Should I major in Computer and Information Systems, Business Administration, or become an Electrician?

Should I major in Computer and Information Systems, Business Administration, or become an Electrician?

Which makes the most money?

who is that?

I would have thought Computer systems would be the most paid but up to you do some research.

Electrician with a shit tone of tax evasion

I'm a computer science student but I can't tell you which makes more money. I don't know

Jenna coleman

Electrician.
Get a trade while making money, move out and then if you want to go to college for something specific do it afterward.

You will have a career, no debt and freedom. College is only good right now if you've wanted to be a doctor since you were 3.

No to Computer Information Systems. I recently graduated with that degree. You have to keep in mind that IT is a service and even though it is a sought after service you are still limited in the amount you can make. Most jobs in IT ask for a Computer Science degree and I believe that a regular IT degree limits your potential jobs. Can't speak much for BA or Electrician.

Fuck all that. Audio programmer's are gold dust.

of those 3, Eletrician

work your way up to journeyman electrician. Make good money and I have never heard of a complaining electrician.

CIS and Business degrees are virtually worthless. Electrician all the way. Eventually work for yourself. Shit is cash...

Definitely become an Electrician, easy job and good pay

Depends on a country you're from, but being an electrician gives you pretty big and stable income, while computer systems or business administration have potential to be very profitable, but there's also a high chance of earning nothing

Ya, take it from the guy who can't spell tonne. Obviously BA is the most money if you arn't a low energy sperg.

Can't you do Software Development with CIS? Any job a CS major can do?

You can earn a shit ton of money from computer systems, but you have to be VERY good at it. The best thing out of those 3 would be electrician. Even if you're mediocre you're still earning some good money.

>Should I major in Computer and Information Systems, Business Administration, or become an Electrician?

Get a sales job selling luxury products to rich assholes. You'll make a ton of money if you have the right sleazeball personality.

Hey austin

It sounds like you are talking 2-year associate programs, right user? If so, anything with computers that is not networking/security, I recommend not trying to do so on a 2-year degree. Busness Administration is one of those things that looks good to employers from various areas, good if you want to be unspecialized and have opportunities to get in a company and move up. Being and electrician is something practical that will always be of use and what I would tend to recommend here if it's something you would want to do.

>Which makes the most money?
Business, IF you're at least going to the best business school in the state. Like the most popular state college's school of business is usually a good choice. If it's competitive to get in and you have to attend courses at the school for a couple years just to get *accepted* into the business program, that's a good business school.

Business is also the easiest degree that you can get that makes money. However, there are plenty of people with these degrees around and if you're an aspie that people don't like, it's probably not the job for you. Business management, first and foremost, requires people to like you. And contrary to popular belief if you're an odd flavor that people don't like when you're young, chances are that will not go away as you get older.

CIT and Electrician

Common choices for bright people that aren't the most socially competent. Go to a reputable school for this shit, not a 2 year degree mill but a 4 year university..

Those 2 year degrees, at best, might get you a start on some electrician apprentice program.... but the people that went to real 4 year universities will be the first choice.

Electrician will probably pay more and there's more jobs available for the amount of qualified people, it's also gonna be a somewhat physically demanding job. You'll have climb ladders, carry heavy shit, do mechanical type work on machines, etc.

Computer/IT guy type jobs are common. They don't pay anywhere near what they used to because the market is flooded with jobless people who have degrees for that job. Also, the pay for this type of work can be wildly inconsistent. There can be places that pay you 30k a year and places that pay 100k for the same job. You'll constantly have to be on the lookout for compnanies that pay properly to get a decent career going. This probably pays the least of the three.

Really? I've seen 2 year software dev exp. postings for like 135k

No the degrees are bachelors. only being an electrician would be 2 years

And furthermore, if you're talking a 2 year associates degree, go with Electrician or Computer/IT type work. A 2 year business degree might be more worthless than a women's studies degree.

I would strongly encourage you to go with a 4 year university over 2 year trade school. Anymore they cost about the same.

And even a 2 year program in electronics or computers will ONLY get your foot in the door with an entry level job in those fields (think like 13 an hour starting pay AT BEST). You will not start out as an electrician or the IT specialist for that company. You will be an electrician's apprentice (but once you finish the apprenticeship you should get paid well) or a drone in the IT department.

The 4 year programs from respected universities would allow you to start out as an electrician or the IT specialist for that compnay. Think something around 20 dollars starting pay.

I would go with the Administrative first.

