Is anyone here willing to be real for just a second and admit that most of the love for this movie on this board is another one of its shitty memes?

Memes tend to be sarcastic so yes it is a shitty meme when you meme what you actually feel for a movie.

I genuinely like this movie

I also genuinely like this movie.

Hi meme.

It's legitimately a great film

not a meme nigger

I could say the same about Game of Thrones

That garbage is being promoted to hell on this board

fuck off pleb

I was willing to accept that some people might've actually liked MoS for whatever reason, but all the overzealous love for BvS which was genuinely lame leads me to believe the love for both movies isn't legit and is either Ironic, based on contrarian values, or paid for by WB.

For the record, neither movie was "Bad," it's just that neither movie was "Good." They just kinda exist.

I liked BvS, and there were great parts of Man of Steel, but I can confidently say I felt Snyder consistently drops the ball when writing Superman.

I'll be real with you. It's my favorite cape film. I'm watching it right now.

This. Batman was great in BvS, Supes sucked ass. And I don't think it's Cavill's fault.

All the fight scenes were absolute garbage

That was the best part of the movie. What do you get out of lying here?

I liked it. I thought the martha bit was retarded. And the wonder woman shit felt tacked on. Better than man of steel. Better than avengers too. 7/10

>it's a OP admits he's under the age of 16 and doesn't understand kino movies episode

What do YOU get out of lying here?

V>IV>III>VI>VII>II>I

The only accurate ranking

I loved MoS and BvS. Sorry Marvelcuck.

Anyone who doesn't like it is dumb.

The DCIDF excels at zeal and inability to grasp reality.

I always tell the truth and never shitposts please leave

even the critics liked the fight scenes. you know, the ones who disney paid to shit on the movie?

stay in your lane fuccboi

It's a form of cognitive dissonance. People with opposing points of view frequently harbor suspicions that holders of an opposing view hold that view with ulterior motives while secretly agreeing with the other's views.

It's one of the reasons that topics like religion(or its absence) and politics tend to generate such visceral animosity between people. Unlike science, there are just too many subjective factors for any side to conclusively prove themselves "right" on a purely logical level.

I love this movie and any and every reason I give will be insufficient to the task of convincing a single person I'm not a troll or a shill if that's what they choose to believe.

You choose your world.

>fuccboi
Really? Come on guy. Dont be a faggot

I genuinely love it. It's got great action, cinematography and is full of emotional scenes.

Stop forcing this meme that it's a meme to hate this movie.

The car chase was pretty cool. But he's right. The fight scenes were trash.

making meme's about is the only way marvelfags can compete.

when justice league comes out, it's over for the mouse.

good post user

It's a great movie fuckfase. Def. Kapekino

>The moment he destroys the world engine
Beautiful.

I genuinely love both films, but I confess that I dip into the meme well of "kino" and "Lord Snyder" on occasion just because it amuses me. I suspect I'm not the only legitimate fan who does so.

Same here

That's why I deleted it. Too broad of a statement.

Thanks. It pretty much depleted my insight points for the day. I'll have to rest up if I plan on making any wisdom checks or casting any spells tomorrow.

...

I was one of the first to defend this movie here. Most people who defend it now more or less parrot what I said.

I was also being completely, 100% serious. It's a masterpiece. So nah, go fuck yourself simp.

I'm watching it for like the 20th time right now on FX~ Taking 1 for my DC bros and even letting the commercials run

its complete shit

hello faggot whats the matter the jesus analogies are to big for your fedora please shut the fuck up. time will tell this will be the definitive superman movie. say what you will.

Well duh, this is the same board that has kept Baneposting alive

We turn shitty movies into memes

Over the course of my night, I've had Kingdom of Heaven director's cut, Children of Men, and am now rewatching Man of Steel. I've lost count of how many times I've watched it now.

I've never not enjoyed it immensely.

I do this.

I think pretty much all of the Snyder kino meme posters are legit fans.

Differentfag here

I snyderkino post here and there amod mostly serious posts too but I can confirm I am so a legitimate fan as well.

is a decent actioner.
love the superman character since i was a child

solid 7.5/10

Hi memes.

Never watched it.

True. They were cartoony dbz tier.

Hey, memer

i'm legitimetaly like this movie

>ad hominem

Look out, people...he's taking on the whole board!

How will we ever defeat him?

