Bitch, when the boys from the dwarf going home?

inb4 no money to make the series because of brexit.

>implying the series was ever high budget

I didn't say "not enough money" i said no money.

if red dwarf does a pro multiculti joke i will never watch it again

So what is it?

Red Dwarf is pretty interesting with that, half of the cast are non-white and it is never even brought up once. They have never done anything race related.

Yeah I think the writers are red pilled and keep their power level in check. They don't bring it up.

They even had a joke about womens periods. That's not something you do if you're worried about offending the status quo.

>two black leads
>never an issue because they never bring it up

this is actual diversity

none of this oh shit we need a black dude

They even had an episode where rolls were reversed and it was purely funny, not some SJW rant.

well it's one black lead, and one white lead, but race is never ever mentioned between the two.

Lister never ever goes on about Rimmer being white privileged, and Rimmer never says Lister only ever got the job because he's black.

...

Then again it is current year

so I am afraid they will succumb, if they do I switch off forever

I already told you, the only way to fix it is to go back inside

You just made me think about how if Red dwarf premierred today it would be racist because Lister is a lazy slob and Cat is a brainless sex maniac.

>tfw you're absolutely correct

Tongue tied was best moment.

Which is the ultimate best Red Dwarf episode and why is it Polymorph?

Honestly it's hard for me to pick one because Gunmen of the Apocalypse is very close, and so is Backwards and Back to Reality.

Gunmen of the Apocalypse is my favourite episode now that I think about it, everything about it is just really well done.

was that the episode where rimmer's counterpart tried to rape him?

Every episode bar Nu Red Dwarf is goat

you can turn on any episode and enjoy it highly

thanks Dad for introducing me to Red Dwarf as a kid

Yes.

Sad that VII and VIII were so bad, this to me was the last great thing that appeared in the later seasons.

>Red Dwarf XI, the eleventh series of the legendary sci-fi comedy, reunites the original cast of Chris Barrie (Rimmer), Craig Charles (Lister), Danny John-Jules (Cat) and Robert Llewellyn (Kryten) along with a host of guest stars for a brand new series recorded in front of a live studio audience at Pinewood Studios. The series is written and directed by Red Dwarf co-creator, Doug Naylor, and produced by Richard Naylor and Kerry Waddell for Baby Cow Productions & Grant Naylor Productions.

The show's six episode run sees two of the Dwarfers' dreams come true: Rimmer accidentally saves the life of a Space Corps Captain and is promoted to Officer, while Cat takes time off from being in love with himself to fall in love with a female Cat with a secret. Meantime, Lister wakes up to discover a deranged droid has stolen some of his body parts and Kryten has a mid-life crisis and considers leaving the Dwarfers for a younger crew. The posse also find themselves in an alternative America where modern technology is outlawed, making both Kryten and Rimmer illegal.

With big laughs and dazzling effects, Red Dwarf XI recaptures the show's golden age.

Thoughts?

trap cat and transgender robots?

As SJW as that would be it'd still be fucking hilarious.

Um, it's going to take at least 2 years to for the UK to actually leave the EU.

I thought VII and VIII were still pretty enjoyable, maybe not as good as the previous series though sure.

I see it as 2 black leads; 2 white.

But I will concede to one of each since it's totally valid.

>lazy slob

he's a hero, just uses his downtime to relax.

1-3, 4-6, 7&8, back to earth aka shit, 10.

These are the brackets, what order do you put them in?

for me it's

4-6
1-3
7&8
10
back to earth.

thing is I like them all except bte.

No, what would actually happen is that if it premiered today the board would shit itself about 'forced diversity' reflexively regardless of what the content actually was.

I watched first 2 or 3 episodes and i'm honestly not that impressed. I laughed at a couple of jokes but that's it. Maybe some of them went over my head, i don't know.
Does it get funnier later and i should continue watching or is this series just not for me?