But like many other anons pointed out, it's pretty much flooded and it shouldn't be your only option.

You are meant to have some leadership skills and develop them to become middly succesful.

All of those fields are flooded, but that doesn't mean you will have a problems landing a job, but it not guaranteed to be the best one either, the electrial and admin fields are the ones where you are more likely to have place to escalate if you aren't socially retard like pretty much everybody here.

Here's a good chart. Pay most attention to median mid-career, while it's not perfect metric, assuming you'll be median is the most reasonable.

Of course the numbers change if you go on to get an MBA, or graduate from an Ivy League school, but this is a generally good guide.

Hey Jenna

Because they are entry level, like pretty much every laboral school. Not sure if that's the right term since am not english native.

You should look what you really like doing.

On a side note, those who seek to give orders are prone to not be fit for it since they are must of the time full of themselves.

If you don't need to work yet you could enter a 4 or plus years degree in administration while getting some courses a technical field. Not sure how easy that is in the US.

If you are short of options get the admin license and run from there. You are likely to get an advantage to most people that don't get a degree or the ones that get a useless degree.

im 28, electrician in nyc for 9 years... started in small private non union shops, making 11-20$ an hour... got a job with the city 3 years ago and now making full scall of $50/h.... im postimg while at work currently. im civil sevice electrician in nyc. look up the salary, its public info

Well, if that's the case, I would recommend Computer Science over CIS. What you can do with a 4-year CS degree is very wide-ranging.

do you work high volage/outside/in dangerous conditions? pretty sure most electricians at 40+ do. how much do you make as an average apprentice electrician, is it usually pretty shit?

Become electrician. Start business. Profit.

Set up a meth lab, sale that shit. Import heroin, sale that shit. Admit you like dick, suck that shit. Have a good life.

I went the CIS route. Money is great. Not for everyone. CS is much more popular.

Kek do this, post updates and pics often

Electrician will make you the most within the next 5 years but you'll top out and Computer Systems will eventually make more. an undergrad in CS with a grad in BA is the best

Why do you want pics of OP sucking dick?

Fag.

Because it will make you nut, always thinking of you bruh

Why are you always thinking of me nutting?

Fag.

cisb is exploding right now but you cant just get a degree you need to know a little about data visualization

Cause you are always at the elementary school trying to get kids to help you with it

Im doing Computer and Information systems, then im going into cyber security

I'm a CIS grad with several years experience now. If you are serious about security, consider a CS degree. Knowledge of the most rudimentary levels of computing is all but required.

You also bang trannys and have 3 diseases

Im in my first year of University but i have placement offers in CS already

k

CS = Cock Sucker in your terms though

yeah man ill suck cock for that £60k/year

You mean k for kock

k

You already do

Counter-Strike is gonna hire you? Maybe to undercover work on HL3.

nah cock sucking society

You mean k for kock

ok

You mean OK for o'kock

nothing wrong with a big juicy black cock

0/10 did not laugh

2/2
Amount of numbers repeated, number of times.

Wasn't meant as a joke, was completely serious, as serious as your ass gape

we work on 480 motors and sometimes around 4160v... i got hired as a helper at 31/h but i needed 2 yrs to get that position. start from nothing and ue lookin at 14$/h but as u learn more u earb more... i think i have a great job. great benefits, 7am-230pm... i have a desk, shower locker ect.

You work on niggers that degrade you as well

Depends what you really want. I graduated with my CSIS degree and currently work as an IT Coordinator. I work 25 hours per week and make $25 an hour. Working part time but making full time wages has been an absolute dream and wouldnt change it for anything. Plus the 5 hours of a day i spend at work is 90% spent just chillin in the office.

as a computer specialist it is much easier to just start your own company and build something out... requires low budget

I feel like it's the opposite. You can find a lot more CS majors that can do IT and Networking than vice versa. A lot of it has to do with the fact that CS teaches you to think differently (logically) vs. IT which is more of a process oriented job. In other words IT teaches you how to do something, CS makes you understand; and when you understand how something works vs just how to use it, you are far more valuable as an employee

Being an electrician isn't a college degree. That said, understanding electricity WILL give you an advantage over the moron rednecks that litter the field IF you can keep up. I was an apprentice electrician for a year with almost no mechanical aptitude and could not keep up.

Not OP, is it really that hard. The mechanical part I mean.

As far as am concerned you just gotta make sure the flow of current flow never goes backward or through you so you don't accidentaly an hero.
