Tfw rent is 1100 a month

>tfw rent is 1100 a month

Who here also Poorfag and how do you survive on a low income?

You buy pasta, potatoes, carrots and other cheap healthy foods. It's absolutely possible to make it on 250 a month, you just need to learn to cook.

Also at some point you're going to want to think about a better job.

If you prove yourself can you get a living wage?

can't you find a flatmate?

There isn't any room for a roommate

>tfw rent is $600
>tfw make $2,000 a month

Still poor as fuck, but not as poor as OP :^)

$1100/mo? Where the fuck are you?

as what are you working and where?

You're paying too much. You are poor because you don't understand this.

>tfw own home and pay about $1200 a year in property taxes
>tfw making $5200 a month

I would watch out if I were you. Since US healthcare is worse than the one in Africa you could die from any kind of sickness. Cut down the rent money my man

>tfw rent is 1,347.46/month here
>tfw still living in a ghetto

Housing prices and rents have risen to absurd levels over here...

Maybe you dumbshits should move.

I live in ontario canada

what do u do

Don't lower your standards and eat like a third world citizen. Pick up another part-time job. An extra $300 a month can make a huge difference. Cut out shit you don't use but don't lower your standard of living. Money is an idea and your brain is a magnet. Think of a way to do it & take action today. (Had 3 shit jobs in college, made $, stayed busy, met good people.) You can do it. Don't eat ramen noodles and get cancer from the flavor packets ffs.

If I move to a place where it's cheaper here, there are no jobs.

If I want another apartment for rent, I have to wait 10+ years in line thanks to a severe housing shortage that's been going on for almost 10 years now, and the insane influx of immigrants last year didn't make things better, what with the state buying up apartments for the immigrants, driving up the prices/waiting lines even more.

Chef at Wendy's?

Ayyy then it's all good. But still, search for a way to cut down that rent my man.

I work at a factory in ontario canada, there's nothing in my area hiring that pays more than 12 dollars an hour and I have no car or drivers license because I wouldn't be able to afford to drive

Good advice. I recently went back to eating ramen noodles because I wanted to save money, and I just felt like shit all the time and it sucked ass. It 's worth working hard to get a good meal and nutrition imo.

E-7 in the military (managing IT).

>tfw been eating rice, eggs and potatoes for a month

Iktf man. I was trying to save money so I hardly ate and when I did it was cheap spaghetti noodles with ketchup on it and I was feeling like complete shit after 2 weeks of that

Split your rent with someone, or find somewhere cheaper to live.

>own my own house
>mortgage ~900/month
>charge my roomie 200/month
>he does all the chores and bullshit

life is good

>don't lower your standard of living.
That's great advice for poor, entitled millennials.

>tfw I'm 29 and poor as fuck
>tfw 17 year olds have better jobs and make more than I do

Just work more OP. Even at minimum wage you're only working 45 hours a week.

I work two jobs at around $9.00 an hour and bring home about $3400 a month.

I think it's possible to still be frugal and get good meals in while not being dirt cheap and eating only starches. Just takes some effort. I guess the effort is the hard part (getting jorbs, cooking).

You must be working 24/7

Sounds like you made some poor decisions in life.

Get smarter.

Tfw i make $12/hr
Tfw 40 hrs a week facotry job
Tfw 19
Tfw i made $16/hr delivering pizza

move out of your shitty studio apartment downtown

>I guess the effort is the hard part (getting jorbs, cooking).
Cooking isn't hard unless you're a fucking idiot.

80-100 hours a week.
Fuck it. I'll sleep when I'm dead.

I know what you mean brah, growing up I didn't realize money was the most important thing in life and now I just want to an hero because I'll never be able to live a normal lifestyle like everyone else

>tfw having to walk to work for 2 hours in -15 degree weather for 2 months of the year
>tfw people with money have vehicles to drive and go places

Agreed. But, most people are fucking idiots and eat frozen chicken nuggets and hot pockets every day (I do love me some pizza poppers though, won't lie)

You mother fuckers living in colorado too? Same shit as OP, spend 100 on food a month mfw i see my bills. Gentrification is real out here,.

Sharing a studio apartment sucks, but it can be done for a short spell.

Or you could look for "rooms for rent". Living in somebody's spare bedroom can be comfy, and if things are that bad, there will be lots of people looking to make ends meet.

Why do you suck so bad?
Me and my gf pay under $300 a month for house and I make about $3500

Frozen chicken nuggets etc are expensive as fuck I eat spaghetti noodles with ketchup on them and it costs me 1.50 for 3 days of food

what kind of life is that

Get a better job and lower rent. I live in a nice 680 sqft apartment for $720 a month and make $3600 per month after taxes. Just don't settle.

