Is anyone else going? I've been following the development of this for years. I am so hyped I will get to see it on the big screen. I'm going to bring an extra large bag of spaghetti for this one.

capekino confirmed

Looks like absolute trash. Must have spent too much money getting the voice actors back to put any budget in the animation.

It's really funny for those iconic shots when they go from their cheap-ass style to tracing Brian Bolland. I feel for anyone that was looking forward to this trainwreck.

1st r rated? wtf, was flash paradox not rated r?

trailer looks like absolute shit

Flashpoint was PG-13

>Kevin Conroy
>Mark Hamill

It literally can't be bad then.

>tfw accidentally saw that shit with the voice actor for Bender as Joker and ended up vomiting, partially because to many cups of easy mac but also partially because of how bad it was

>visuals

Who cares? It's about the plot and the voice actors.

What the fuck is The Joker holding?

It's like a LeMat, but then it's all wrong because there's no loading rod or anything. Who the fuck draws this shit?

The animation looks shitty worse than almost all of the other DC animated films.

>Who the fuck draws this shit?

Someone who isn't autistic about gun part details.

>One night only theatrical release

I'm going to assume it's US only, so I won't be seeing it in cinema. Which is a pity, I wonder what kind of an experience something the quality of Batman TAS would be when seen on the huge screen.

They should have hired Japanese animation studio like Madhouse to do the animation for it.

...

Mask of the Phatasm was shown in cinema and it's the closest to true Batman kino that they're ever going to get.

So fucking tired of the "Mark Hamill is a good Joker" meme.

The animations looks like shit

He's in fact the best joker. I'm sorry for your shit taste user.

wow. wonder woman literally hanged children and batman shot zoom in the head on camera

Actually, now he mentions it, the barrel does look a bit off relative to the handle.

That said, It probably looms different enough to avoid copyright issues, or patent. I assume gun design is an intellectual property like any other?

Even Youtube shorts have better animation

its an animated movie based on comic books a genre based almost entirely on visuals. to pretend otherwise is willful naivete... stop trying to flailingly defend this turd

>why would you care about the visuals in a visual medium? are you some sort of retard?

Visual quality is a concern for MBTI sensors who don't have the mental appreciation for actually important non-sensory things like plot.

What's the value of doing an animated movie if you're not going to do it well? It's already an exceptional comic and this doesn't even try to live up to that.

Who draws two barrels for no reason whatsoever?

You wouldn't draw a car with two steering wheels for no reason, would you?

That makes sense with old black powder guns since you'd ram the powder and ball inside of the cylinder without taking it out of the gun, but this shit here makes no sense at all.

Hackfraudartists/10

maybe you meant ejection rod?

His Joker in TAS was great. I'm not a huge fan of making him this dark as shit Joker like they did in the Arkham games.

They should have just outsourced it to the Japs, who then outsources it to South Koreans, who then again outsources it to North Korean Ex-pats working in bunkbeds on tablets for 16 hours a day.

>You wouldn't draw a car with two steering wheels for no reason, would you?

I wouldn't care either way. If it has a few wheels and it looks like a box holding people then the artists did their job.

no, the comic's great, you can't change that

nonetheless, the animation looks awful

Could be an ejector rod, but why make it the full length of the barrel and hollow?

maybe the animator thought the gun had 2 barrels, I dunno

>>>/no/

Animation looks like ass. Why did they decide to be cheap for such a well-liked story?

>Who cares about visuals in a visual medium!

Long time comic geek.

I'll be the one to say it:

The Killing joke is shit.

Yer a liar, this looks like bottom of the barrel trash just like all the other straight to video Batman cartoons.
At least the Teen Titans one looked alright.

It's just visuals it doesn't matter. If you can tell that it's supposed to be a car or a gun then they've succeeded. It's not like looking at better details make you feel better like a cigarette or ice cream would, you just want to nitpick to feel superior to whoever drew those images.

Not him but I was taken aback by how bad it looked in the trailer.

Fucking HBO Spawn looks better.

