do you ever feel bad for people who grew up in the time of shitty pop music and can't appreciate the true musicians of today?

I think they're both talented in their own way because I'm not full of edgy bullshit.

I hate nigger music.

Man that makes me want to ride my bicycle

10/10 user the world could be more like you

Id much rather ride a bike than be sad about being black.

This is perfect

I feel bad for people who think any one time or genre of music is the best instead of realizing all eras and genres have things to offer.

Music was created by blacks.
get over it white boi.

No because not only do they have access to all the same music I grew up with, they have access to it for free. They also can distance themselves from the influence of the zeitgeist of the music and have it stand on it's own merits, rather than the trend of the time. Also, some great music is still in production, if you scratch beneath the very surface veneer of the Top 40.

Pop songs come and go, and you probably don't/won't remember the shitty pop song that annoyed you to death when you were 13 unless you hear it again, but the "good" music stands the test of time.

Apart from a very select few, contemporary music is just boring. Popular music is just over commercialised garbage, and even then stuff you don't hear sucks. Modern rock is terrible. Good music isn't tattooed emo spastics screaming incoherent nonsense into a microphone.

When I hear Queen, my first instinct is to sing along triumphantly. When I hear Kanye, my first instinct is to turn the radio off. But lets forget about that second part for a minute... My roommate says exactly what I think you are trying to get at: that Kanye has deep, insightful and well thought out lyrics. Okay, lets roll with that and say he does for the sake of argument. But that is not what music is about. If I wanted to sit and mull over well thought out writing, be it poetic verse or prose, I would read some fucking literature or some well written poetry. When I listen to music, I want an instant emotional response brought on by some element of the music that is often not often come from the lyrics. If the song has great lyrics, cool. But that is simply the frosting, and the frosting does not a cake make. Queen does that better at stirring up emotions from the energy of the music than most, and most artists who are not rap artists do it better than Kanye.

Therefore, Kanye sucks as a musician.

hip hop was good in the early 2000's

...

Different things appeal to different people. This is okay.

they're both niggers

This isn't bait though. It's generally how I feel

In what universe are ignorant niggers considered more edgy than faggot musicians?

One of them is talking. The other is doing harmonic layers, complex chords with vocal multi tracking and backup singers, as well as making their own music, no samples.

Excuse me
