My current mouse and keyboard, the tt esports poseidon and the razer naga chroma...

My current mouse and keyboard, the tt esports poseidon and the razer naga chroma, have shit the bed after almost 3 years. So now I need a new set up. How is the Corsair Gaming K70 RGB RAPIDFIRE Mechanical Keyboard and the Corsair Gaming SCIMITAR RGB MOBA/MMO Gaming Mouse?

As a side note, why do all 'gaming' related products have to change every color under the sun? I always turn the colors off anyway but it's so much extra money for nothing.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Lights suck.

I have a K70 Lux, and a Logitech G600. They are fantastic.

Yeah, I wish there were versions of all their products that have RGB and a cheaper regular version. The colors are useless and an eye sore after 10 minutes.

what's the difference between your K70 Lux and the one I posted? The look the same

I can't see the 12 side buttons on that mouse being very user friendly. Unless you have double-jointed thumbs it's gonna be a pain to reach the more rearward rows of buttons. Any more than 2-3 side buttons is a gimmick.

Razer sells non-chroma items.

The G600 is the best value for money I've come across and the best design and usability.

The Corsair is a pain to use because of where the thumb grid is located and how it's set up.

This is my current mouse, personally, I macro all the buttons to something in my games, or at lelast alll the buttons that alllow macros which is 9 or so out of 12. When I used to play League I would have my sums on 1 and 2 and 4 for attack champs only and all the other ones for pings and emotes. Now that I only play Overwatch I use 1 and 2 for my abilities and 4 for melee and the others for emotes. So I use most of them. And for web browsing they're pretty great because even without macros they all work on web pages.

Maybe I just have bigger hands becasue I can touch both ends of the mouse no problem. It feels like I'm shaking hands with a mouse though.

I've owned Razor Nagas, Mat Catz M.M.O.7, and now the Logitech G600.

The Nagas are the worst in terms of quality, if you're after an expensive mouse the M.M.O.7 is the way to go.

Value for money is the G600. I've had it a few years now and the only thing wrong with it is the braiding on the wire has started to wear.

the one I posted apparently has adjustable hears all over it so you can move the thumb buttons further up or back and also change how wide the mouse is as well.

The switches and no gawdy rainbow.

The side buttons are all very easy to use, actually. You should try it out if you ever get a chance to hold one. After using the G600, I can't go back to using a regular mouse. It's become as important to me as keyboard shortcuts.

I've got a Corsair K70 blue switches, not RGB though. The keyboard is just fucking fantastic, get it cause you won't be sorry.

Got this on the way but red switch, hopefully better than my meme razer keyboard

Rapid fire: corsair.com/en-us/k70-rgb-rapidfire-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-cherry-mx-speed-rgb-na

I never know how to compare these things. They use so much 'hip lingo' and shit that I don't know what's bs advertising and what's and actual fact. They both seem the same to me but the rapid fire says it has 'Cherry MX Speed RGB' where as the Lux just has Cherry MX RGB Red.

Is the one you have the The Vengeance K70 Gaming Keyboard? If so the keyboards seem pretty similar but with a hundred dollar difference

It is, you're gonna love the aluminum body. As far as I know Corsair uses only quality materials, unlike shitty Razer plastic.

I own a K95 RGB with red switches, and the Scimitar. They're both amazing, I have the extra mouse buttons all bound to web browsing commands when im not in a game. Last tab/Next tab, forward/backward, close tab, reopen last closed tab, enter, f5. Amazing for porn browsing. But yeah the buttons feel really nice on the mouse, and the keyboard is absolutely amazing. Personally I keep the lights off on both, as they do get annoying. But when im listening to music I like to turn my keyboard into a Spectrograph with this program called Corsair Effects Engine. I love my keyboard.

Yeah, the one with the old logo, I bought it last year before Corsair announced the RGB which I wouldn't have bought tbh.

The rapidfire just has different switches that have a shallower key press.

The biggest thing you should take into consideration - that isn't blatantly visible - is the colour of the Cherry MX switches.

There's brown, red, blue, and green. If you can go into a physical store and try the different colours side by side, do that.

Nice, so now I'll get the mouse but I still need to find a keyboard. The one you mentioned seems cool but all those G-buttons I feel like I won't have a use for since I don't pay MMO's. And with the 12 mouse buttons I don't know what I could set them for. I do do a lot of editing and artwork so I could use them for shortcuts there. Hmmm

Have a Logitech g502. It's god tier.
Kb is roccat iska fx. Is okay tier. I prefer switches than membrane, but the forced clicking in most switch kb (I'm looking at you razer) is annoying as fuck, so finding a switch kb that doesn't click is what I'm after next

I think my current keyboard has blue switches. It's pretty loud but I love how the keys feel and have buff fingers from using it all the time.

Is the difference between the colors response time? Or is it loudness? I feel like I've heard the brown ones are the quietest.

Edit: doesn't click loudly.

Loudness, press weight, travel distance, reset depth...
Just google a comparison of the different Cherry MX switches - this is the most common question asked. It's not as complicated or vast as it might seem. Spend 15 minutes reading about the switches before you spend $150.
