstruck when they disappear into space, and never heard from again
>over the course of their space adventures, the team broke up (also they have somewhat reduced aging)
>over the course of Phase 4, individually reintroduce them into different movies
>Examples: Thing shows up in a Guardians 3, Johnny Storm in a Spider-Man 2, Reed in Captain Marvel 2, Sue in a Black Panther 2, Doom in a Avengers 4, etc.

Face it: Fox has polluted the brand. The words 'Fantastic 4 reboot' do not excite anyone even if you add Marvel Studios' in front. Through individual re-introductions, audiences can relate to the characters on the personal level, get to know them emotionally, and learn to love them again. Marvel would be free from the pressure of a reboot, audiences would be free from the nausea of a reboot, and the characters would be free to be individuals instead of forced chariactures in the team concept. The culmination of a Fantastic 4 reunion becomes something people will actually be excited about.

Anyone that thinks they just do a fullstop reboot is a idiot who's learned nothing from the characters' string of bombs. You need CHARACTERS, not stereotypes you fill into team like baby blocks.

>I'd also do the unpopular thing and set the movie initially in the 60's
That's the only thing people ever suggest.

>smirkfu as invisible woman
>stephen motherfucking graham as thing

Focus almost entirely on nailing Doom's characterisation. Nothing else matters. Nothing.

...

Wait, as in how recent? The comic I'm thinking of was from like the 60s or 70s, I remember reading it as a kid and that particular part really stuck out to me. It's really a great origin story to show the characteristics of Doom that lead him to become a supervillain, and it makes him a perfect foil to the FF, whose entire physical forms are fucked up but they learn how to live with it. I think a FF movie would go a long way by showing their transformations at the beginning not as them immediately being super-humans, but actual freaks. Like Dr. Fantastic can't stop his body melting and warping into silly putty, Johnny is constantly on fire and can't control his movements, the Thing is in pain from his skin turning into rocks, and there was one idea in I think the Trank FF that Susan Storm would appear as skinless or as a skeleton because she couldn't control her invisibility, sort of a Hollow Man thing. Establishing them as truly fucked by their mutations, then showing how they learn to not only cope with them but take advantage of them to become superhuman, would contrast perfectly with Doom getting one little scar and letting that ruin his entire life and make him a total misanthrope.

I was being factitious user.

No, that bit was written by Byrne in the 80s.

>Smirkfu
could take it or leave it. I honestly can't think of a really perfect Invisible Woman or Dr. Fantastic. Stephen Graham on the other hand fcfuck yes

Dr. Doom is at his best when dealing with the four. Without them, he's half the character.

He can fix his face wherever he wants he's the second most powerful sorcerer after Doctor Strange.

a silver sulfer / galactus storyline actually done well with top tier cgi could be amazing, but it's unlikely that they'd try that after it's already been attempted and fucked uo

Story definitely had a kind of porny/trashy aesthetic when it came to the ladies, I can really believe Alba's claim about him wanting her to cry pretty.

>Sci Fi adventures can't have antagonists

That's retarded. Just don't make it about fighting Doom to save New York or the World, or being government super soldiers or some other retreaded capeshit plot.

Mole man, with a time machine/journey to the center of the earth vibe. Or skrulls infiltrating Earth like invasion of the body snatchers, with Super skrull as the leader. Or traveling to the Negative Zone and get captured by Annihilus.

These would make for some simple, but classic sci fi adventure stories.

ioan grufford is best grufford
>hornblower

It's not like Thor is in any better shape. But Marvel makes it work. They can do the same for the FF.

How come 1994 looks the best?

Was the movie really that bad?

Follow the comics, of course.

It was mediocre. Nowhere near the Blade sequels or Elektra in terms of bad.

...

>Dr Doom was Lucas inspiration for Darth Vader.
>Somehow they can't translate it to the movies.

Which Doom would you like best? Smug, mocking, comical yet strong Doom.

Or Holy Christ how the fuck is he so fucking unstoppable hot damn DOOM ENDURES Doom?

what the fuck is up with ioan grufford? literally the only ff cast member who had zero career before or after the movie

The 2000 fantastic four was better than most marvel shit today

The people here saying FF is a boring property never read the classic run, and guaranteed never read the two Thing solos. Ben Grimm is one of the best Marvel heroes of all time, and as a family the FF work amazingly. The problem is the focus.

First film needs to establish that they are explorers moreso than heroes. Start it with Them coming back from a cool space adventure in hopes of finding new civilizations. Since Namor is off limits to FOX, I'd make the first villain the Moleman. Have Reed contract with the US military to go underground and look for the cause of massive earthquakes destroying multiple military bases around the world. Make it a "Journey to the Center of the Earth" story, leading the family to meet the Moleman, who has gained control of the Moloids and underground monsters. Moleman has been targeting military bases in preparation for an attack on the surface. As the FF attempt to stop him, Moleman takes interest in the Thing, who he believes to be of the same kin as him: Hated, considered a monster by the surface.
Have the movie end with a big fight that parallels FF #1. Focus on how well they work as a team.

Movie 2 I would have Doom, who is already the leader of Latveria, and is racing Reed to reach the Negative Zone.

Movie 3 would be the FF in the Negative Zone fighting Annihilus, taking cue from his first appearance and Annihilation. Establish the Watcher watching the team, and realizing they might be his only chance as stopping Galactus.

Movie 4 would be the finale, adapting the Coming of Galactus and showing the return of Dr. Doom as an uneasy ally only helping to save his people. Franklin Richards is introduced, and Reed starts to realize that he isn't getting any younger, and questions if he still has it in him to save the day. Ben has become a celebrity, and has moved in with his blind girlfriend Alicia. The film hints at a Silver Surfer spinoff.

>telling lies on the internet

Here.

Replace Johnny and I'm ok with this. Hes supposed to be a jock type pretty boy ladies man

Thank you. I actually only knew that line from Marvel Heroes.

I agree, a hot cup of ss for MU Spodermen.
