Goddamn boy

Goddamn boy

This movie is fucking awful

When there's a dead baby in the first 5 minutes you know you're in for something special.

No way this TFA-tier poster is real lmao

>one in the dark
>one in the light
this is the last time they spoke as friends

do you have something against dead babies or something

Lol was he just fed up with talking about this shit movie?

I really enjoyed it. The pacing was fucked because of all the cuts and the cgi with the griffon was ass but the characters (especially the orcs) were well developed with clear motivations and arcs, a plot that kept me guessing (never played the games) and no major character was safe. It was clear that a lot of love went into this movie and most of all it avoided emulating or trying to subvert Tolkien To be fair I love fantasy schlock though.

>Warcraft drops 82%
>only made 1.93 million

Holy fuck

>that awful orange/blue poster bait

disgusting

It's cringeworthy when you pretend you don't like the look of orange and blue. Its popularity is due to the fact that it's appealing to the human eye. At least you embarrassed yourself anonymously.

>40 minutes of cut footage is the only reason this flick is shit meme
the latest damage control lads
stay up to speed

...

I would say that's the largest reason, followed by inconsistent effects, and a clear dichotomy in the quality of the writing (orcs are played straight, humans are played campy/hammy, and scenes with Garona that went on too long were uncomfortable). That being said I enjoyed it on an aesthetic/action level and I hope that a directors cut is released.

I really don't k ow how the guy that made source code and fucking moon also made this piece of fucking trash

What I'm loving about a lot of the news around this movie is how it's a bomb in the US, but is a MASSIVE SENSATIONAL HIT in China.
It's still got time to go on it's run, but it's already dropped 80% in a week, and is still behind 3 other films in China this year alone, and like 9 or 10 over the past 2 years.

That's fucking brutal. I bet that killed any hope for a sequel

>literally making up numbers

What are some movies like warcraft?

My casual GF came out of the cinema absolutley in love with it, she normally doesnt even like movies.

She has seen LotR thought they were okay. I was wondering if there are many other fantasy epics that are good watches.

She likes the magic aspect of it too.

Sources apparently say it needs $500m to break even.
It's currently at just over $300m worldwide and has died in literally every market.

>every Ching Chong Chinaman goes opening weekend with their video recorders
>stay home and watch all their copies the 2nd week

B-b-buh China will save it!!!

it's clearly blue and red

Sword and Sorcery movies from the 1980s like Fire and Ice.

kek
KEK

There were """""people""""" on Sup Forums, just last week, trying to claim this flick would reach $700-800m+ because of China.

How does this work? I thought the budget was $150 million? Does this number not include distribution costs or something?

I just want sequels, is that too much to ask? Can't Blizzard crack open their piggy bank?

All of the shills have crawled back to their home.

mmo-champion.com/threads/2000244-I-KNEW-the-movie-would-flop

>Sources apparently say

Not every cent taken at the box office goes straight to the makers of a film.

what the fuck are you niggers talking about? it had a budget of 160 million and it made 330 million worldwide. they literally made double what they put in. how is that not a massive success?

Where the fuck was Turalyon?
Why didn't Lothar die?

still a flop boyo, like Pacific Rim. Which is getting a sequel but is still classified as a flop

see Holy shit Blizzshills are the most retarded fucking people on the internet.

Hollywood accounting is shit, most movies aren't profitable or only profitable by a hair.

i can believe that but unless you give me percentages of profits and how they're distributed then you're literally just talking out of your ass about this film being a flop. irrational anti-blizzfags are arguably worse because they will make up any excuse or argument to hate the company and its products

>irrational anti-blizzfags are arguably worse
No mate, take it from a neutral who saw this on the front page.
YOU are worse.

is the guy swinging the sword about to spank that chicks ass or something

>front page

oh it's reddit. hello.

>they literally made double what they put in
I hope you're not being serious.

Did this movie ever stand a chance?

This movie bombed in the U.S. For one simple reason. The critics threw it under the bus because of politics.

Azeroth : The West
Orcs : Refugees
Orc Planet : The Middle East
Humans : Westerners
Fel Magic : Islam
Blue Magic : Christianity
Red Orcs : Moderate Muslims
Green Orcs : Radical Muslims
Evil Orc Wizard : ISIS
Good Human Wizard : Christian Clergy
Evil Human Wizard : Judeo-Masonic Subverted Clergy

It only made like 25 million in the US

The leftist critics detected this allegory at least subconsciously and turned on the movie.

This. I hate this poster so much.

I saw another poster that had a greyish tint and better character layout yet I can never find a high resolution for it.

