American cinema is the best on the planet. Yeah, there's a lot of trash. But no other country on earth has produced a comparable amount of quality. Not France, not Italy, not Japan, not Germany. Yes they've all had individual movement and notable filmmakers, but none has consistently maintained the momentum and innovation that American film has for the past 70+ years. Since the end of WWII, Americans have been making the best films in the world.
