I dont understand why Marvel is stalling on female lead superhero movies. They talk about a Black Widow movie, but Scarlet Johanssen's scedule is so busy with Ghost in the Shell and other movies, plus she is almost too old to play the role anymore, and Marvel keeps stalling.
Maybe a Scarlet Witch movie, since people have been pretty positive response about the character and Liz Olsen, who is young and energetic.
I could also see a She-Hulk movie being a great choice for Marvel.

hollywood simply doesn't have the confidence to make these types of characters anymore, everyone has to be 'uh I can fuck who I want don't call me a slut' or 'for some reason no-one questions her competence and this comes off completely natural' or ridiculous caricatures like the star wars chick
because they're playing it as safe as possible with pretty much everything they do. all of their movies is by the numbers.
also political correctness, positive PR and being completely kids and family friendly is what's most important for disney's shareholder.
Scarlet Witch wouldn't make a good solo movie, she'd need other characters with her to be interesting.
I don't understand the appeal of She-Hulk at all, she's the opposite of everything that makes Hulk interesting.

Marvel is stalling on female superhero movies because they have very little good material to draw on. Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel may actually be Marvel's best solo superheroine and she's hardly ever had good comics.
If you really care then watch Jessica Jones. I know it's an adult story instead of some Mary Sue shit you want to raise your toddler on, but it exists, it's popular, and it's good.
I didn't care for it. The original comic was a better combination of superhero shit and dark realistic shit. The TV show was just grim and moralistic.
David Tennant really knocks it out of the park, its almost a shame he wasnt put to use in a larger role somewhere else...he absolutely kills it.

Ike Perlmutter didn't want one, and even though he's not in charge of day to day operations at Marvel Studios anymore, the schedule is set for several more years. I would expect that Phase Four might have more.

I feel like Wanda is this. Even her powerset is fairly feminine. I think the problem she could have is that her powerset is pretty OP at this point. Maybe that could be balanced with her being a "glass cannon".

And how many Marvel (solo) female heroines are out there? Most of Marvel's characters are tied to superhero teams (X-Men, the Avengers, etc.)
She-Hulk is literally the only one who isn't a supporting character in some other team-dominated series and she's really an off-shoot of the Hulk character (who, himself, isn't all that popular; hence no sequels to the Incredible Hulk movie).