If anyone can find this one for me if you know it then please do

The mental gymnastics Blizzdrones will go through...

Made money in China. Prepare for a sequel.

It bombed because it's fanbase consists of PCfags who know how to pirate movies & unlucky enough a very good camrip came out before release

He wanted to get slam dunc'd.

In the name of the king

>asks a shitload of loaded or backhanded questions
>ends up looking like the dumbass

How do you fuck up your own interview so thoroughly? Duncan ended up talking to Adam like he was a child, using small words, so he could understand.
Adam got fucking destroyed here, and this is coming from a guy who hated the Warcraft movie.

is that any good though

see Ignoring really the only quoted break-even mark of $450-500m, a generous mark of $350m is still a ways off and nobody is seeing the film anymore, EVEN in China.
A sequel could very well happen, but it's less than likely, and you are genuinely deluding yourself if you still think this flick is a raging success.

...

>ITT: we post films this year (so far) that have been bigger in China than Warcraft

Nah, read the tone of the questions. He was trying to egg excuses or apologies out of Duncan and only got clear answers that he couldn't attack or argue with.
Duncan was clearly not going for movie of the year when he made Warcraft, and very much came off as a guy who aimed the movie at teens and older children from the start. Considering the warcraft franchise is aimed at older children and teams, this was a good move. The critic tried to see Warcraft as a movie for his own age group, and Duncan, possibly inadvertently, just made the interviewer look like he was too old to watch it.

That was last year lad
This is 2016 though, and is the highest grossing film of all time in China.

how pointless to post something like that in there, its like storming in a lion's den and shouting "lions suck".

This is probably the worst movie I've seen this year and I come as someone that loves Warcraft.

The orcs are really good and the action is well done, but what it's killing the movie is the pacing, the actors and the dialogue. First half is not that bad, but the second I almost left the theater, nothing was happening and people were just talking about uninteresting stuff and I died of laughter when Gomora kill the king it was fucking cringy and the hero comes like 5 seconds later, the king was fucking stupid and could have fought the orcs, but no, god that was stupid

Anyway it's a good attempt, would have been better with more credibly actors and a good writer for the story.

Yeah I liked it. Kinda like Warcraft with it feeling like a cheap flick

I enjoyed it
Better than capeshit that's for sure

>love warcraft
>Gomora

Sorry wrote that quickly because it's late now and I've already been ranting about that movie for the past hour with the people I've seen it. I have seen my error right after.

Sorry.

>G-GUYS CHINA IS GOING TO SAVE THIS
>made 2 million worldwide this weekend
>it's going to make less than Prince of Persia

...

duncan was pretty based in this interview and dealt with this fag's snarky questions excellently.

Gorona was looking fucking hot in this, tho.

that's warcraft 2 stuff, the second war

jesus christ it must be hard to live in your world

lmao Sup Forumsfags are hilarious

The scenes of Lothar trying to rape her weren't, neither was the implication that the King fucked her or something with their touchy feely

>writing all this bullshit
>screencapping his own post
the autism is strong

Meanwhile the Chinese didnt view this movie at all as political but just as a fun fantasy movie

Ever heard of studios?

I watched it high as fuck.

I loved it.

How did they manage to let a high person into the cinema?

Oh wait you are a poor fag

I'm in Vancouver and people go to movies high all the time.

I don't really get what you mean by "poor fag".

sauce?

Hate that color on the poster.

This one is so much better

I thought that was the lotr from the thumbnail

It was great. I saw it on a wagecuck day so the theatre was really empty, I got the entire row to myself. Splashed out and saw it in 3d, even bought some popcorn and drink (it's a small cinema so no crabs legs). Very comfy.

But did u like it

why did medivah turn into a bad guy?

all the fucking show times are at night here.
don't want to go in with the normies

>It was great
Yeah man I really did but I'll admit I'm no patrician. It was definitely flawed (stuff like )
but if you're a fan of the games you'll really enjoy it.

Never played the games but i read this: his mother battled some demon years ago which put a curse on her child which is Medivh. So somehow that turned him evil

>on the front page

People tend to forget about Blu-Ray/Digital/DVD (lol) sales play a big role as well.

oh
well for something as important to the movies story I would have thought they would do something to explain it

You're mentally ill.

One of the few things I hope they actually covered in the missing 40 minutes. Though, I'm sure they did, considering it's sort of something that shouldn't really be left out.

Duncan Jones didn't have full creative control either, and supposedly didn't really have much control over editing. So I wouldn't doubt it to have been something cut just because the studio's editors were like "ah fuck it they can figure it out themselves somehow lol"
