Do you celebrate Picard day?

Never forget.

No series captures the concept of mentorship like TNG.

>literally pasta and the same shit rediscussed again for the n^xth time like a certain other website

"Commander, tell me about your sexual organs."

;_;

HE DID THE THING EVERYONE HE DID THE THING

I had this game as a kid, it was pretty fun. It was basically just Q insulting you all game, even if you get everything right he only gives you very begrudging half praise.

Bretty sad desu :(

>we failed to kill the 'general' meme before it became a real thing

youtube.com/watch?v=JiKwAS1qaCk

loved this bit

I don't get how these autistic geniuses think that meme's are like catchphrases. You do it enough it catches on.

You hear anyone say D'oh or Eat my Shorts? You hear anyone say ARISE CHICKUN. Bane posting had CLEARLY defined rules like The Game.

You want to make a meme, make it exploitable and with rules. Even if they're clearly defined, people will understand and follow.

/trek/ might be shit but it's still better than anything else on Sup Forums

Real thread here.

>riker refuses to move on and take his own command to the detriment of his career
not really

>Implying kikes and atheists go to heaven.

Why was this episode so depressing?

wait, Leonard Nimoy died?

fuck why didn't anybody tell me

This episode made me feel so funny growing up.

I don't have to listen to you, JelliBLOW! You're not my real captain! I hate you!

Don't ever stop

You're the MEME MASTER.

Help us slay the gorga-tron oh WYZZARD of 1,000 memes.

>implying there is an afterlife for anyone

They are yellow and green if you know what I mean

How come?

This is meant to cheer me up? Thats like saying cancer is bad but at least you got the good type of cancer.

...

I did like how they mention in this episode that if they try to take Hugh with them they'll be hunted mercilessly by the Borg, then in voyager when they take 7 o' 9 with them that's exactly what happens.

Also Picard was a fool for not having the balls to go through with the plan, genocide or no they (and all the other humanoid races of the galaxy) were in a life or death war with the Borg. His actions could have saved billions of lives, or more even.

Is Nimoy dead? Holy fuck.....

Sooooo what defines the cardassians? Militarism and unquestioning loyalty to the state.
What defines the romulans? Militarism and unquestioning loyalty to the state.
What defines the Klingons? Militarism and unquestioning loyalty to the state.

....

Why are all the opposing major civilizations in star trek basically the same?

>Implying there's not
It's alright, man. Jesus loves you even if you don't love him.

Kinda reminds me of when Picard got assimilated and Riker knew immediately to do just that.

?

The only faction that doesn't have unquestioning loyalty to the state are the ferngi, and they're presented as immature and ultimately inconsequential.

Star Trek is a statist fantasy.

I never understood these toons. Kids back in the day used to like them. I tried watching it a few times but I didn't see what made it so popular . It's like that over hyped five nights at freddy's game right now. Theres merch at every store you go. People claim it's "soooo scary". Saw a game playthrough last night and it was kinda dull. It's nothing more than waiting for a jump scar The Game.

So, so sexy. Prime Famke Janssen just prior to Bond.

>Klingons
>unquestioning loyalty to the state.
You what, mate.

Klingons are encouraged to go challenge the high chancellor to mortal combat any time they feel like it. If they win then they get his coat and title as a prize.

are there Vulcan, Klingon, Romulan, and Cardassian Jesus?

>they'll be hunted mercilessly by the Borg, then in voyager when they take 7 o' 9 with them that's exactly what happens.
Isn't that the opposite of what happens?

The Borg only take 7 of 9 back in Dark Frontier, and the Queen is all like "I could have taken you back at any point in time before, but I just didn't feel like it until now."

My friend, Season 2 and 3 of ATHF is rife with very quick lines tumbling over top of each other humour.

It's not always there, but when it is it was smart and quick.

They had to cut an 11 minute show so you'd catch shit on repeat viewings.

The cup is the best character without question.

>Surak
>Kathless
>Surak's Judas
>The State

Holly cow, there's a Picard day? I haven't gotten to that episode yet. I'm currently rewatching Voyager for the forth time.

>I'm currently rewatching Voyager for the forth time.
Jesus wept, as did Surak and Kahless and Anti-Surak and The State.

>I'm currently rewatching Voyager for the forth time.

How is this possible?

I am about to finish my second run-through and I doubt I'll ever watch anything but maybe stand alone two parters or the good ones like Year of Hell or Living Witness.

if he loves me then why does he send me to burn in hellfire for eternity if I don't believe in him?

Post proof that he will.

Is it worth watching TNG? I can't stand most of the crew and especially Whoopie Goldberg.

ATHF was for the most part a show that was designed to be HILARIOUS if you were stoned.

Also, fun fact this intro to the final episode cost more to make than the episode itself.

>If they win then they get his coat and title as a prize.
This really broke suspension of disbelief for me. We are supposed to believe a state could exist where the only thing you had to do to become unquestioned legitimate ruler was walk in and kill the existing ruler?

...

It didn't hit 12 seasons by being stoner humour. Xavier Renegade Angel is essentially the same style of humour but far more absurdist and "punny".

>I've always known, I'll die alone

It's a comfy show to watch. Started rewatching it this year and I immediately felt right at home. It's like an old pair of gloves that fit just right. You have newer , more expensive and flasher gloves you could be using but for some reason when you put the old ones on it just feels right.

revelation 21:6-8

6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

...

Suppose you do it, you absolute madman, you make your challenge and win and become the new chancellor, yes, yes, well done, well done.

