We just post a few (3-5 at most) descriptors of music we like or are looking for, and then other people reply with albums that fit that mold.
I'll start:
>noisy, ambient, rock, depressing, electronic

idk sunbather?
i'm looking for romantic, italian, old, slow, quiet
Im looking for albums that have these things:
Phasing/flanging, echo/delay, reverb, and fuzz/distortion
see
Anything like To Binge by Gorillaz and Little Dragon
>slow, quiet
Not sure what you mean by romantic/italian, but try this
youtube.com
Please
patience brother
>electronic, similar to BoC, nostalgia, ambient
You've probably heard it, but Deathconciousness.
lonely, bittersweet, distorted, psychedelic (not necessarily psych rock, yknow what i mean tho), maximalist
noisier and more melodic sonic youth
>folksy
>comfy
>great vocals
>either a beach or mountains vibe, you decide
Not quite fitting what you want, but you probably should give Rock Dream by Boris with Merzbow a listen. You'd probably like it.
Tall, dark and handsome
I imagine you've listened to Shigeto's music already?
There's also pic related
>kodomo.bandcamp.com
He's a cool guy, I know him in person. He knew Shigeto in person back when Shigeto used to work a pizza place in Brooklyn, which is probably why he was able to get Shigeto to remix one of his songs.
bump
What part of the song do you like? The laid-back feel? The melodic sense? For example, the laid-back feel of the rhythm sort of reminds me of some dub music, but if it's the melodic content you like the most, that probably won't work for you.
tribal drumming, but not necessarily world music
stuff like early Dead Can Dance and Popol Vuh
Listen to Nadja and that one Angelic Process album, they more or less fit the first four descriptors
youtube.com
Pretty cool but not super into metal to be honest.
Boredoms - Seadrum/House of Sun
Death Blues - Ensemble
Aw hell, you beat me to it.
>sunbather
>Deathconciousness
Heard 'em
This is pretty cool, I'm listening to this now and it really fits my preferences. Thanks for this one.

colab between jefre cantu ledesma and grouper, should fit what you're looking for more or less
You've probably already listened to this, but if you haven't I highly recommed you get to it right now. Also Mount Eerie, even though it isn't as comfy.
The Antlers - In The Attic Of The Universe deserves a honorable mention for how great it is, despite Hospice getting shit, definitely one of my fav EPs.
Mine:
>a wall of guitar noise to drown into with comfy vocals, preferably a grill's bc that's how shoegaze works
i guess i should ask for something to rec as well
im always looking for anything even close to joanna
Can anyone rec me a song/album with a similar sound to:
Belong - Common Era
The Voidz - Tyranny
Adore, 1996
Salvia Palth
psych/noise rock like 77 Live
Looking for albums that are depressing and will make me want to commit sudoku. Something similar to pic related that isn't Codeine or other slowcore bands that are posted on here a hundred times a day.
>psychedelic rock, noisy
similar to youtube.com
i have nothing that fills any requests :
Other DIJ albums, Current 93, and Of The Wand And The Moon. Just look into neofolk.
Anything similar to this, with the same atmosphere and sense of doom? youtube.com
see
Mob - I Believe In You
youtube.com
Boredoms - discography
Really any Dinosaur Jr record may fit the bill here, but Where You Been sort of fits the given standards a bit more. Definitely not as much trem fuckery as there is on Loveless, though.
Synth, upbeat, good vocals, catchy, similar to pic.
I'm fucking retarded sorry.
atmospheric/ambient, noisy, uplifting and/or depressing, comfy
also, nostalgic
Anything from the Constellation Tatsu label should be up your alley also have this
If you're asking for obscure slowcore bands Grace Cathedral Park might be up your alley
my new music LEGIT kinda touches all these descriptors. check it out at minnieminus.bandcamp.com
>Jap female vocals, depressing and poppy at times
Vaguely classical sounding but pretty obviously midi, square wave synths, medieval without being edgy and Black Metal-ish, soft percussion, grandiose themes, basically something like pic related
youtube.com
anythings that sounds similar to this and how melodic it is
Haha holy shit do I have the number for you.
anyone got anything like this?
bump
King Creosote & John Hopikins - Diamond Mine
>>a wall of guitar noise to drown into with comfy vocals, preferably a grill's bc that's how shoegaze works
Lazy depression, sad shit, nothing about relationships, vocals about real depression and dysphoria
Soft vocals?
Soft everything
I can't find any new music and idk what I want
sounds like Grouper to me, or maybe Gowns
Tujiko Noriko - Hard Ni Sasete
youtube.com
rythmic, brooding jazz - in a similar vein to the Steve Lehman Octet
100% grouper
Really heavy neo-psych (like early AnCo) with no vocals
Lots of early synth-pop. Check out DEVO and Gary Numan.
spacey black metal shit, like thorns
acid ghost - vacation II
damien rice - 9
eels - beautiful freak
kinoko teikoku - eureka
little kid - flowers
shlohmo - bad vibes
the tallest man on earth - there's no leaving now
vance joy - dream your life away
music that sound like the beat on tHat part but without the corny kanye lines on it
Improvisational rock music, accessible or otherwise easy-to-listen-to, jazz influence.
Some god tier new wave like this pls
John Moreland - High on Tulsa Heat
m.youtube.com
The Goslings - Grandeur of Hair
m.youtube.com
I haven't heard thorns but this may be up your alley
