Hey Sup Forums. I know there's a lot of you PC gamers on this board. I posted on /wsr/ about how I have this all-in-one computer and that I'm giving up. I want to get into PC gaming, but I don't know shit about computers or steam or anything. I've always been a simple console fag. I'm interested in joining the master race and being able to play with friends who switch between PC and console. I want to be able to switch back and forth. Anyways, I need recommendations. Videos on how computers work and what makes up a computer, how to build a gaming PC, etc. I don't want to buy one already made because they're unreliable and with a custom PC, you can switch out the parts. My budget is $1800 max. Help me Sup Forumsrothers. I wish to join you.

dont ask this shit on Sup Forums bro u know they are gonna fuck you over

Here's my computer at the boot up screen shit.

Get a cheap Linux comp.
Those shits are beasts when it comes to gaming.

Yea I know Sup Forums can be a bunch of asses but I haven't seen people request this type stuff on /wsr/. I didn't know what else board to go to. I just want good graphics and PC exclusive shit.

it's trying to boot from the lan
have you installed an OS yet? (like windows)

i can help you out just let me make a list

Shit wrong pic

if you've got the scratch just go to fry's and tell em you want a gaming PC, they'll help you choose parts and what you want to focus on.

>fry's
not him but what's that?

I'm just gonna give up on the all in one computer. Shit sucks.

do you have steam? or any other way to chat?

pcpartpicker.com/list/Z8YM3F

Nope. I'm a console dude wanting to go PC. You got kik?

Don't bother, there are literally 0 good games coming out right now. It would be a big waste of money. Believe me, I have myself a £1700 Sup Forums machine.

If you don't know shit about computers, and don't have a friend/brother who does know their shit, I would advice you to just buy a ready-to-play computer. Just wait for a decent discount, I bought a decent desktop PC with 10% discount for 1300 euros with top notch specs, and when I calculated the cost of building it myself I got to 1200 euros. So for 100 euros extra I saved myself a gigantic amount of time and sweat. Believe me, building your own pc is NOT EASY, it's pain, sweat and tears, even for experienced pc builders.

go on r/buildapc they'll teach you everything you need to learn

yeah but I dont use it much
you can make a free steam account right now, you'll need it if you're getting into PC gaming anyway

But games that are already out. I can wait for new games later. I wanna try out counter strike, I feel like it's overrated but I still want to try it and see if it can change my opinion, my friends gonna buy me overwatch, I already play it on console.

yeah that's a solid build, I'd order all the parts and take it to whatever computer enthusiast store near you (micro center, frys) and get them to put it together

Muh friends either bought their PC's, have outdated ones that other people helped build, or had to ask other people like I am now.

Then make your budget $600, you don't need anything that great to run CS.

Spending more on a PC now and waiting for better games in the future is like burning money. Why not wait until games start being good again (not likely) and then buy the parts at that time with the same money so you will have a more powerful PC.

Most important advice:
Don't buy the GTX1080 like this idiot Video cards that came out less than 6 months ago are hugely overpriced. It costs $655 now, this will be 50% less in only 2 years. Buy a GTX970 or a 1060. Don't listen to anyone who advices you to buy a card that's more than $300. You are wasting your money. Cards that cost $600 in 2014 are now $100.

i know its expensive but he has a big budget so why not it's a great video card

If money is no issue, then yes, buy the most expensive card.
But the price to quality ratio of new cards is always off compared to cards that are 2 years old.

>My budget is $1800 max

Thanks everyone for suggesting parts and whatnot, but I also need to learn about PC's. I need videos and tutorials and shit like I said.

Oh wow someone's mad that they're poor

If only there were a place where you could search for information like that. It would probably be amazing.

this, if you don't have any experience with it, it will be stressfull. i consider myself fairly knowledgable when it comes to computers, and it took me like a week to get Windows working on it.

+ if you physically build the PC yourself you will have no warranty, and it is so easy to fuck up.

$1800 us is about $3000 aus fags dollars so let me sing you the song of my people:

comes in well under budget and will allow you to game at 1440P

no pc store close to you so they could put the pieces together for you?

I don't know if you've found interest in anyone elses posts, but I can give you a short run down of what I'm purchasing for my next build, if I was home I could straight up send links. Anyways, I'm getting an Asus motherboard, I believe its called the saber tooth, two 16 gig sticks of ram, a 32 gig stick. A nvidia Gtx 1080, I can't remember the tower nor the specific power supply but I believe the p.s. was around 1600 watts. I haven't found any drives I'm interested in yet nor a cpu, everything here totals up to about 1400 I believe including the tower, which leaves you with a bit of wiggle room for storage and a cpu.

do you even google nooblord?

i know exactly what you have to do but i'm not your dad so i'm not gonna hold your hand.

OP is a fag
i speak computer

Same guy, I had originally bought a prebuilt Asus around 4 or 5 years back, and it's actually been really easy to customize, so far I've replaced the ram, graphix card, and power supply. It was actually a great first computer to learn how all the pieces fit together, just fyi.

Ask the internet.
It will always provide.

I'd be ok with this 10 years ago, such a fucking waste with 2016 games. Better make it worth it user! Better start putting in those hours to no mans sky!

>double dubz
gaming at 4k@60 fps more then makes up for not being a poor fag

Welcome to most peoples lives.

are you grilling him for being smart with his money? really nigga?

i bet you pre-order games too and cry when they suck ass

What games though user? It looks really nice, you have a really nice setup and good specs but what the fuck are you supposed to play?

Netgear D7000, stingy storey....

OP here,fell asleep, sorry guys.

I went to Best Buy and the guy there suggested I look for parts at crucial.com
I googled some stuff but I wanted help from Sup Forums
Thanks
Kek'd, I save my money

Can't have this thread die on me. I need MORE information.

>here you go

what do you want to use it for?

a general purpose or solely for gaming?

Get a Geforce GTX 1060
Intel i7 6700 processor
16gb ram
mainboard with chipset h170, intel socket 1151, supports 8gb ram per dimm slot, atx, probably want sata 6gb/s
get a ssd 128gb for your operation system
get a hdd 1tb for your data and other shit
get power supply which fits the W needed for the hardware, probably 550W or something

enjoy your near high end system.

forgot to add that you need tobuy a tower which fits the ATX form factor

why would you bother with a i7 6700, yet get a 1060, you're much better off getting a shittier processor and a better GPU

Might be true. Just getting into the IT sector. Have flawed knowledge. Since hes asking for a high end system he could go with the i7 and 1070, though.
Should fit his maximum price