>omg someone has the opposite opinion on something that I dont like!!
>must be memes
Cant believe retards like you exist

>weight of two worlds literally and figuratively on his shoulders
>stands up and flies anyway

How the fuck can you NOT like this movie?

ofc it's a meme, you'll never get one of the brain damaged autists to admit it though

once they saw how horrible the movie flopped their brains went into defcon 1 and the kino meme was born

>hurr durr, if almost no one like it, that must make me special for liking it
>hurr durr it's a misunderstood masterpiece and Snyder is a genius

i'd respect Snyder more if he applied his vision to original content instead of ruining comics

Hi meme

Bad acting? Bad score? Pick one, user.

>b-but the story is great

Lots of bad movies have good stories. The star wars prequels have good stories. A good story is easy. Good acting, good dialogue, good music; those are a little more difficult.

>b-but he saves people!

So fucking what? How is that an accomplisment? Alright everyone. Superman saved the world. We've got a good movie! It doesn't work like that.

I haven't seen many of his movies but if MOS is any indication, he isn't a very good director because the performances he gets out of his actors is sub par and brings the entire movie down.

If the message conveyed in is lost on you, there's nothing I or anyone else can do to help you.

You sound a little frustrated.

Yeah, just ignore what I said before. It's a lot easier to insult my intelligence instead. That's what happens when you don't have an actual argument. I don't expect much more from Snyder fans.

Hi bait.

Your entire argument is subjective. You want me to just kick in with the "no u's" at this late hour? If I hurt your delicate little feelings, I'm sorry. I'm sure you're special in your own way.

>b-but he does heroic things! Its a masterpiece!

I could describe some bad movies' stories and make them sound like masterpieces too.

Best friends, practically brothers, have been torn apart by the dark side and now the corrupted one must be defeated in an epic and deadly final battle that may change the course of the entire galaxy for years to come. Master vs. Apprentice. Good vs. Evil. Sounds pretty sweet. Obviously with a story that good the movie has to be a masterpiece.

oops

Ah so now we cut to the heart of the mater. You clicked on Sup Forums by mistake! Discussion of comics and related canon takes place on Sup Forums. Glad we could sort this out.

One day a cure for paranoia and cynicism will be discovered and you'll be able to function again.

>Superman saving the world doesn't automatically make a great movie

How is this subjective? You going to keep baiting and ignoring my argument or is it back to ad hominem?

Hi bait. Got any actual responses or would you rather persist with ad hominem? I'm noticing a lot of that in this thread.

>Bad acting? Bad score?
It's a good thing neither of those things can be found in "Man of Steel" then.

>ad hominem?
Someone learnt a new term recently.

No argument found in that post

Hi bait.

>No argument found in that post
I made a truthful statement.

Just about the only part of that that's applicable to MoS is the romance between Clark and Lois that I freely admit felt forced.

Lucas actually goes one worse, no, actually three worse by constantly referring to all those bond-building events between Obi Wan and Anakin without even showing them, which was the very thing their relationship needed.

I'm prepared to leave it at this: when I watch MoS, I'm watching a different movie than you, and it speaks to me in a very personal way. If you're not prepared to accept that, then please feel free to samefag the rest of the argument you so clearly want to have.

I seriously hope no one is serious about liking this goofy badly-written flick. All the autistic long posts trying to impart some form of meaning to this tripe make me laugh so fucking hard.

I saw no truth in your statement.

>It speaks to me in a personal way

And this means fucking what to me, or anybody for that matter?

>I saw no truth in your statement.
Then you are blind.

You like it because it speaks to you in a personal way (whatever that way may be)? Fine. That's awesome that you feel some connection to it because it reminds you of something that has happened to you in the past. That doesn't make it a great movie.

You posit that love professed for MoS must be a meme, that people must be trying to trick you (paranoia), presumably because you believe MoS can't be good or alternatively because you believe posters in Sup Forums do not really enjoy movies (cynicism).

>Superman saving the world doesn't automatically make a great movie

I was answering the "bad acting/bad score" bit, but here's the rest:

The image of Superman beneath the world engine conveys to me the message of a man struggling and overcoming through sheer force of will, pushing the envelope of his limitations and doing the impossible.

When you look at it, you see Superman saving the world.

Now try to tell me I'm wrong.

The acting was dull and the score was as generic as possible. Not a single decent melody can be found in it. It's all "woah so epic yet subtle" and pretentious.

