Fuck off govnar

australians WILL try to claim this

At least post some youtube links, you snow nigger or do you expect me to google that moon language of yours?

We had a popular song on the radio with lyrics about trigger happy trannies and a teacher seeking "masculine, muscular nappy-clad brutal breeding".

Nah.

All Nick Cave projects. no other Australian matches his achievements

Aлиca (Alisa) - hard rock/christian rock
Aгaтa Кpиcти (Agatha Christie) - gothic rock/brit pop
Myмий Tpoлль (Mumiy Troll') - brit pop
Maшинa Bpeмeни (Mashina Vremeni) - psychedelic rock/pop rock
ДДT (DDT) - pop rock
Ceктop Гaзa (Sector Gaza) - punk rock/horror punk/pop music/rapcore/folk rock

Courtney Barnett I guess
Dunno don't listen to music much anymore

Rush, but everybody's heard of them.

Here's some cheesy local pop punk that I like youtube.com/watch?v=jBklpM_eCnM

We know also about AC/DC (2bh shit band in my opinion).
Just copy and paste it to YouTube, retard. Also I have slow internets here at my job.
You have pretty good psychedelic bands like Tame Impala (earlier works are better though) and Deep Sea Arcade (well, the latter has a big admixture of surf rock and twee pop).

I remember that Orange Alabaster Mushroom were Canadian band but I am not sure.
Also you have spoiled your reputation forever with creating such a monster as Bieber.

Living Colour is bretty gud.
youtube.com/watch?v=MQcPB1WkISI
youtube.com/watch?v=WhMuGPMzvS8
The Buzzhorn, they're a rare and long-gone group but I like them.
youtube.com/watch?v=4HzP5FSbvhY

Not really a rock person, so sorry I don't have much to offer (these are just examples btw).

Oh fuck, lemme add Stone Temple Pilots to that list.

Krautrock is still the best and most underrated genre from my country, sadly it seems to be more popular abroad
youtube.com/watch?v=QAhTMkXAPUk

I can recommend some bands from socialist countries westerners don't know about.
Puhdies - DDR
Berluc - DDR
Omega - Hungary
Pesnyary - Belarus. They started like a rock band but ended as a shitty folk.
Ocean Elzy - Ukr*ine
Propeller - Latvia as far as I remember
There was some great progressive band from Turkmenistan but I forgot their name
David Tukhmanov - On a waves of my memory (great rock album from official soviet compositor)
t. I like really old music

yeah, it's great, just incomparably better than Neue Deutsche Welle which was pure schmaltz.

However, in our parts, rock music only really found its bearings in the 1980s and (post-)punk remains the best and most distinctive pop genre we have had.

>Krautrock
Great thing, really like it, especially Can (Tago Mago is great masterpiece), Neu, Amon Duul II

Finland has metal, you know that. We also have Hurriganes, a classic blues rock band whose biggest hit Is a Johnny B Goode-rip off
Then we have Hanoi Rocks, shit glam rock band
Also Peer Günt, very good heavy rock band
Then theres Klamydia, good punk rock band

Here's summertime blues for you
youtu.be/TqC7WO7vEkE

what do you think of Grazhdanskaya Oborona? some mate from Russia told me it's sorta the most famous "Post-Punk" band from UdSSR after Kino
youtube.com/watch?v=Hy1D-EewVMs

>only really found its bearings in the 1980s
Why? We were way more closed and first our rock bands appeared in late 60s - early 70s (Mashina Vremeni, Rossiyane, Sankt-Peterburg). My dad had his band in 1973 - 1980.
>(post-)punk remains the best and most distinctive pop genre we have had.
Well, we had and have a lot but post-punk and gothic rock seem to be the most popular among with folk rock and hard rock.