>elder god tier
I haven't read that one but to me that would seem like flawed writing. The villain is supposed to be the one you're routing against.

>joker
>great tier
Nah. Pretty good rankings otherwise

>Animation looks like ass. Why did they decide to be cheap for such a well-liked story?
Because they know that people will still see it.

overrated, of course.
shit, no.

also your scale is shit too. come back when you grow out of your teens

>I've been following the development of this for years
But they only announced they were working on it last year

>I'll be the one to say it
You're late to that party mate.

I think you would enjoy Transformers more than anything discussed in this image or thread.

Moore said it was shit because he was still thinking about the Comedian from Watchmen when he was writing the Joker. It kinda explains the whole World War speech.

memory problems? or just bait?

If you just bend the story so that the heros are doing something stupid while the villains are always right then your book is broken as shit.

Scale is perfect. Don't give me the Tommy Lee stare.

it kind of doesn't.

>Copyright issues make sense because black powder.
Wuh...?

PG-13 stuff in America

dat implied rape though, dat triggers censors

what if one of the minor changes they make is showing actual rape?

no he said it was shit because he wanted Batman to kill the Joker but DC wouldn't let him

Whats the whole big deal of "The Killing Joke"? Its not even canon, all its notable for is its shock value

>muh edgy, pointless MOM'S GONNA FREAK villain motivations are superior to both reluctant and retribution plots

also Alan Scott is a fag now so congrats, homosex domesticated the power that domesticated the Starheart. Do you feel progressive yet?

As much as I enjoy his comics, he's a fucking insufferable piece of work.

but it is canon, the attack and paralysis lasted for years before reboots

>Its not even canon

It definitely is canon though. That's why they had Barbara Gordon in a wheelchair afterwards.

it's like when you read Batman Year One, it doesn't seem like a big deal NOW but back then it wasn't common and became very influential over time.

Bruce Timm himself hated The Killing Joke. It's too bad they couldn't have gone with a better Batman story.

Troy Baker does Mark's Joker vice better than Mark.

Is the Joker origin cannon though? That's the most interesting part of it. The whole batgirl torture comes off as tryhard by the writers, and just reduces the character of batgirl as a plot device

he's not that good, he's probably a cynic who never truly enjoyed the medium but recognized it had advantages he could exploit, and that he did with Miracleman and Watchmen. But I think most of his contempt is aimed at his audience, he probably thought of himself as a novel writer who couldn't get published and had to resort to comic books instead as some sort of step down.

from what I can tell so far, Jared Leto's gonna do the only voice to rival Hamill's

Batman arguably does kill the Joker though.

I meant the offset "barrel" being an ejector rod for cartridge revolvers makes sense.

It's a Colt SAA drawn by an animator from memory.

It probably only gets a few seconds of screentime.

correct, both Moore and Grant Morrison agree he kills the joker at the end

Under the Red Hood was great fuck you

>and just reduces the character of batgirl as a plot device

Batgirl got more interesting as Oracle.

Fact.

>Is the Joker origin cannon though?

No, he even says if he has a backstory he'd prefer it to be multiple choice, he's so deranged he'll make up anything, same for him telling Harley his dad beat him

Batgirl was a shit character anyway

DC should just stick to their animated films, they're miles better than the live action shit

Batgirl Year One is great

>Colt SAA
only the drum looks like a SAA, the barrel's too wide and nobody would misremember the ejector rod looking like a second barrel or extending that far away from the drum

not that any of it truly matters of course, I'm just a bit disappointed the animation isn't better. This was the exceptional return of Conroy and Hamill, it deserved a bit of a better effort.

>Watching comic movies for plot

lol

It's a western cartoon. The characters have the same problems.

But thats was the best part of it. I might catch flak for this but I agree with most of the criticism the story receives for Joker sexually assaulting batgirl,

My issue isn't that its not something the Joker isn't capable of, but when she was originally introduced as a character before "The Killing Joke" the tone of the comic and of Gotham was more , for a lack of a better word, "camp", where these type of situations wouldn't occur to Batman's sidekick. As the tone evolved to a more serious and dark some character portrayals evolved while others didn't. If the Jokers action become more homicidal and violent then Batman's actions should change as well, and he shouldn't have child sidekicks like Barbara and Tim Drake who are put in the crosshairs.

