What's with your pointy chin

those are ugly pixelated clothes

If you were to kill your enemies, guess who wins.

it's a feature

Go do it

This don't accept commonwealth recruits anymore.

Unlike based Australia.

You can earn money there

They're underresourced and the broader public/govt genuinely doesn't like the military. There's 2 (TWO) reasons.

...

search Santa Claus

But is it still decent

seems to be pretty well paid these days

i dont know why i kekked but i did

> join Canadian forces
> get shot

Also rape

They're all small guys, like their southern brethren.

>Every job in the Canadian Forces is a combat one
>Everyone is infantry

Really makes me think about how little sense this makes.

The vast majority of people never even see combat.

this. joining an army of your own free will is moronic.

>Getting shot
>In a country that only engages in peacekeeping
>IN A NON-COMBAT ROLE

>Getting raped
>in the Canadian military
>Where they can't even yell at you in basic training anymore

It's not like the movies fellas

They're useless

> Be standing in nation's capital
> Get shot

> Be walking around in military college
> Get run over

> be teaching sexual harassment awareness class
> get sexually harassed by students

Cannon fodder for some American general.

>Be sitting at home in parents basement
>Upper floor collapses right where you're sitting and kills you

>Be walking to mcdonalds
>Car drives onto sidewalk and runs you over

>Get brain aneruysm while masturbating to child porn and die with your pants down and your dick out with CP on the monitor

it happens in every army. some moron hits the trigger by while your platoon trains and you are piece of meat.

as for rape if you are good natured , fat , good looking etc. they may gang up on you. any reason you are not like the rest of the army you are going to suffer in a way or another.

> non combat role advising kurdish fighters
> front line shifts
> get shot

Do it. Pays are good. Once I get a degree in Pharmacy Ill join as a pharmacian in the army, hopefully I would get send abroad to make some more money and also not be bothered with having to find a pay for a house.

Dude the rate of getting injured in the Canadian army is so low you're more likely to slip and fall getting into your shower in the morning and die from blood loss.

>as for rape if you are good natured , fat , good looking etc.

I'm big and strong, no one would be able to rape me in the Canadian Forces. I've seen what the people look like.

Serve the queen

well if you say so, but i still recommend watching ''the invisible war'' by kirby dick because if it ever happens to you or some friend of yours, you or your friend in the army, likely will never find justice.

I don't think there's anything to worry about in the Canadian military. From what I've heard the standards are tremendously low in every aspect pretty much

sure, if you really want to be in the military I think being a military officer is a better idea. But don't forget, people are same everywhere, Canadians are just like any other people. if you really wanna go, be careful.

Thanks for the concern senpai but i REALLY don't think it's anything to worry about. Maybe for the Turkish army, but definitely not Canadian.

all right then, good luck.

And the reason i want to join is that it seems bretty cool experience and Canadian Forces is most paid army apparently

Leaf on the uniform - shame on life

You can't be promoted past a certain rank unless you know both English and French.

>google "Russian army dedovshchina"
>kek hard

>Canadian cuckscripts coudn't handle that.
LMAO

If you don't want to do any other trade, why not?
I hope your time in the army goes well. It's better if you are paid for it, don't forget to ask around for more info about your service like ex military personnel you know. It's always better to get information beforehand.

no

I'm thinking about joining the navy after doing my teaching education and can't find any jobs
i really wouldn't mind getting drunk in different nations all across the north atlantic

>based on Lieutenant's and Captain's pay

Might take a while to reach those ranks.

>Getting raped and beaten to death by your own army

Ah yes, another example of Russia not being a shithole.

Hallifax is p. cool.

>Getting raped
Doesn't happens over there. Russian army is extremly homophobic.

Yeah man there's forums and shit, a whole subreddit for Canadian Forces where you can ask questions and stuff. It's pretty active.

Thank you Turkbro. You roaches aren't evil people. I don't know why I disliked you

I think it was just coincidence the benchmark they used for the ranking but you might be right, point is that the pay shouldn't be too crappy.

>Russian army is extremly homophobic.

Probably homophobic like the Prisons. Where it's for faggots to suck dick and get fucked but not gay to do the fucking.

