If you say "it's for graphics or audio editing" be aware that I've build consoles for both purposes for industry leaders that included absolutely no apple components.

I'm a software developer and bought a MacBook Pro in 2015. Reasons are: aluminium case is top tier, general workmanship is better than with ANY other vendor, touchpad is the best on any laptop. Components are well-attuned to each other, everything works perfectly.
Also, Apple replaced my entire display (the complete lid) because I had some fabrication error.
No other company has this quality + service.

I've revived many macbooks from liquid damage, changed and reballed imac video cards and screens etc.
I have to say the physical quality of the motherboards and internal components are a class above any laptops I've taken apart.
Definitely higher quality hardware.

yea magsafe was good till apple dumped it recently :( Support is still awesome though and the OS is incredible. One os for one set of hardware is perfection..Windows is for 1000 different sets of hardware..penguin is too much faffing about with drivers and command line..my shit just works and flows like liquid
Nobody cares. Unix is not supported by apps like Photoshop..you have to faff about with drivers and more than half of it is command line. Apple and windows have a usable gui which is why they are so popular even though unix is lighter, faster and less likely to be infected by virii..my point: I forgot.

Hardly use it other than for Word, Excel, email, and occasionally browsing the web. I do want to use it for powerpoint, but my manager wants me to work with him and make powerpoint presentations on his computer, more than likely because his work is monitored so he looks good. I could have spent a fraction doing the same on a cheap Chromebook, but like I said, I wanted to see what the hype was about. Don't regret it. Figure if I waste my money on something else, maybe it'll be some retarded overhyped piece of technology next year after february or sometime next summer. Don't have the same enthusiasm you guys have, but I like that you guys do have it. It's an admirable feature to see there's something on a window people like.

I *can* install my OS of choice on the Mac, but it's a royal pain in the balls. Mac UEFI/whateverthefuck apple fanfags call their BIOS sucks.
Or, I can buy the Dell without an OS for $100 or so cheaper and throw what I like on it with little fuss.

I have a 2010 macbook pro and i haven't had to reinstall it once and it still runs well on the current osx version. My wife has had 3 budget pcs in that time and every 3-6 months the fucking things needed to be reinstalled from scratch.
Would go with Linux but ive tried to install on two machines in past and both had components (mainly wifi cards) that did not have linux drivers available.
I'm doing work. I don't need to know commandline for that nor do I ever need to hear the word driver ever again..mac made me forget about those awful whole days of having to install drivers and configure settings just to make shit work..It finally just all works out of the box.

Try to work within ActiveDirectory from a Mac. Just try it. Managing a domain of thousands of users is almost impossible from a Mac, unless you use it as the Host system for a virtualized winblows box.

Mac = better OS, easier to use, almost no viruses, almost no blue screen of death, better workflows, magsafe, it just works, touchpad is smooth as fuck (no judders), nice keyboard to type on. things that doen't matter: Ram, processor, motherboard.. because yes: Pc laptops can give you that but they're nowhere near as nice to use..I used PC's for over 20 years, switched to mac, never looked back. I tried penguin but it was too much work for little reward. Apples are the best, I hate to say it because I wish they were cheaper.
If there's any problem with laptops, it's the wifi cards and you can't swap them for anything else. A friend had the same problem with a lenovo computer. He sent it back 5 times with the same problem reoccurring. He's one of those customers who keeps sending things back if it's not specific to his likings, I've been telling him he's gonna have a hard time in life buying anything from any business with that kind of mentality.
I'm told him "Oh! You're one of those customers", pissed him off and asked me what I meant. Took me a while to explain it because he thinks business need to give a product or service in the way the customer imagines. Hard to give people like that a reality check.

Mac lets me do both, I like how they look and feel, and the price isn't a major issue for me.
Ultimately, there's thousands of different answers as to why somebody chooses a Mac. The reason they're popular is because, for many people, they're a sensible purchase.
I just purchased a Macbook Pro Last friday. So far I love it, as everyone has said, the track pad works like a dream, Plus the specs aren't too shabby for the price, 2.9 ghz processor, 8gb ram, 512gb ssd. Gotta say, so far so good.

All I have to say was the day I got rid of my iPhone for an Android was one of the happiest days of my life. I can't complain to much cause the iPhone was a gift, but holy shit that phone was slow as dirt after 4 years because of the cheap hardware and expanding iOS bloat.
Statement 1 fix: Generally speaking, it's the OS that is the reason MOST people buy apples over PC (not counting the starbucks shitcunts) but the hardware is top-notch after initial manufacturing glitches have been resolved.

Does the job, and mainly, mbp's are slim, light, powerful and sturdy enough that it doesn't annoy to lug around every day. I rather pay the extra grand for actually portable convenience than drag aroun something less optimal. Gaming and heavy computing then on different machines. Might swap at some point as razr blades and ms surfaces appear to be catching up, but so far, mbp does the job without much hassle.
I've had the same Mac user account for 10+ years, click stupid links, and download sketch torrents daily. Have never run into any Mac malware on my machines.
To begin with, you're buying your laptop based on "what you can see, feel and touch." There's no fucking point in trying to have a rational discussion when you're already a lost cause. What fucking problems are people having with windows? Anyone who isn't a pleb or utter fag steered away from their recent attempts at OS', and if you're having issues with the proper ones, you deserve to have them
Computer dude here, owned both windows and macOS machines. Honestly here's the breakdown:
Windows is more customisable. You can change background colours/layouts/text/etc without going through suicidal command line horse shit. They are, obviously, infinitely better for most gaming. They're more ubiquitous and relatively easier to maintain.
Therein lies the issue - they're easier to maintain, because you have to maintain them way more. Every time I turn on my windows machine, I sigh a little bit because there's something fucking annoying that either happens, or is inevitably going to happen. It's always a gentle struggle with Windows, pretty much no matter what you're doing.
Then you have OSX. It's like the nice cousin. Sure it's a little slow sometimes, and it never had any of the cool gaming consoles when you went over to their place... but the place was super nice and not only looked great, but was super functional. The house was laid out super well and incredibly easy to navigate even as a complete foreigner in there. You couldn't change the colour of the counters or carpeting like you can at your dad, Windows' place, but you might not want to because it's actually pretty sensible in the first place. If you really want to, you can get a contractor to rip out the original decor and replace it with some stuff from the nearest Home Depot, but it probably won't even look quite as right as it did originally.
They both have their strengths and weaknesses - again, OSX is absolutely piss brutal at gaming, but Windows makes up for that by being *genuinely fucking annoying* to use a large portion of the time. I recently had to restore my mate's computer because Kasperksy Antivirus was causing it to Bluescreen after updating to W10. Worst thing I have to fix on my friends Macs is they downloaded Mac Keeper and I have to point them to Malwarebytes.
In my limited experience as a functioning retarded person, I'd say it's usually because they're more asthetically pleasing straight out of the box. Not to mention the hipster appeal. Most people don't want a computer for anything but Facebook and YouTube videos of dogs getting hit by cars

Trackpads are shit. Drivers are fucking annoying. When I plug things into my Mac they just work. Windows breaks frequently - I've had to reinstall it because of issues I could never fix (nor replicate) way more than I would ever like to remember. Overall just incredibly frustrating experiences with the OS. When it works, it works great though.
Friends experience with W10 was because a program he installed killed it though, not because of microsoft. It shouldn't be possible for a driver from Kaspersky to blue screen a computer (again going into my driver whining.)
