My favorite album of the 00s

best emo album ever nothing will ever top it the end

Yeah it's in my top 10. Pretty amazing

One of those times a band makes an album way better than they should be able to.

I love it as well.

Are there any other emo albums that come close to this?

I have yet to find one

It's not emo tho

>Do you believe you're missin' out? That everything good is happening somewhere else?
>But with nobody in your bed, The night's hard to get through

>And I will die all alone
>And when I arrive I won't know anyone

>Well, Jesus Christ, I'm alone again
>So what did you do those three days you were dead?
>'cause this problem's gonna last more than the weekend.

DON'T BE WAAAAAAVES
COME AND SEAL MY FATE MARINEEEEEE

>Are there any other emo albums that come close to this?

nope, trust me I tried

>one of the most iconic, if not the most iconic emo album of all time
>it's not emo tho

It's more indie/alternative rock or something along those lines than emo.

It manages to transcend emo but it is inarguably rooted in emo

It's fucking Brand New

There are definitely emo influences, but i still wouldn't call it a proper emo album.
It's good tho, not denying that at all.

Clicked this because the cover art looks cool
Thank you for giving me something new to check out

...

who else /fuckyouilikedaisytoo/ here?

Daisy is good, but it lacks the focus that makes Devil and God so good. Still, the title track is fantastic.

actually this came out a decade ago

I prefer Daisy to any of their albums.

I love their entire discography even the cheesy pop stuff

youtube.com/watch?v=6QOO0QsmhUM

Your favorite weapon is their best album

fucking fight me

I think it's double illegal to hit retarded folk

ForDuh

Devil and God > Deja > YFW > FOYD > Daisy

I enjoy all albums though

I can't get into daisy

can you help me out

>Thought Limosuine was just some "I got dumped" sad song from the chorus
>Learn the story behind Limousine
>Song now causes feeling to well up whenever I listen to it

I've got a twenty dollar bill

>Vices
>Gasoline
>Sink
Are kickass songs check your test or work out to them if you can't into them

>At the bottom
>Daisy
>Noro
Are the slow jamz

Decent
>Bought a Bride
>You Stole

Meh
Bed
Be gone
In a jar

>And I'm sick of your tattoos
>And the way you don't appreciate Brand New
>OR MEEEEEEEEEE

Anyone else see them on their TDAG 10th anniversary tour. I cried when they actually played this encore.

Why'd you have to say that? I looked up the meaning. Fuck.

>hey this albums really good, lets do our best to pigeonhole it so that we can have matching rym tags while we suck eachothers dicks

This album is completely insufferable

>tfw live in Sweden so not sure I'll ever see them live

>the most iconic emo album of all time
That statement is a fucking joke. For a start the labelling of the album as emo is questionable.
American football or cap'n jazz are far more iconic on either end of the twinkly - spazzy spectrum.

I think mewithoutYou does a good job mixing emo and indie rock, but it's not quite the same.

why daisy last?

Yes Brand New's Daisy is better

Because he's got no dick

Cap'n jazz?

I'm this guy It has some of their best songs and I would prob rate it 8/10 but I'm on the fence about some of the songs which make the album way less consistent to me than their other releases

Fuck yeah dude. When they projected footage of the band when they were just kids dealt hit me. I've seen them 8 times and it's always a treat. It's gonna hurt when these guys finally end it.

hahahahaha

same F A M

emo music is shit HOLY FUCK

>We will miss you but in time you'll get set up
>We will write

>A beauty supreme
>Yeah you were right about me
>Can I get myself out from underneath
>This guilt that will crush me
>And in the choir
>I saw a sad Messiah
>He was bored and tired of my laments
>Said, "I died for you one time but never again"

I'm a HipHopGeneral-er and this thing was so good.

Where do I get more of this?
You Won't know best song.

Who are the other guys on stage?

underrated kek

>DUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUNDUN

I'M NOT YOUR FRIEND
I'M NOT YOUR LOVER
I'm NOT YOUR FAMILY

I'M JUST A MAN WHO KNOWS HOW TO FEEL

>messing up this bad
kys

>I'M NOT YOUR FRIEND
>I'M JUST A MAN WHO KNOWS HOW TO FEEL
>I'M NOT YOUR FRIEND
>I'M NOT YOUR LOVER
>I'M NOT YOUR FAMILY
>YEAH

meant for I don't want to let you go

What is the meaning behind the cover art?

>having feels

i hope your kiddin'
Daisy=Devil/God>>>>FOYD>>>>>>>>>Deja>>>YFW
those two first albums are really trashy to be honest, still can't get how they got so much better

It's the little girl from the song Limousine hiding from the Devil and God (death) who are waiting on her front porch to take her away from her home (life)

nice one

Nice going on being a tryhard faggot.

8/10

Could have done better by placing FOYD first and Devil/ God last

The saw it at an art exhibit and liked it

Stuff with similar feels, but in no way can equal this fucking masterpiece.
Saw brand new play Jesus on their last tour, the entire audience was singing along with every word, just being in that crowd was incredible.

Hotelier - An introduction to the album
Modest mouse - Little motel
Giles corey - Nobody is ever going to want me
Death note - Shinagami Kai
Biffy clyro - As dust dances
Listener - Seatbelt hands

FOYD is better than YFW. Same with Daisy, but not as definitively.

Heard this recently myself. It's good but I really can't stand the singing.

>little motel

my fuckin nigga

Top fucking kek, user.

...

You get it, user :')

>GOLDEN LIKE THE AFTERNOONS WE USED TO SPEEEND

BEFORE YOU GOT TOO COOOOOOOL

Wrong
Right

>Just listened to this.
>This album is fucking amazing.

YEAH!

I was just thinking how much I wanted this song to be released and when I looked it up to get a link I found out it had been released

>and the way you always criticize the Smiths

If you look into any of their influences though, there are none.
They were heavily inspired by Modest Mouse, Archers of Loaf, Neutral Milk Hotel, Built to Spill, The Jesus Lizard, etc.
They just made poppier albums early on.
I see almost no emo on TDAG, it's closer to early Modest Mouse.

Also I love that album too user. They're a great band. I've been working on my collection of their stuff.
Speaking of, check out those influences if you haven't.

and Morrissey

Whenever I see them, Soco Amaretto Lime is lifechanging. That song aged beautifully with its meaning and how things just got shittier and shittier for the band, it became so bittersweet, and every crowd knows every word and screams the ending along.
Jesus is definitely the same.
Really going to be bummed when they break up if they were serious about it.

I agree, that song's beautiful and how it achieve's another meaning with time. Jesse's happy now though.

>But then Ms. Flynn began her unsparing story, told from inside the limousine that she, her two daughters, husband and parents had been riding in, driven by Stan Rabinowitz, when a pickup truck slammed into the car. The family was returning home from the wedding of Ms. Flynn's sister in Bayville, N.Y. Mr. Rabinowitz was also killed, and as of Monday morning, Ms. Flynn was the only passenger released from hospital care.

>The details Ms. Flynn calmly delivered were horrific.

>"As I crawled out of the car, the only thing that was left of Kate was her head," said Ms. Flynn, 36, her voice cracking as her mother-in-law, who sat in the audience, began to sob. "And I took her, just that, and sat on the side of the Meadowbrook and watched at the horrendousness going on around me.

>"I sat there for about an hour with her as they cut my entire family out of this crushed tin can," said Ms. Flynn, who lives in Lido Beach. "It was brutal, and I hope that it is as brutal for you all as it was for me. I want everybody to know that. I want everyone to feel our pain and know our sadness."

That ain't right man

>Death note - Shinagami
wut

>fucking amazing.
meh