>Having a suspicious feeling about something is paranoia

>posters in Sup Forums are well known for having serious discussions about movies

And what was this thread about again?

See, you're doing it again. You need to accept that your personal view of Sup Forums is biased and limited and does not apply to every poster and instance of discussion.

"Man of Steel" is a great film with deep themes and emotional resonance and that wil remain true irrespective of yours or anyone else's opinion.

You may not like "Man of Steel" but that does not mean it is a bad film unlike say "The Avengers" which is almost universally liked and is still complete garbage. Having bad taste in film is allowable but trying to frame that as the correct opinion that everyone else must share is not.

>He's doing heroic things! See, it's a great movie!

Or are you simply trying to argue that that scene depicts superman saving the world? Who's arguing that? What's your point?

The fact that the majority of "MOS is the best capefilm" posts are memes.

>The acting was dull
Subjective.

>the score was as generic as possible
Subjective

>Not a single decent melody can be found in it. It's all "woah so epic yet subtle" and pretentious.

And to me, the score conveys a gentleness, peace and triumph that is perfectly fitting for Superman. It might not be a John Williams fanfare, but then again, Donner's Superman came to us as full-on iconic Supes out of the gate.

>some people have interests and opinions that differs from my own

MEMES! MEEEEMES! LELELEELE

>The acting was dull and the score was as generic as possible. Not a single decent melody can be found in it. It's all "woah so epic yet subtle" and pretentious.
This is not true, the acting is exquisitely revealing of the characters emotional cores and the score is simultaneously bombastic and moving.

The full edition was better than whatever was released in theaters. Still some poor writing tho and wonder woman.... I'm old but I could only see Lucy Lawless pulling off this role properly.

Take your bait elsewhere.

>Subjective

Just like everything you said. How about that? And no the score legitimately sucked it's own dick the whole way through. It was AWE: the album. Pretentious garbage, whereas John Williams managed to invoke a sense of awe while remaining humble.

If the characters emotional cores were all boring then I agree. No soul in the acting.

At this point, you should probably retread the initial post. >Or are you simply trying to argue that that scene depicts superman saving the world? Who's arguing that? What's your point?

Statements like this are what make debate with you pointless. You utterly fail to get the gist of what's being said, but the instant anyone questions your intellect or reading comprehension, you just dismiss it as ad hominem.

When your opponent's being obtuse to the point that it makes you question their mental acuity, it's not an attack anymore; it's genuine concern.

No I'm well able to understand that the world engine scene depicts superman saving the world by pushing himself. Superman Returns pretty much did the same thing with the kryptonite continent and it was just as ridiculous there but it looked better. In MOS he was fighting CGI beams to destroy it. At least the kryptonite continent was a physical mass and didn't look like a joke.

>If the characters emotional cores were all boring then I agree. No soul in the acting.
Again your blindness is apparent. To claim there is no soul in such deeply emotional characters as Zod and Jonathan Kent is unfathomable.

The whole movie lacked a soul, not just the characters. Everything is glossy like it's all cgi for some reason and an uncomfortable amount of color was drained out of every frame. A tiny portion of the characters having emotional depth and character isn't enough.

>ridiculous
>CGI
>joke.
Your vocabulary betrays your state of mind. Go enjoy something ironically since you seem unable to experience genuine emotional responses.

There's nothing humble, subtle. or even original about ripping off Aaron Copland, and this is coming from a John Williams fan.

youtube.com/watch?v=FLMVB0B1_Ts

like your thread?

(You) can stop samefagging now.

>You will travel far, my little Kal-El, but we will never leave you, even in the face of our deaths.
>They can be a great people, Kal-El. They wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way.

THAT provokes an emotional response. A father on a doomed planet sending his infant to a safer planet to give him a chance to live his life and inspire others.

>The whole movie lacked a soul, not just the characters. Everything is glossy like it's all cgi for some reason and an uncomfortable amount of color was drained out of every frame. A tiny portion of the characters having emotional depth and character isn't enough.
To claim that "Man of Steel" lacks soul shows that the emotional deficiency is yours not the films. And to call "Man of Steel" glossy is stating the opposite of reality and why does the colour grading make you uncomfortable? And all the characters have emotional depth, I simply chose the two most obvious counter examples to your claim that all the characters lacked soul.
