Don't play much video games but BB has some good stuff
Either Oblivion or Halo 3 are my pics. Listening to both and the nostalgia is fucking overwhelming
uh there's a good chart somewhere but check this out
youtube.com
Been listening to this since it came out
Baldur's gate
because fucking Michael Hoenig
Halo's music is phenomenal
youtube.com
original or not?
if not, Driv3r
if original, halo 2
youtube.com
Agreed. The gregorian chants give me goosebumps. Partly because of the music itself, but also the memories and emotions associated with it.
Oblivion>Morrowind?
To each their own, then...
Vanilla Oblivion is the GOAT
You can't be playing Uniracers and not have a rocking good time
youtube.com
>all's well
>minstrel's lament
>harvest dawn
Doesn't get much more comfy to be quite honest with you family.
Quake 1 is the only acceptable answer
oh man, seriously one of the most gripping DLCs ever, The soundtrack is an added bonus. That Laurence part2 thoooooo
Fallout: New Vegas. There is no question about that one for me. The score is great.
youtube.com
And the OST had some nice songs too.

nostalgic af
I get that you think so given watchman´s ease and minstrel´s lament but come on, Morrowind had such a good soundtrack, tracks like the road most travelled and peaceful waters are enchanting as fuck.
Not the entire soundtrack, but The Dawn Will Come (strings only version) from DA: Inquisition. Perfect feel
and by Laurence I meant Ludwig part2
I never play games. Any game soundtracks out there that aren't just serious sounding classical-inspired tunes but actually have some artistic merit? I mean the stuff you post is atmospheric but it's so run of the mill.
Now, I fucking love Morrowind. But there's a point where the same track on loop (assuming you're playing vanilla and not getting into combat too often) gets old quick.
Well, there's not much use for music in video games at all other than for cinematic effect. Same goes for movies. It's all to elicit an emotional response.
Fair enough, i could listen too peaceful waters for hours. Not shitting on oblivion tho, loved the soundtrack, loved the quests, especially the one dark brotherhood quest when you are locked in a house with a bunch of other dudes, and you have to murder em one by one. I think it was called whodunnit or something. so good
SimCity 3000 and SimCity 4 have pretty nice soundtracks
I usually come into these threads to post Yasunori Mitsuda but today I'll just post The Sims
youtu.be
The only correct answer.
Frank Klepacki stuff from Red Alert/ Other CnC games.
...
Call the rest of the game overrated, I don't give a shit. The soundtrack is impeccable.
From before NIN went to shit.
That quest was perfect. I wonder what happened to all of Bethesda's creativity.
Oh wait, Todd Howard is a sellout Jew
The ocarina tunes are beautiful but the rest of the music is pretty run of the mill
Buy the soundtrack, skip the game.
Gerudo desert theme, tho.
I disagree, but that's okay. Can you show me similar music to the temple themes? I haven't heard anything else like it besides in later Zelda titles
I mean some of skyrims tracks arent bad either. Far horizons, Dragonborn and the streets of whiterun is pretty good.
And originally you could lose the civil war in skyrim, so there is that.
I think bethesda ended up caring more mass appeal, instead of focusing on great, hard and immersive gameplay. Look at fallout 4.
I doubt that you'll listen to the youtube links that I post, so here's a small list.
>Hitman Blood Money
>Skyrim (The only good thing about the game 2bh)
>Deus Ex
>Machinarium
It's corny but pure
And the production is actually tight considering it was released in 1989
>Buy the soundtrack, skip the game.
I was on Sup Forums the other day and saw some guy posting this soundtrack on a music thread. Never played NieR/Drakengard, why should I skip the games? The track "Songs of the Ancient Fate" make me want to play the game since I want to know when that track plays.
This shit right fucking here, my nigga.
I seriously do not get tired of Big Iron, no matter how many times I hear it.
For as few tracks as Mojave Radio had on it, I was still fine with leaving that shit on all day every day.
>(Only good thing about the game)
How to spot a Sup Forumstard that repeats other people's opinions to try to fit in in one single sentence. Suddenly, a year ago everybody on this fucking site started hating on Skyrim like it's one of the worst games of all time, it's got its flaws, but in no fucking way is the game bad.
Terrible meme
the exploration is bretty fun. a shame the combat is shit though
Some bits of the design were suspect for a 360/PS3 game (i.e. it played more like an Xbox/PS2 game), but it's definitely not a game to avoid. Given the amazing character writing and worldbuilding, it's a definite B-tier gem. I'd say ignore the other fag and pick it up.
LMAO the game is trash dude, sorry you are so new that you think the hate started a year ago
agreed
skyrim gets far more shit than it deserves
>I'm so autistic that I can't handle different opinions
What the fuck is your problem, I really don't like Skyrim, I prefer Morrowind.
Go back to your epic stealth archer playthrough and quit crying.
Vtmb gothic ii diablo ii
morrowind was great, stunning and fun. But atleast you can hit things in skyrim 100% of the time if you have 15 in a skill.
how does it compare to Final Fantasy?
Do I need to play the Drakengard games before Nier? I'm so confused.
Even though it's ambient it's so memorable, or maybe that's because I've played it countless hours.
>implying that's a bad thing
That's why Morrowind is a role-playing game and Skyrim isn't.
youtube.com
What's so unique about it?
>how does it compare to Final Fantasy?
It doesn't. NieR is a hack'n'slash RPG with bullet hell elements, not even comparable to the new FF. NieR is very much its own thing, for better or worse.
>Do I need to play the Drakengard games before Nier? I'm so confused.
No. Just play NieR. It takes place a thousand years after Drakengard and is pretty much standalone.
>Skyrim isn't an RPG
lmao2urlife
Thanks brah. How many Nier games are there? I have a PS3 and PS4.
...
Then you're covered. The first is on PS3 and the sequel is currently in development for PS4.
I know but, i think a better idea would have been to lower the damage to the skill, i mean you are at least competent enough to hit things with your sword, even if you are not that effective.I do miss leveled areas and loot, i miss the strange atmosphere and i miss orienting after landmarks. So you are right morrowind is far superior to skyrim in every way when it comes to Roleplaying
>What's so unique about it?
This guy did a couple videos about it.
youtube.com
Oblivion was better
Thanks for the link. Sounds good, but I really don't hear much more than a passing similarity in the atmospheric vibe (and once the percussion comes in, they're almost nothing alike).
I think my favorite thing about OoT, and what makes it unique, is its use of sampling. Part of that is just the era, since lots of other games did similar things, even using the same samples, but OoT (and MM) used them in a way that really tied into each place and helped bring it to life. Here's a few pieces that come to mind.