HOWEVER, I think it's considered a faux pas if you don't have an honorable justification for your challenge.

Someone else can claim that you acted dishonorably, so they will be acting honorably if they remove you from power, and then they can challenge you to a duel and the other Klingons will give them a thumbs up when your head is on a bat'leth spike..

So don't be Neelix and you'll be fine.

Resisting a particular leader of the state does not neccessarily mean you're against the state per se. Klingons are all about empire empire empire. Dying for the empire is the best they can hope to achieve in life.

>TNG
This is really good. Gives me the feels from back in the day when the family would sit around the dinner table watching the show and I was too young to appreciate it.

>DS9
This is good and definitely underrated. It had some good writing, fair characters, and helped to show that there was a world outside there besides the deck of the Enterprise. A solid series. I was sad when the ride ended and every now and than, I do admit that I miss the Grand Negus.

>Voyager
Has its moments I suppose. I like the EMH (Robert Picardo is good stuff) but as I near the end of season 2, I find myself really struggling with this series.

>Enterprise
Read about it. Wasn't impressed. Watched the last episode which everyone shit on and totally agree with them. It missed the mark and I imagine the series as a whole does too. Probably will never watch.

Pretty sure you had to have a reasonable cause to challenge for leadership and often times being the head male of a house.

Here is a man, who can truly see.

>It missed the mark and I imagine the series as a whole does too. Probably will never watch.
The series misses the mark when it's written by Berman and Braga, the same people who wrote the final episode.

When it's written by other people then it's decent and sometimes even good.

Better this than the game of plebs spam.

Is there any chance that the 2017 series will actually be decent? then again, seeing who's producing it has gotten me concerned.

REEEE!

>Probably will never watch.
You're missing out 2bh

>yet another pointless fucking general thread
>this time for a franchise
>not a show, a goddamn franchise
>as usual, it's made by some waste of tissue who has nothing to say
This is some fucking bullshit.

>then again, seeing who's producing it has gotten me concerned.
Okay, but have you seen who's writing it?

Bryan "Living Witness" Fuller
Nick "The Undiscovered Country" Meyer
Joe "Darmok" Menosky
Rod "My father was an asshole" Roddenberry
Kirsten "Voyager was a mistake" Beyer

Hope and hype are both logical.

Maybe they won't job the Borg like they did in Enterprise.

That theme song is such shit though. Perfect strangers had such a better theme.

Would you prefer if each of the 5 star trek shows had their own general?

>nana will never serve you guacamole out of her ass
why live

It's part of the reason I didn't watch Star Trek: Enterprise.

How was that allowed?

Benson had a better theme song than your entire life

...

Enterprise actually had a not-terrible late season three - four.
I feel like the people who hate on Enterprise forget how shit almost every Star Trek series is for the first two seasons.
It could've been good if it was given a few more seasons to find its way.

>>riker refuses to move on and take his own command to the detriment of his career

Didn't he do that in Best of Both Worlds?

TOS' best episodes are in Season 1.
TNG Season 2 is far superior to Season 7.
DS9, I know, "muh serial plotlines" but the early seasons had some great episodes
VOY's first seasons did a great job in exploring the new Delta Quadrant species

Enterprise is just a turd. Doesn't matter how many TOS references they grasped at in the 11 o'clock hour.

>Benson

Dis nigga..

...

How does tumblr always manage to make things worse, especially when they mean well?

Consider the following:

TNG had a GOAT episode in season two (The Measure of a Man).
DS9 had a GOAT episode in season one (Duet) and multiple GOAT episodes in season two (Necessary Evil, Whispers, The Wire)
Voyager had multiple GOAT episodes in season two (Prototype, Death Wish, Tuvix).
Those three shows had weak early seasons, but they had some gold mixed in with the garbage.

Enterprise had _zero_ episodes which I can consider to be GOAT (or even good) until season three.

There's a huuuuuuuge difference between TNG/DS9/VOY starting with mostly garbage and some gold while ENT starts with entirely garbage.

Because they never watched the show and just bandwagon the "live long and prosper" meme with the new series.

You're forgetting the episode where Trip got pregnant. OR how about the one where sexy T'Pol goes into heat?

...

>Enterprise had _zero_ episodes which I can consider to be GOAT (or even good) until season three.

>P'Jem
>Cease Fire

>how about the one where sexy T'Pol goes into heat?
Just go look at porn if you're horny. It's online, it's everywhere, and it's free.

Even T'Pol knows how shitty that shit is.
>"You can't substitute tits and ass for good storytelling," [Jolene Blalock] says bluntly. "You can have both, but you can't substitute one for the other, because the audience is not stupid. You can't just throw in frivolous, uncharacteristic... well, bull and think it's gonna help the ratings!"

I said almost every Star Trek series.
The animated series isn't even worth talking about, it had like two or three good episodes.
TNG seasons 1 & 2 were undoubtedly shit if you average the episodes, that doesn't change just because 7 was bad too.
The same for DS9.
Voyager only started getting a little good once the Kazon were out of the picture. The first seasons were shit there too.

The odd good episode doesn't make a good season by the way, it just makes a good episode.

Jeffrey Combs is good, but he can't save a bad episode.

tor.com/2012/03/16/5-reasons-why-will-riker-creeps-me-out/

Is Riker really an autist?

>people use tumblr for anything other than following furry porn artists
I will never understand this

>implying

She goes over her training. It includes lessons on sex.

>furries are still a thing in 2016
I will never understand this.