We don't all live in the states where everything is cheap as fuck. Canada is stupid expensive

brb, checking my chicken nugget privilege

I live in Sweden, not the U.S

This

I know a guy who works 80 hours a week and he literally can't do anything "fun" because he's working constantly, I'd rather not have a car or anything he has and actually get to enjoy myself on weekends

Not much right now, but he'll probably be able to live like a king in a couple decades whereas everyone else will be living in a cardboard box, begging for some spare change.

Nigger wtf do you live in the exact center of New York City houses for rent where i live is 1250 for a 3 bedroom wtf

You better my man we don't all have that kind of money, a pack of frozen nuggets here is like 6$ even when they're on sale

The only real meal I get is when I go to the homeless shelter every sunday so I can get a bowl of soup with vegetables and beef in it

kek'd n check'd

Um maybe dont spend so fucking much on rent? I had a 2 bedroom in State College PA last year for 830 a month. Im paying 485 for a big 1 bedroom now. Dude manage your money better.

Nigga I'm homeless, banking $0/month and still alive. Work harder - the means to survive are there for people willing to accept them.

I hope it gets you out of that lifestyle and into something better... no one should have to live like that.

It's real in every decent city... a narrow band of people has gotten much wealthier and they are falling all over each other to hoard all the nice things and make them all into a shitty starbucks version of what regular people created for their own use and enjoyment.

Meanwhile taxes and fees have increased for everything, you get fined for not being to afford health insurance (in the US), and it's harder than ever to make an arrangement to (for example) stay in a commercial space on the DL.

Not if he's working for 9 dollars an hour. That life is like being a hampster on a wheel... just think, anyone who can do a bit of skilled labor makes more even if they are working 35 hour weeks.

I don't like le reddit but maybe you can check out /r/randomactsofpizza on occasion if youre hurtin for a meal. Ive had friends get a few pies outta there

What are you poorfags doing? Are you all walmart cashiers with no plans whatsoever for a better future?

There is no jobs that pay anything good and when you can't drive it's even harder to find any work

$300.. thats about 2500SEK a month for a house?
How big is your house? and the garden? How far from the nearest large city is it?

Can't even get a room in a student home for that money here in DK.

cookbooks.leannebrown.com/good-and-cheap.pdf
look on craigslist for stuff being thrown out, get it and try to sell them or re purpose them, make as much from scratch as you can, bread, yogurt , beans etc are very sustaining especially if you throw in some cheese.

Have you heard about bills, dickwad?

>Not if he's working for 9 dollars an hour.

The way he's working he'll probably start to earn a lot more soon, whereas you'll always be trampling in those waters wondering why you don't get that raise you think you deserve so much.

Just saying, no one strives to be a Walmart cashier. Everyone that's in those sorts of positions is there because something is either fucked with them or their life.

Something, some time, killed their dreams.

>living in country where the average pay is 300$
>"poorfag" makes 1350$ per month
fml

There's actually a poor subreddit, mostly a place where people vent though.

Yeah I don't have 250 extra just for food, I have hardly any money at all for food

2300 SEK to be exact (excluding broadband and electricity). 10 min commute from Gbg. It's really small though. 19.5 square meters.

my story:

> Couldn't afford college, lived off of foodstamps and church food, skinny as fuck
> House w/ mom pending forclosure every other week
> Drove illegally (mom's car or borrowed cars, or carpooled) to random shit jobs (retail, stocking)
> Saved as much money as possible
> Moved to dirt cheap place in TX
> Sold shitty car for down payment on apartment
> Found other poorfags online (imageboards and IRC) for roommates
> Got entry level job in tech
> Bought my food and didnt eat out for a year
> Studied
> Got better job, when sick of it, applied for better job, keep studying every few months
> Now have career, feel guilty about the money I make because of poorfag origins

forgot the important part: grew up in Maryland. Finding a 'real' job seemed fucking impossible without a degree.

Or he'll be used up by his employers and fired as soon as he's due for a mandatory raise. Best case scenario, he gets promoted to manager and makes... what, 25 bucks an hour?

I'm not actually a poorfag, but I've been one in the recent past... luckily I found an affordable place to live and had very little college debt, so I was able to devote a lot of time to building a freelance business.

Which is why being a poorfag sucks so hard. It's a trap. You work endlessly just to stay afloat, with no energy or time left over to better your station. And any bad turn of luck--getting sick, your shitty old car dying, not being able to pay a parking ticket... and you could be ruined.

"Because the beauty of the White Aryan woman must not perish from the earth."

We fucked up guys.

