Jurassic Park/World

So why do all of the Jurassic films need to have annoying kids in them when its pretty clear that they add nothing overall to the plot?

Also Jurassic Park/World thread I guess

Because they're kids movies

To sell toys.

Did you, as a kid, liked seeing kids in movies?

No more/less than seeing adults

Eric>Lex>Tim>Kelly>>>>>shit>>>>Gray>>>>>>>one big pile of shit>>>>>Zach

We can all agree with this right?

>Because they're kids movies

Several people died horribly in these movies, hell 2 were literally ripped apart in World

Not exactly kid friendly

Turns out that kids in film are more relatable to kids IRL than adults.

Me and both my brothers all loved Jurassic Park as kids and so did everyone I know

That completely depends on the kid and what they do in the film

jeez, summer really does bring out the dunces. fuck, even the BvS threads were higher quality banter and shit posting than the bs that's been posted these past few days.

I'm jealous

Anytime I mentioned liking the movie people would act like I'm a weirdo for enjoying a kids film

Because Dinosaur moves always end up in 2 categories:

Shitty kid movies with awful jokes and voice acting

Or shitty scifi/horror movies with cheap budgets, awful practical effects and cg

Jurassic Park and its sequels managed to be both

Jurassic World was shit

Characters were all lifeless without arcs and without more than a single character trait

Man, fuck that shit. They literally just HAD to tack on the godawful voice acting.

I did not watch JW because of those kids.
Never will.

>awful practical effects and cg

The original Jurassic Park is considered to be one of cinema's greatest milestones in practical effects. But hey, I'm sure you know better than anybody else.

Wasn't the first time something like that happened and it won't be the last

Practical effects maybe

But the Cg is awful

I thine he was mostly referring to the sequels

Almost quads confirm. I'd say Kelly was more useful than Tim since she fuckin killed one in the infamous gymnastic scene

I always wondered how hard/costly it would be to simply super impose new cg

>when its pretty clear that they add nothing overall to the plot?

Well done for being a total spastic and not recognising the essential part they play in Grant's character arc. Imagine not being able to understand straight-forward themes in a movie like Jurassic Park.

Are you autistic or just stupid?

Lucas please

If I was Lucas I would understand that question.

And please don't pretend all he did was redo cg

fuck off

>Not liking Lucas's changes

fuck lex, that stupid bitch shined the flashlight right in the t-rex's eyeball, stupid fucking cunt made it tip that jeep over. it's all her fucking fault

I'm sure a lot of people on Sup Forums like seeing kids in movies even as adults.

The kids in JW really wanted to fuck their aunt, huh? The little bro was suspiciously clingy and the elder bro seemed kinda jealous when Pratt appeared.

Desist, Reddit

The real answer is that they worked perfectly fine and helped making the first Jurassic Park a great movie.

I'm usually the first guy to complain about kids in movie, but in JP they were dealt with very well, served the story, were engaging as characters, annoying when they should be, important to Grant, added to the terror of the dinosaurs attack, did not appear artificial and so on. They worked so well that they became important to the memory of Jurassic Park, that is to say, they worked so well they thought a sequel to it would have to repeat the kids as a formula. Needless to say, that charisma never repeated itself and it never worked to the same effect again.

Why exactly do people dislike the girl in the Lost World kicking a raptor through a window?

I thought it was neat

It's kinda depressing when you watch stuff like Malcolm in the middle, and you realize you now identify more with Hal/Lois or even Francis than the 3 other brothers

Prehistoric kino for 2018

everytime i see this it looks as though the surfer is doing this purposefully

In America you can have the goriest movie in the world and still be considered a kid's movie so long as there isn't a tit. There's a reason they shoot each other every hour.

>porpoisefully

:3

I didn't find Tim and Lex annoying at all. They acted pretty much how children would act in those situations.
The Jurassic World kids were forgettable, seems like a lot of their backstory was chopped up for time because millennial trash have such low attention spans these days.

The other kids however were downright terrible. The girl from The Lost World was an annoying brat and that whole gymnastics bullshit was too over the top.
The Jurassic Park 3 kid was a total gary stu. Can't stand that shit.

I hope you're talking about Lost World and JP3, because Jurassic Park is one of the best movies ever made.

>people actually trying to defend Tim and Lex

>When Lex turned the light on and attracted the T-Rex in the first place

>When Tim was so busy doing nothing and didn't even try to hand Grant the shotgun while a raptor was trying to break the door down and his sister was messing around with the security systems

>That older brother in World who spent more time trying to hit on girls despite already having a girlfriend and literally being at the only theme park in the world with dinosaurs

>dat forced Black daughter.

There were no toy human characters released for Jurassic World when the film was released to both theaters and Blu ray.

>When Lex turned the light on and attracted the T-Rex in the first place
It's useless moe, you wouldn't understand.

Kids project onto kids, to sell toys.

I remember when it came out and it was the first huge push with those dinosaur cups and toys.

Jurassic park merchandise was everywhere.

>yfw jurassic world 2 is just more hybrid dinosaurs
