Hey. can you guys tell me if i could slap this fucker into a build. I salvaged it from an old laptop. i was also looking to see if i can use its ram too.

you probably could, assuming it works. you might need an adapter tho.

It also has a core i5 in it.

Show us the ports at the back

Have you degaussed it?

>build

Good drive for a PS3 or 360.

I've done that exact thing twice. One of the drives even had scorch marks on it. They currently store porn and backup porn.

here

Pc

Yes, you can. It uses standard wires.

Im new to pc building so i dont know what that means. Sorry for sounding like a dumbass

Thanks mate

It's alright, we all start somewhere.
Degaussing is a process by which you remove static buildup from a drive using a magnet.
Any old magmet will do, just pass it over the drive a few times.

Nice dubs. And rubing magnets over parts fuck them up so nice b8.

unless im wrong.

You're wrong.
Also that's not what bait is.

It used to, yeah. but in the past few years mechanical harddrivers like these use m-flash to access the stored files. Using a magnet on that 500 gb hdd will improve the speed since it will make the physical storage "defrag". the stores files will remain untouched while the "blanks" get stored in different places so the accessed files will be closer together, leaving the empty space idling and therefore making the pc focus on the used area. You should swipe the magnet directly above it clockwise.

Lol do this

Sorry. I just try to look out for my stuff.

4 year old drive.
Will fail soon
May already have corrupt sectors
Not worth using.

Do you guys know where the processor or ram is as well? If either of them is useable. This thing is probably like 2 years old.

Most likely not the processor but maybe the ram if you have an adapter.

CPU is where the fan is located obviously, protip be absolutely careful not to bend the pins

I said before the processor is a core i5 but ill take your word for it. thanks

Thanks

4 year old doesn't mean it's been used 4 years constantly.

The CPU won't be able to be used in desktop mobos because of diffrent cpu sockets and even if it is a compatible socket most boards won't support it unfortunately, but you could sell it on ebay for a reasonable price (50-100 for parts or not working) depending on the series (presuming it's first or secound generation).
