Alison's Halo

Already a huge Courtney fan, good mention
how rock would you prefer they be?
Always into the kind of lofi upbeat style, the Courtneys/sonic youth type stuff
Th' Faith Healers
palm
>Cat Power
>Julie Doiron (she was in Eric's Trip, I personally heavily prefer her solo material. Her first 'solo' album is actually an album with the band The Wooden Stars as her band, check that one out for sure)
>Matt & Kim
>Rilo Kiley
>Hop Along
>Mirah (frequent collaborator with Phil Elverum)
>The Blow (members also worked with Phil Elverum)

you legitimately enjoy kim gordon's singing?
Its pretty sloppy and rough, but it works on songs like shadow of a doubt ,the sprawl, little trouble girl and brave men run etc
more power to you. I wish I did. I like Sonic Youth but her vocals detract from the songs IMO
Dude Shadow Of A Doubt is one of the best songs ever, that sucks you can't get into it
>sonic youth
>upbeat
hmmm
Today's girl indie is actually really good but it was fun growing up as a girl music fan in the 90s, it was the golden age, I think 2010s are definitely the silver age.

The Sprawl is such a cool song.
cub and heavenly are good too but they're twee also SPORTS
Most Kim songs are pretty great regardless of the vocals, Sprawl into Cross the Breeze is amazing, Star powe has a cool vibe and Pacific coast highway has a kinda eerie/melancholic breakdown
this, but their latest album is the best
nice list
here's more newer ones

also Liz Phair's first few albums and Alvvays are previously mentioned excellent suggestions.
That Charly Bliss song would have been a massive fucking hit in 1994, holy shit. It's like a perfect 90s alternapop song that was made 20 years too late.
