I agree that Deathcore is awful but I feel like Doris is just something that is popular to hate as of right now despite the fact that it's not all that bad, there are many a worse songs being released at the moment.

I'd say it's partially because it's different and has clean vocals, but mostly because the songs and new cleans in general are fucking garbage.

Doris and the self titled album as a whole isn't terrible but it's not the direction I hoped they would go in.
I thought with Eddie Hermida in the band they would go in a more traditional death metal direction, getting more technical and less chuggy
I hated nu-metal back in the day and I hate it even more now all these warped tour metal bands are trying to bring it back.