I feel they only shit themselves about changing a currently white character in to a nigger for no reason (storm troopers suddenly not being clones and having boyega, a man described as white being idris elba, hermione who has been white since day 1 even in JKs mind suddenly being a literal ape.)

atleast they gave a reason for boyega within star wars, most of the shit about him being a nig was when we had only seen the trailer.

so because dwarf would be entierly new, not made from a pre-existing story, 2 black leads would have been fine, like bad boys.

watch 2 or 3 episodes from season 4.

if you like neither the 1st season stuff or the 4-6 stuff then the show isn't for you.

It's not for you. It definitely went over your head.

Actually it's canon that storm troopers phased out being clones sometime after the rise of the empire itself, so boyega wasn't out of place to start with.

Race swapping is alright to get into an upset about because some people are fond of the characters as they existed in their original state.

That being said, what I think is actually happening here is that people have tunnel visioned so hard on this SJW thing that they automatically view everything through this weird prejudicial lens as if it's intrinsically agenda oriented whereas minority characters from series that came earlier don't draw this hostility because people don't make the lazy mental association between them and SJWs or what have you.

It's like some weird racist version of rose tinted glasses.

Finish the season and see if it grows on you. If you don't like the rimmer/lister dynamic then the show might not be for you.

>Actually it's canon that storm troopers phased out being clones sometime after the rise of the empire itself, so boyega wasn't out of place to start with.

cool, I didn't know this until I watched the movie; it obviously wasn't mentioned in 4,5,6 because 1,2,3 didn't exist when they were made.

Is it mentioned in a book or one of the tv shows?

Thanks

Non white people complain there's not enough non white actors or art creators, and instead of creating art they force themselves into white art

If an asian guy wrote Red Dwarf and cast an Asian guy in it, nobody would be like "wow that's so wrong", it's the baby pandering where people demand to be part of things they didn't create that's stupid

I want to say they mention it late in one of the cartoons, it's also very probably in the books but I didn't read them so I can only hazard a guess.

If you're attempting a subtle meme by implying neither of those are canon though, Disney did grandfather in the Clones wars CGI cartoons and some books as canon.

But that shit is legit or whatever.

GOAT episode

Found an actual canon explanation from an insider person.

Enjoy

Reminder that: the grim reaper was hologram (ace) rinmer returned to main universe to switch places with nano rimmer

not meme i swear

I was giving reason for freak outs over black people in white roles.

I like boyega in the movie, he was great as comic relief, but when I saw the trailer my first thought was since when was jango fett a black guy!? why did they retcon that?

Explained in the movie, but the freak out was over the trailer.

and you saw season 9 where?

don't make things up.

Rimmer probably sacrificed kochanski to keep himself alive, typical rimmer.

great answer, thanks user.

I wish that had been explained in a movie before episode 7, but when 4,5+6 came out they probably didn't even have ideas about 1,2+3.

Season's 1-3 are a bit hit and miss, but it picks up

watched it since i was a kid and i didn't even bother watching the last one. didn't they go to corrie or some shit?

>Wanted to watch red dwarf recently
>Find out its been removed on Netflix
FUCK

I've seen in literally dozens of times, but I think it's a Red Dwarf

Kill yourself

If you are seriously relying that much on Netflix you deserve it.

10 had the best joke in the entire series' run though

Lister talking to the recording of himself on Father's Day

Didn't this go off the air years ago? Why is it back?

Quarantine, Gunmen and Tikka to Ride.

If you wanna keep your beer cold, stick it between his legs!

Just wait. They take it off for a few months and then it comes back. I assume its an issue with the licensing window.

Only joking

>Tikka to Ride.
really?

The one where lister assassinates JFK when they go back in time for a curry run? Whats wrong with it?

There's nothing wrong with it, I just wouldn't rank it among the best. It suffers from the lack of Rob Grant, like all of 7 and 8.

Fair enough. One of the better post grant episodes i think.

>like all of 7 and 8.
Out of those ones it's my favorite.

Oh, okay.

Hyped

It was great, it's all great apart from BTE

>expecting the right answer when you didn't even post the image
So what is it?

A magic doorway.