I know people will say its just shows how fucked up Bruce is that hes willing to have children sidekicks and put them at risk, but thats just a lazy excuse.

I'm not against Barbara becoming paralyzed in the line of fire, to me the torture and sexual assault doesn't fit in.

Why does every animated DC movie look absolutely horrible?

I forget that every brand has brain dead corporate drones like this. It's impressive actually

>that gun perspective

People actually get paid money to draw this poorly

Are Marvels any better?

>I'll need some guys... not these guys because well they're kind of dead *laughter*

THE ABOVE IS AN ACTUAL BENDER-JOKER QUOTE FROM THAT PIECE OF SHIT "MOVIE."

>I agree with most of the criticism the story receives for Joker sexually assaulting batgirl
it's implied for the most part, and Moore is a known degenerate anyways who's capable of writing in rape in a story about elderly eunuchs.

The tone was fine, having problems with one type of violence but not another is just inconsistent if you're going to praise the story anyways.

they're significantly worse and DC's were the best out there but the quality has significantly diminished in the past couple of years

But its just shock value. It doesn't add anything to the Joker's character that hasn't already been done in "A Death in the Family". All it is is torture porn.

i literally could have animated this movie better

MORE ACTUAL QUOTES FROM WHAT IS OBJECTIVELY THE WORST BATMAN MOVIE EVER:

>I don't know what clouds your judgement worse, your guilt or your antiquated sense of morality.
>Bruce I forgive you for not saving me. But why, why on God's green Earth is he still alive?!?!
>*laughter*
>Gotta give the boy points! He came all the way back from the dead to make this shindig happen!

>SHINDIG

>But its just shock value.
yeah, that was the point, to shock Gordon into becoming deranged.

Also I don't see how it's torture porn when nothing about it was explicit, I'm not going to defend it saying it was "necessary" or some other bullshit, all I'm saying is that it's consistent with the rest of the story and there's no particular reason why it would stand out unless people are looking for a reason to be mad at it.

The potential Joker origin was interesting, the whole batgirl torture didn't really add on to the character of the Joker that hadn't already been done in "A Death in the Family". It just took a decent character and shitted on her.. Even though she became a better character later it still could of been done with out going to the extremes in story.

but the story is not Joker's origin, it's Gordon overcoming the Joker's musical number and Batman failing it. Barbara being the catalyst is only that, it could have been another tragedy with a different character as long as it justified both outcomes.

You need to have excessive use of the word "fuck", rape, boobies, or impalement to get an R rating. Impalement is the likely why Matrix Reloaded is rated R and why they chose to shoot Zoom in the head instead of pic related.

The sexual abuse wasn't specific, but the physical abuse was.

Its just bad story telling though. I know most incarnations of Batman he is portrayed as having a "no kill" rule, which is done to keep him from becoming the things he fights against, thats fine. But theres no reason why he should try to prevent Jim Gordan from killing Joker, or have Gordan morally against killing Joker. Gordan isn't a vigilante, he is a cop who is legally allowed to kill people in certain situations. It can be argued he is legally justified to kill Joker as a cop to prevent him from harming others, and he is definitely legally justified as a citizen to kill the Joker to protect his himself and his family from bodily harm.

Thats my issue where the antagonists are allowed to evolve and do different things but the protagonists still act like boy scouts even when they are put in situations that it is impossible to act in that way.

>But theres no reason why he should try to prevent Jim Gordan from killing Joker
did you even read the book? Gordon tells Batman NOT to kill the Joker and he kills him anyways, that's the joke.

Don't talk about stuff you don't understand.

Will this be the ultimate Batkino?

youtube.com/watch?v=8ZmXK87tWlQ

Nigga, film is a visual medium

holy fuck

Batman didn't kill the Joker