>This is normal in russia

Ah yes, nothing builds camaraderie like getting senselessly beaten by your comrades.

youtube.com/watch?v=M0w2C9HWuUQ

I would doubt it. You're supposed to know both to serve as a federal "député" (dont know the english word) but most of tjem speak bad french. Anyway I speak both so I dont care, learning a second language is easy so if your high ranking military cant do it its because they're pretty dumb.

it's preddy gud, had the boats come into st john's harbour last fall from US, UK, Portugal, Germany etc it was pretty neat

also our uniforms are pretty ok

Aye. Of course a good wage is nice but imho that shouldn't be the reason for enlisting. Nonetheless, it's a great chance to better yourself, find where your limits and boundaries are and even exceed them. You can take the man out of the military but you can't take the military out of the man.

I had no idea how important the Halifax harbor/bay area was in WWII and it has a very cool history.

Nah. Not even like in Prisons.
If something like that would hapen everyone would know. If everyonbe would know then it would be reported. If it would get reported then heads will fall, so they wont allow something like this ever.
Russian army is all about the show exept for few SpecOps.
Fightings, suicides and killings on the other hand are quite common.

no military history except being america´s support unit

>Fightings, suicides and killings on the other hand are quite common.

That's kind of fucked up though dude

It is Russia. What would you expect?
It is not Brazil levels but violence happens especially when you have a big bunch of young guys locked up for 1 year as prisoners with no ability to go anywhere and to do what they want to, basically slavery.

living in east europe ain't easy either

Reasons not to join:
>Gay woodland "ACU" camouflage
>Leaf
>Gay beret insignia
>Wrong beret folding/shaping
>Can't win, the enemy always wins

You don´t like kicked in the stomach for a good start into the day?

What is wrong with you """"people""""? Are you even human?

This was filmed in the military unit I served in btw

...

Recently? Or was this a while ago? How was the experience?

This film was made in the late 90s. I served there last year.
Well it is russian army so expirience is shit of course. You are not treated as a human being but rather like some kind of dog which must be trained.
Foe every mistakes you pay, like the whole company should make push ups, do squats or something similar.
It is often that you don't sleep at all. The whole year they are trying to get as much from your resorces as they can get. You always work, no time to rest. Speaking is forbidden, if it's only not commander or sergeant speaks to you.
You shouldn't have a lot of personal things. Everything is stolen. You should look carefully for you clothes and other shit. If it's get stolen then it is your own fault. They came up with a bulshit term that stolen thing is not stolen but it iis you who fucked it up. Rather you have it or don't you should find yourselve a new one. Nobody cares where and how. If you go to the formation without some your clothes accessory the whole company would get punished.
You can't go to the bathroom when you want. Only during 1 hour after dinner and during the night.
When you get up you have 3 minutes to either brush your teeth or take a piss. Nobody cares if you don't manage it in time.

wtf

I'm slowly starting to realize why people don't like Russia very much over the last few months

You also should pay attention to your weapoon and is ammunition. People like to steal amo from the bags you are keeping it in. If they would manage to do that you must pay to them either in food or money. To lose your ammo is a crime in russian army so you can get send to the disciplinary battalion for that which is another level of Hell.

wtf i DON'T like russia anymore

what a fucking shithole. I can understand why you people are always so aggressive and angry.

I am surprised that you are surprised.
Weren´t you aware of these things?

I fact I was expecting worse.

Where does this kind of behavior stem from? Surely it has drastic negative effects on morale and quality of outcome.

>I am surprised that you are surprised.
>Weren´t you aware of these things?
I'm a russian who was born here
Well, russian army actually train you very well not in terms of warfare but actual communication with people around you. You can't filter assholes out of your circle as you could while free. So you come up with ways to speak with them. It can be hard and it was hard for me since I am really shut in guy, but being shut in isn't an option in the army so I was forced to change some of my behaviour.
You learn to stand for yourself, to not be afraid of such thing as a fight, be able to say your word when you think it's neccessary, so there is a plus.
But I would lie if I also won't mention that sometimes everyone over there had a thought about killing some asshole officer.

>Surely it has drastic negative effects on morale and quality of outcome.
when you're born and raised in shit, and then live in slightly worse shit, it won't do much to you

I imagine most recruits into the army are from buttckfuck-nowhere-livinghellistan rather than moscow or st. pete's, so their choices is either being a poor alcoholic, a poor drug addict, or a slightly less poor soldier

Seems really messed up considering you also have mandatory conscription... So basically pretty much every Russian male has gone through this?

>I imagine most recruits into the army are from buttckfuck-nowhere-livinghellistan rather than moscow or st. pete's, so their choices is either being a poor alcoholic, a poor drug addict, or a slightly less poor soldier

I suppose this also makes sense, then.

