I really like the instrumentation on the second track. It's mixed in such a stark, minimalist way. I have a tendency to clutter the mix with a bunch of "wall of sound" type stuff.
The first track is just super pleasant, very atmospheric. I'm digging it. Some people might complain that it's somewhat lo-fi, but I love that sound; I find it endearing because I grew up on punk and indie before I got into electronic and industrial (what I make).
I can't really give any advice because I like this stuff so much. The first track reminds me of Yume Bitsu in terms of atmosphere.
I kinda feel weird about this stuff. I like some and others I'm not too keen on. I like the video you made today, though I feel it could use a more interesting harmonic component. The next couple videos are really nice, but after that I kinda was just "meh." Not bad by any means, you've definitely developed a neat aesthetic. I'm interested to see what else you make in the future, so I followed your bandcamp.

Today I released some dark, demonic hip hop beats:
and one other. My main influences on guitar are Buckethead, Tosin, Yngwie, Jason B, Tony Mac, Feodor Dosumov, and Daniel Davidsen.
This is my soundcloud. I make progressive jazz fusion, but its electronic. No real instruments. I make it all in fruity loops, and more recently, garage band on my iPod. soundcloud.com/jessecarpenter0

I'm groovin' hard to Steel Rain as I type this. Great stuff! Would lose my shit to this live
It needs less people think a song is just the same shit repeated over and over again and adding stuff to it over time. Not to mention people who have no fucking clue what an intro is, what an ending is, what any sense of progression is, etc. Seriously it's not a song if its just a bunch of the same riffs with various percussion/noise layers added every 4/8 bars...
your percussion high end is far too prominent, the groove is nice though, the bass could be a little higher in the mix, after 1:10 it is great
unblvbl is sick, so nice, great stuff
end of the world is mixed far too high in the mids, if you want to make hip hop you have to give the beat the most clarity to give reference to the flow. i would suggest side chaining the kick and giving the hats some more high end
yes, best in the thread, absolutely gorgeous, no advice other than keep it up
brilliant, getting a flylo/madlib vibe and the sampling and instrumentation are superb, well done
also there's this mashup that I did combining brazilian funk with The Beatles' Revolver: vimeo.com/193204413

this is me : : cool music video and cool music, keep at it dreamy stuff, reminds me of atlas sound. you should try putting together something more visual for your videos rather than just the album cover. weird (but in a good way), which seems to be what you're going for nice to seem some good ol acoustic folk. keep making videos like this one, it's very well done
thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback. the videos I made for my first album were done before I got my camera, so i just used archival videos I found online. everything since then are essentially me trying out new things and learning to use my camera. currently working on my third album, which will be a big step up for my music and the videos that go along with it.
So much music in this thread, it's hard to give feedback to everyone, please forgive me my cherry-picking genres I usually like.
pietsomniac.bandcamp.com/album/tributes-to-hydrogen-balloons-ep My recently recorded EP, featuring vocals (singing, growls, screams, spoken word) >rock-ish, indie-ish, some post-rock and post-hardcore influence - I'd love you to put genres on it, I have a hard time decribing it
soundcloud.com/pietsomniac Work in progress versions of my EP songs and other stuff, some acoustic songs.
Hope you enjoy, back to giving feedback.
Sounds neat, I liked the gameboyish tone of Flow a lot. I'm not too much into the genre in general, but you nailed it in some of your songs.
Nice song, commented on soundcloud. Agree with your bio, everybody should at least try digging into the journey called music at some point.
I really liked the home video style of the video, the song sounds nice as well. Felt a bit like travelling in time.
The rap parts seemed to have a nice flow. Did not like the high beeping noises in the background too much, though.
Feedback given on soundcloud as well
so much music to sift through. I enjoyed the calm atmospheric sound of Gateway/New Name and will be coming back for more once I've given more feedback to others in this thread.
