Despite Texas beating a better opponent than A&M, A&M was receiving more votes in week 1 (Texas didn't get a single vote) which is why they're ranked higher. Miami was also on the cusp of being ranked in the initial poll. That puts them at #25 following an impressive win despite UCLA and UNC losing close games to ranked opponents. LSU and Oklahoma just survive as they were top 5 teams that lost close (LSU) and/or to another ranked team (Oklahoma). FSU jumps Clemson by beating a quality opponent while Clemson struggled. Everyone else like TCU, Washington, Stanford and Iowa just move up by proxy given Tennessee and Michigan State looking like ass.

Teams like Sparty and TCU struggled to be FCS teams. They deserve no spot in the top ten. I know Tennessee went to OT with App State, but they at least are an FBS team. If you schedule a team in the FCS, and you don't anhilate them, you don't even deserve to be ranked.