As I see it when you get in the army there is at least conscripts that were conscripted earlier. They were treated like shit their first half year so now it is their turn to make you, new conscripts feel the same they felt.
Officers are always assholes. Everyone only thinks about himself so that creates conflict situations.

Russian society is very strange.

i was watching some videos about Russian prisons and they're even more strange.

Yeah I was thinking something along those lines. We also had some bullshit unofficial traditions passed down from previous conscripts such as having to salute properly and waiting for a permission to enter a smoking booth if there was a higher ranking conscript in there.
But other than that, no hazing whatsoever.

Some just buy the papers and don't serve. Some have some sort of disability that prevents them from service. Others try to stay low from the goverment until they hit 27 years when they can't be conscripted anymore. But most of the young guys serve nowdays.
Not true.
The only thing I coud say about guys from Moscow is that they are sissies mostly. They cry to much. Other guys are more norma, excet those from Caucasus region.
I also noticed that all thieve guys were from Omsk. They are trash in general.

>excet those from Caucasus region.
these are?

I serve with a guy who also served in Ukr army before getting russian citizenship.
Over there he told me they have a fucked up tradition where conscript who goes home must go from headquarters to the gates and when he goes out of headquartes all young conscripts start chase him trying to catch him and beat him down. There were often cases of broken limbs and broken teeth as I was told.

Dagestan, Osetiya mostly

>TFW this could have been my fate

I am so happy my parents immigrated to Canada

I mean how are they? How do they behave?

Ignore the orders.
Don't work.
Start fights
Agressive in general
There are a lot of their folk among officers so they get them covered.
In one word - Corruped as everything in Russia.
Might also say that there were a lot of russian scum too.

weak ass bitch

That sounds like a bad experience senpai.

Did you make it through O.K? What was the worst thing you've seen? What are you doing now?

I know :) and it's great that I have the ability to be one. Damn man sometimes I forget how people in other parts of the world live.

I made it good.
Since I am Medic they transfer me to medical platoon later where I worked with surgeons and only met those guys during appointments.
Treated the wounds and all that.
I haven't seen the worse if I wouldn't count medical encounters. Only heard about some shit that happens. Like some kid who attempted suicide or some guy who jumped out of the window from 4th floor because he was told to.

Yeah, you're lucky in some sense. But it's always awesome to look back at these obstacles and challenges and to realize that they didn't screw you.

btw, is the SKS still in use or is it totally out
I've heard that the modern chinese army will still use it in their more outlying and hostile regions

I'm getting one this summer and just curious

Sure but I'd always prefer my current situation. Feels good man.

It's just crazy to think about, sometimes when I don't feel like going to the gym for example I think about kids in Cambodia missing their arms or something and then I go to the gym because I realize I'm healthy in a first world country with above average wealth while people starve.

Idk man, just the contrast between me *considering* joining the Canadian Forces to get paid good money to have fun while some kid is getting beaten in the Russian army is interesting to think about. Maybe it's just me though.

I've never seen it during conscription service.

Okay that's good to hear that you didn't experience much(?) harm.

What are you doing now?

Continue my study at Med Uni.

How often did you shoot?
I remeber another russian saying the he only had to shoot like 1-3 times.

He said he was basically a work slave for his corrupt officer

Oh.

Thanks for sharing, it was interesting to read.

>the
that

As a medic I didn't really shoot. I did it like couple of times. Both times shooting 30 bullets.
But usually conscripts go to the shooting range once in a month.

I served my time in Finnish army

t. finnish navy seal

How could finnish bois even compete?

As a hilariously delayed response since I was busy, they're comparatively good. More technological and specialist than most other western countries since they're a small one and can fill in with the Americans. It's still kind of shitty though, like a lot of equipment and gear is outdated and had to be drawn out of retirement for Afghanistan, for example. Trudeau hasn't indicated it will get any better (although Harper was equally awful). It's not a terrible career path though, it's not like in the US where you serve four years of your prime and then are tossed out. It's more a genuine lifetime career in CAF.

True. I did hear that actual - that equipment wasn't really "top notch".

I've heard a lot of people left too because they were displeased. Not sure if I'd make it a long term career but I feel right now that a few years would be a positive experience for me and then I'd see from there.

Apparently some recruiters are worse than others as the one I went to wasn't particularly keen it felt like.

Your lack of conscription is disturbing
