was this album the pinnacle of metal?
Was this album the pinnacle of metal?
No
Neg
I like this one best ( Same guitarist )
nope, it's don't break the oath
megadeth is megashit
My nigga right here. Saw the King last year. Awesome!
well, Dave wrote most of that album too
You will never even be able to play the first song on this album on a guitar
must be why its one of the worst metallica albums
And? If that's your criteria for being good why isn't Yngwie Malmsteen the pinnacle of metal for you?
he wrote alot on Ride and a few on MoP too. Dave wrote every "good" Metallica song
...
excellent point. with stupid criteria like that awesome and charming bands like venom get disregarded.
pretty much,
typical metallifaggot, "I can't stand his vocals!1! DxDX"
He also wrote songs on ride the lightning, which is heralded as one of the best Metallica albums.
The best part of this album was being a kid in Jr. High cranking this shit with the Gulf War live on TV everynight after school.
His vocals are shit though, you can't even deny it.
Well the technicality of the album is definitely a plus. There's no denying this album is complex as fuck. Not just Reign in Blood "if I play fast it sounds hard" tier. Dave is an amazing guitarist. This album is heavy as fuck, groovy as fuck, technical and fuck, and so on. Not many metal album can compete
GIVE ME ALCHEMY
GIVE ME SORCERY
GIVE ME WIZARDRY
THERMATOLOGY, ELECTRICITY
>Ride the Lightning - Mustaine wrote a single riff that appears before Hammet's solo.
So basically he didn't write any good Metallica song.
I fucking love that album. It's a pinnacle of metal, but not THE pinnacle.
He also wrote Call and he claims to have written Leper Messiah
Face it, Metallica have 4 good albums. Dave wrote most of one and a few songs on the others. Meanwhile Megadeth is still cranking out amazing albums to this day. Metallifags are the worst
Call of Ktulu and Leper Messiah aren't good songs.
where in there did I say they're good songs?
>Metallifags arfe the worst
Truest sentence I ever read on Sup Forums
thatsbait.jpg
My point was that Mustaine didn't write any good Metallica songs, you responded that he also wrote these other songs in an attempt to refute my point which would imply you think they are good.
No, I was just pointing out he wrote Metallica songs on nearly every one of their good albums. How many Megadeth albums feature songs written by James or Lars?
None, which is why megadeth is shit.
ITT 13 year olds shit on great music older than their parents.
Metallifags are the WORST
Killing is my Business
Peace Sells
Rust in Peace
Countdown to Extinction
So Far so Good
Youthanasia
Dystopia
Endgame
vs
Kill em All (basically a Megadeth album)
Ride
Master
Justice
yeah, Megadeth is shit
My dad was born before The Beatles.
LOADS of trash vs some really great songs
>yeah, Megadeth is shit
Agree
NO.
I'm 24. My dad is 49
Talking about VS. when both bands have no artistic pull in today's industry
That's one pinnacle. This album is another.
how so?
I'm Dave Mustaine btw.
wat
Go listen to Dystopia. It was released this year.
I love this album. I seen them at a festival a few years back. They're "DUDE WEED LMAO: The band"
Metallica also sucks, fuck these two overrated bands
Mr. Dave. I saw you last month. You really mailed it in.
Beyond the Permafrost is better, the new EP is really good too.
Because, like "your" album, it's exactly what metal should be. 8 guitar solos in every song. Also pretty sure Dave Mustaine has better things to do than fuck around on Sup Forums.
No.
This was:
youtube.com
Hangar 18 is solo crazy
The best that Megadeath has to offer. Will say that, for it's time it was decently relevant. Both bands, probably one of the last albums to be a good commercial release for metal.
Alternative rock started taking over and proving to pull a good crowd
nigger Iron Maiden is hard rock at best and not metal
le 666 xD
btw, Powerslave and Seventh Son are better
That's true, but I think Tornado of Souls is the best song on the album. Every song on that album is amazing though.
Dave, what is your favorite song On RIP?
I don't think any of the band's had much influence on metal after the 90's
Tornado has a fucking insane solo. My favorite song is probably Five Magics. I love Holy Wars but I've listened to it way to much.