shit mistake the flag, sorry :DDD

Also Viikate, rautalankarock band. Very melancholic

>Grazhdanskaya Oborona
Their frontman is in OP pic. It's not a post-punk. They started with low fi punk rock and than were slowly drifting to psychedelic rock. The guy and his band are really the legends here and they are hugely respected.
First, Letov was a radical left. He told that his ideas were close to Lenin and RAF and he was among founders of NBP (national-bolshevist party).
Second, he was really anti-capitalist, it was not a meme for him. He principally recorded his music in DIY way. In 1991 he renamed his band into Yegor I Opizdenvshiye (Yegor and Mad Cunts or so, it's difficult to translate Opizdenevshiye) to not become a commercial project.
Third, he was really repressed by KGB, they put him to the psychiatric hospital and made him eat neuroleptics without correctors.
Fourth, his songs were very patriotic, and has a huge energy and really Russian spirit in it. I would say Grazhdanskaya oborona is an essence of Russian culture in music.
He was also the only one really unique musician in Russian rock who did not copy the westerners.
Best tracks:

>Why? We were way more closed and first our rock bands appeared in late 60s - early 70s

Coz we are way smaller and the whole scene was centered in Ljubljana, where the festival song scene (slovenska popevka), centered around just two bandleaders and a handful of singers/bands and composers, dominated popular music until the advent of punk. On the other hand you had the immensely successful (internationally, too) rural polka/waltz genre that many preferred to rock. the 50s. Though there also existed many Hendrix imitators and jazz-rock bands, as well as singer-songwriters, in that era, their music was largely derivative or tame and lacked the social reflectiveness and self-expression that would appear with Pankrti, Yugoslavia's first punk band, in 1977, after which the floodgates opened. A notable exception among the hippie artists was Buldožer, a mid 70s band that sort of chanelled Frank Zappa for Yugoslavia, but they sang exclusively in Serbo-Croatian.

Where's Kalevala vitun ryssä

Kingston wall. God tier guitarist
youtube.com/watch?v=TtBcWlO5b4

Smack. Guns n roses was influeced by them, nirvana made cover of their song "run rabbit run"
youtube.com/watch?v=YDGSMlnFyCA

Hurriganes. They had the best guitarist from Finland, Albert Järvinen. Bands like Dr feelgood and slade asked him to join their bands

Russian rock was started with that. Great song
Everything's easy
Fairytales lie
Sunny island
Hid itself into a fog
Someone made a mistake
You or me?
Great person. When I want to get some energy I turn on his Myshelovka album and 40 minutes later I am ready to crush the mountains.

>Kingston wall

I remember these guys, a friend of mine used to listen to them. Finnish bands in general seem to draw a crowd here. There was HiM, the Rasmus, and I once almost found myself at a Sunrise Avenue concert. It was pretty packed.

Interesting, thanks for the summary. I just used Post-Punk in quotation marks to describe anything that distinguishs from classic Punk.
Dropping my favourites from the 80s then:
Xmal Deutschland: youtube.com/watch?v=GwjHcQFCXQA
Abwärts: youtube.com/watch?v=pAJrE3t7GBI
Die Goldenen Zitronen: youtube.com/watch?v=zICbt6BZmz8
Fehlfarben: youtube.com/watch?v=3ckAlX7mSno
youtube.com/watch?v=iJhz0HpdfTg (only that single song)

also some current band which strongly orientates to that era: youtube.com/watch?v=81SV1-veyqw

Eкaтepинa Beликaя was a cool band. But it's really strange. You printed tons of rock albums, from Sgt. Pepper to Led Zeppelin. People here bought Yugoslavian vynils pretty often. I can't believe that a way less closed country wasn't influenced by rock before the 80s meanwhile we had a huge rock boom since 60s, and we even had stylyagi in 50s and early 60s who were listening to rock and roll so we basically were on the same musical wave with the West despite the Iron curtain. My dad bought his guitar in 1972 from a bunch of hippies - we had hippies in a shitty provincial city in 1972.

First k-pop singer 2bh
I also really like Kino

>good rock music
>dat list

Jesus H. Christ. Russia has almost no good music, old stuff was all stolen from Western songs, new stuff is shit tier. Also only delusional 18 year olds can enjoy Kino. Enjoy your aids.