>no baba yetu in this thread
This was the first video game song composed that won a Grammy. That has to count for something. This is one of my favourite live versions but there are plenty of amazing covers and fan projects. Plus the original is just as great.
Should be the anthem to makind in my opinion
Plus it's the Lords Prayer in Swahili
Did somebody already post this?

Risk of Rain
OG Binding of Isaac
Select elder scrolls tracks
Good ol' halo triple
Darkest Dungeon is nice, too
Half Life 2
It's a shame Civ never had a theme that good again. Still gives me chills.
Speaking of Civ
youtube.com
I was just listening to that. 7 years ago this year. Crazy that Civ4 came out that long ago.
New Vegas
Ludwig the Accursed + Holy Blade is a legitimate masterpiece. I mean, godDAMN. fuck fuck fuck fuck. Only from Bach, Beethoven, a few pieces of Mozart, one or two Stravinsky pieces have I EVER gotten that consistent of chills, and these last through the entire piece. Every fucking time.
Lady Maria is definitely a better fight though.
>not posting any of the Mysterious Broadcast
I love you, bruh, but step up
>video games
>art
eat shit you deaf self-fellating reptile
Yes. What about it?
Enjoy your (You) fampai.
Besides, who said anything about the artistic (Autistic) merit of games? We're just posting soundtracks here my dude.
>music

The early Spyro games
you cant say that FFXV tracks werent comfy as fuck
>just ridin with yo bros on a cool ass roadtrip
>dope music, its all chill

too many good memories of 0 responsibilities
like if u cry evry time
I'm glad we have the same idea about Bethesda, user.
Skyrim does have some perfect tracks but I can never name my favourite
Risk of Rain has some zesty tracks. So does Super Meat Boy
But overall, I'd have to agree with Oblivion
i like san andreas
Final Fantasy X has a pretty good soundtrack.
youtube.com
yeah, i think its sad that bethesda sacrifices quality for mass appeal.
I did enjoy the opening theme of skyrim tho, my favorite of the three variations on the theme.
Objectively correct answer.
