I live in NYC, the taxes here suck and yet it has some of the worst roads I've ever seen. Areas with less taxes have better roads. It has nothing to do with how much we're taxed it has to do with bureaucracy and pissing money away on things like pottery calsses for 13 year old unwed mothers from the projects.