I was talking exclusively about the Slovenian scene, though the Yugo scene in general was torpid in the hippie days and was mainly notable only for producing 'shepherd rock' local superstars Bijelo Dugme and not much else. The pattern of a punk explosion of musical expression repeated itself in wider Yugoslavia however, with the difference that it was much poppier and lighter in tone than its Slovenian counterpart, and this goes for Croatian and Bosnian music especially. Serbocroatian-language hits of the 1980s are still played in every Slovenian urban disco and recognised by people who weren't even born yet at the time. Ekaterina Velika is an example of the more alternative Beograd scene, and is also widely known in Slovenia today. I'm more of a Šarlo Akrobata guy myself tho.

exUSSR use piracy instead of legal purchase of music, therefore there is no stimulus for creating of local music.

spanish music in general sucks

Gorky park is shit. As well as all the Russian metal/hard rock. We can't into metal, everything we do is extremely cringe shit like Ariya or Epidemia. Metal is cringe shit itself, but Russian metal is an 80s dinosaur with mental retardness.

What did Yegor steal, you retard? And most of the others? Okay, Tsoi liked copying The Cure and The Smiths, but the others are pretty okay. And Tsoi still created a great music.

even Korrozia Metalla? I liked them a lot back in my edgy metalhead times
youtube.com/watch?v=RvI5xt3pa3Q

Why do Russian rock artists always die young? Is it just the brutality of the environment or might it be drugs?

>What did Yegor steal, you retard?

Nothing he was a retard, and created the music for the likes of him.

> And Tsoi still created a great music.
>great music for drunk retards who havent knew nothing better because USSR blocked everything decent.

Here I fixed that for ya.

>Gorky park is shit

Well the only band that made it is shit then. Good to know.

Heroin, alcohol etc. I wouldn't call them artists tho, especially Letov.

Cem Karaca - Prog,Alt
Erkin Koray - Anatolian
Barış Manço - Anatolian,pop

great stuff desu, especially Koray

>criticizing Tsoy
>Posting shit metal band from Ariya family
Oh God
Their music is mediocre but it's about texts, concerts with nude girls and dude cosplaying Hitler and their front man Pauk personality.
Not all die young, also
Tsoy died in a car crash accident
Letov died because of heart attack (he liked drugs and alcohol though)
Gorshok died because of drug overdose
Bashlachev commited a suicide
Hoy died because of drugs killed his liver

What's Anatolian? Gonna check Turkish rock as I come home.
Also Turkic languages seem to be created for metal.
2bh I like all these BIJI BIJI ROJAVA music but it may trigger you.

French rock is like english wine.

The most known french hard rock song is probably this one
youtube.com/watch?v=_-s6951-hT0

In the western part of Yugoslavia, almost no rock artists ever died unnatural deaths. But in Serbia, almost the entire line-up of Ekaterina Velika died of heroin abuse and related causes. Maybe this was because Beograd was the only actual metropolis in Yugoslavia, with accordingly relaxed social norms.

>criticizing Tsoy

Criticizing is when you don't like something in particular about something, I'm just saying that the whole thing was shit. Prove me wrong, Vanya.

>Posting shit metal band from Ariya family

Ariya is yet another shitty band with no original content.

Also this whole thread is cancerous starting from an OP-post. Posting a random list of bands without videos, without anything, as if anyone would bother lurking about some mediocre bands from other country language of which they do not know.

Turkish Folk Music + Rock.I am in the western part in Turkey so i dont care at all.

Do you like Tarkan? :-DDDDD

Let me translate some wisdom of Pauk, their band leader:
— For action "Rock against AIDS" We hired an extra amount of girls for our sex show and gave it a powerful promotion. As a show was "Anti-AIDS" we decided to emphasize it by showing acts of zoophilia i.e. girls having sex with animals. The day before the concert our agent Kostya "Teethy" had bought in a village ten hens, two enormous goosed and five rabbits. All the night these beasts were sitting in m garage and after that we put them to a make up room to girls. Soon some enthusiasts started to pour beer to a gooses' food and gave marijuana to hens, as a result one of goosed become wildly high and when girls started to dress up, making their titties and pussies nude, he attacked one of them and started wildly sodomize her, she caught euphoria, and others ran away. As neurotics demanded, we tied the goose and sent Lena to a hospital to check her for pregnancy.

Fuck you bitch. Where is Sector Gaza? Fabulous russian redneck-pop-punks ewer.

>Ariya is yet another shitty band with no original content.
Yet you post black obelisk, totally the same tier band.
The best French rock bad is Aphrodite's Child but they were actually Greek refugees in France who escaped from fascist dictatorship in Greece (black colonels regime).
Also
They were Greeks.

In a following post below.