Cost of living increases also, the point is that minimum wage in the US is unlivable and too many businesses refuse to hire more people because they'd need to pay for minimum wage.

And people wonder why poor people just kill themselves

here

I think about the bad luck factor a lot.

Like maybe i just got lucky, in having certain resources, in my car not breaking down, etc... i get imposter syndrome a lot because i think maybe my "lack of bad luck" is the only thing that kept me afloat (and not my effort)

Good on you, user!

I was poor as fuck when I lived on my own and I had to move back in with parents because I can't afford to live on my own, I feel for you guys who have no option but to live by yourself with low income jobs

>tfw parents didn't see me for 5 months and when they saw me I was so skinny and unhealthy looking they basically forced me to move back in

>OP sounded like he wanted solutions
>deep down he just wants to be consoled

no shit get a better job, no fucking shit. same thing as telling the Lion to find courage. he's still stuck as a little bitch until he finds the courage.

Do a good turn to someone in need. Be a good neighbor.

I hope you get over it user. Just because you didn't have to overcome some horrible happenstance doesn't detract from your efforts and struggle.

Why don't you (American) poorfags just join the military, get some job skills and college money and move up a small notch?

My weights been decreasing pretty rapidly too bro and my damn electric razor broke and I can't afford a new one and now I have a ridiculous looking beard

A house is by definition a single building for living which contains toilet/bathroom, livingroom, atleast 1 bedroom and a kitchen all seperated by walls and doors (except kitchen which can be open in connection with living room).... how the hell do you fit that into 19,5 sqm?

Sounds more like you are renting a single room with a tiny kitchenette in a larger appartmentbuilding in an area filled with ISIS supporters

tfw rent is 300 Euro
tfw i make 2000 Euro

Or if they are younger, they are still working towards their dreams, with a shitty job like Wally World to make money on the side.

>tfw own my own home
>tfw own my own business
>tfw making 7k a month
>not a lot
>but still middle class

Where do you live? lol

Getting a spot in a peactime military is actually kinda hard. Recruiters can be much pickier when they don't have to find new meat for the GWOT.

And while you can make it out alright if you're smart, alot of the skills and experience of the military don't transfer easily to civilian life (even if you got some kind of applicable training, employers may not recognize or understand). It's a major problem for veterans.

And the GI bill has been gutted to save money.

>people consider wally world tier jobs to be for teenagers for side cash
>tfw 29 and minimum wage is my living wage

>yfw i only pay $85 a month minimum on a lien and house i inherited from my dead grandparents
>yfw i have a poorfag barely over min. wage job but own no car, so no car note, gas, car insurance, etc.
>yfw i live in a state where gambling is legal and i have enough disposable income to blow wads of money every week on casinos, booze, drugs or whatevs
>yfw i work in a casino also and we get free hot meals and paid breaks and cheap health/dental insurance
>yfw i may be a poorfag but i live like a richfag with an easy peasy, stress-free job

>tfw my rent is 550 a month

This

I don't even go to family functions anymore because the embarrassment is unbelievable considering my cousins 10 years younger than me have cars and high paying jobs

Damn, dude. That is like 80,000+ a year, not all that bad

>It's a major problem for veterans.
It's probably a problem for grunts, but I think a majority of jobs (at least in the AF) have some kind of skills applicable to the real world.

>And the GI bill has been gutted to save money.
Come again? The post-9/11 GI Bill is fantastic. I don't know what you're on about.

Well I'm no expert, that's just what I hear in the news. And "grunts" is where most of the uneducated poorfags go.

I thought some of the GI bills were slashed once the GWOT had started to draw down.

I work with kids half my age and they love with their parents and even they complain about not making enough money and I have to buy food and pay rent and everything. It's depressing as fuck

This. It sucks, and it will be weird at first, but if it's really that bad that you can barely live (which you can't, actually, if you can't even afford food in addition to rent/bills), it seems like your only choice.
Getting a roommate in a studio is the weirder of the two, but as long as you can get a feel for them before they move in, it could* work. Living in a spare room in someone's home would be the ideal situation, as you'd have your own room and likely a kitchen you can use.

> tfw living in a welfare state
> maximum luxury with minimum effort

Kek.

>lost your job?
>getting $800/mo from the gubbermint?
>don't trade in that Audi! Keep making the $600/mo payments!
>you deserve it!

Same man they're spoiled little fucks who think they need like a grand a week to live

Hey OP, have you considered applying for food stamps/EBT? I'm not sure what the qualifying threshold is, but it sounds like you would be a prime candidate

How did you even get in this situation in the first place? Did you just think you could make it on that little? Did you have room mates that bailed on you? Did you lose your good paying job and had to get a shit paying job?