This. only song that I can say is a strong performance on the album
>the pinnacle of metal?
No album is the pinnacle of metal, its a meaningless statement. You can't condense all metal into one group and decide rust in peace is the best album.
pinnacle of Megadeth's career? Most likely. Either that or peace sells.
6 - 6 - 6

Yes
>believing that people believe that Dave browses Sup Forums
do you have a case of the dumbs?
u finna start shit niga?!
Yes.
To those who said no, post which album you think is the pinnacle and I'll tell you why it's shit
Unlikely. It's definetly pretty high on the list, along with Ride the Lighting, but I wouldnt say its THE pinnacle of metal.
you cant
BROTHER WILL KILL BROTHER
SPILLING BLOOD ACROSS THE LANDDD
8-bit metal rulz
youtu.be
both Blood Mountain and Leviathan are better and neither of those are even close to the pinnacle
not the best mastodon album is still better than every other band's best
You think a Megadeth album is the pinnacle of metal, why would you think I give two fucks about what you think?
> Iron Maiden is hard rock at best and not metal
Iron Maiden, the most well-known band of the entire NWOBHM movement. That's New Wave of British Heavy Metal.
its rather in the description.
or do you think that Kanye West is punk, or something equally fucking stupid?
yes
>no one has posted this masterpiece yet
Slayer is the best
Metal thread and no one has mentioned Rammstein? The mere existence of Rammstein is the pinnacle of metal.
Saw them live in Cleveland 2012
Reign is so overrated it's not even funny. The speed gimmick is pretty boring tbqh
best Slayer album coming through
...
Such a fuckin' incredible show; caught them that year in Phoenix.
I'll concede that, but Hell Awaits is my fav Slayer of all time next to RiB
Masters of Reality and Vol 4 are better
I developed multiple tumors listening to slayer, but some of them might have come from the fans around me.
Opeth - Blackwater Park was the pinnacle of metal in my book
South of Heaven > Show no Mercy > Hell Awaits > Seasons > Reign
I honestly can't argue with you there, but I really do like Seasons in the Abyss more.
I would put it as:
Hell Awaits > Show no Mercy > Seasons > South of Heaven > Reign
then post-1990 Slayer:
Repentless > Christ Illusion > Divine Intervention > World Painted Blood > God Hates Us All > Diabolus
My nigga, pinnacle of music right here
Seasons has some great songs but I just love the atmosphere on South. It sounds so...just gloomy. I don't even know how to describe it. I find South heavier. I feel they tried to go more commercial on Seasons
Ununseptium is the heaviest metal of all time. Look it up faggots.
Masters of Reality and Vol 4 are better
Not even the best of Sabbath
First off, master* of reality
And second, no
They are on the same level, but paranoid is the be all end all
Not necessarily pinnacle but still fucking thrash as hell. Favorite on the album is Sealed With a Fist
Paranoid is their most famous but not their best. Master is so well written. Song for song, it blows Paranoid out of the park. Vol 4 is just heavy as fuck and miles ahead of Paranoid. B-but muh Electric Funeral
EVIL WOMAN DONT YA PLAY NO GAMESS WITH MEEEE
I'm glad this thread has progressed from arguing about Megadeth and Metallica. I was about to go look for that dick rating thread.
Yeah, the whole album is just so rock solid . Into the Void is my favorite Sabbath song, I think.
Megadeth > Metallica
Anybody who disagrees of either
a) retarded
b) pleb
yOUR lOVE FOR mEEE hAS jUST gOT TO bE rEAAL
bEFORE yOU kNOOW THE wAYYYY iM gOING TO fEEL!
>those bass solos between tracks
Two Bands full of old irrelevant men, Both of which cannot hold a candle to bands half their age.
The bait is strong in this thread
have you heard Dystopia?
Putting out an album doesn't make your band relevant
Personal Fav
Who /blackmetal/ here?
Putting out a fast and heavy as fuck albums makes them relevant to what you were saying. These dudes still headline huge festivals year after year. Headline festivals over bands that are half their age.
