After the clusterfuck that was the Beatles album, we are going to be using a different claiming method this time. Pick a song that you want to cover from the list below, and email me at [email protected] with a rough timescale for when you will be able to finish it. If you simply claim a song in the thread but don't email, it will be ignored. This is because dozens of people drifted into the Beatles claiming thread, claimed a song, and then vanished forever. When songs are finished, they should be sent via email, not posted in the thread. This keeps an element of mystery about the final product.
Submission rules can be found in the first reply

>IF YOU CAN'T SING, ASK SOMEONE ELSE IN THE THREAD TO! Really want to push for strong vocals throughout on this project, so don't feel like you have to sing on your track if you don't feel comfortable doing so. There are plenty of good singers on this board who can help you out.
>This is a fairly serious project, and there will be quality control. Harsh noise won't be accepted, because fuck that shit. Please don't make your covers memey, I know there were a few on the Beatles one like that but I want this one to be a bit more serious.
>Poor audio quality will be rejected. By that I mean something like heavy background fuzz, don't worry if your recording equipment is not professional standard. Just listen to the Beatles album for acceptable sound quality. >Don't send me guerilla mail. I prefer if submissions are wav files but I don't mind converting them myself.
>It has to be an actual cover of the song, not just you saying "We can be heroes" into the mic once and then playing unrelated music you wrote yourself for 5 minutes. Reinterpretations are very welcome though, see Day Tripper or Paperback Writer from the Beatles album as examples.
>Collabs are also welcome, if you need someone to play bass or drums or whatever for you, just ask in the thread. People collaborated numerous times on the last album to great success.

This, but only because it's the best Bowie song and people are too intimidated to attempt it

Those harmonies would be hard. Not liking this hole "more serious" tone. The Beatles covers serious tone was natural man, don't force it, is still Sup Forums.
Kevin Russell
SONGS LEFT TO CLAIM:
The Laughing Gnome The Width Of A Circle The Bewlay Brothers Aladdin Sane Drive-In Saturday Sweet Thing suite Win Beauty And The Beast The Secret Life Of Arabia Strangers When We Meet Slow Burn
Inevitably I'm sure a few people won't deliver, it usually happens with a handful, so keep an eye out for any which become reavailable over the next few days. Also props to the guy who sent me his Moonage Daydream progress, sounds awesome.
Xavier Wright
The Beatles was itself a pretty serious album anyway though, besides the artwork and Revolution 9. Considerably more serious than most Sup Forums albums, that is.
Jason Price
You removed a song from the tracklist Dong Put it back there
Sebastian Rivera
Oh I think I misread your post. Either way I don't think we're taking it too seriously, we're just after a high quality of music if possible. Plenty of time for memeing around in the threads/stream
Bentley Martin
ITS SAFE IN THE CITY
Dylan Ross
fun fact, i sing that verse as a vocal exercise
Jason Thomas
His vocal range is pretty insane on that, I think I read it's something like the second-lowest note he ever sang at on record and then seconds later one of the highest. Pretty sure he wrote that verse with the sole intention of showing off, but it's great so who cares
Zachary Hernandez
don't be unfair - the range of the singing serves as a setting to the narrative

Reminder that the Beatles album is overrated trash
Adrian Hill
Okay guys I'm the user that's doing Rebel Rebel. Now do you know the mexican sounding melody sung before the verses in the U.S. radio version? Kinda goes La la la la la la la la la? I feel like using that vocal melody only before the second verse, but I want to know what you guys think first- I know that version of the song is shit, and I'm afraid people would be like "Eww, that's from THAT version of the song." Wat do?
>the Beatles album What 'Beatles album' you fucking sperg?
Eli Diaz
I may not be able to sing but you can't even read it seems
Kayden Morales
you're a fucking idiot. The Beatles album is even mentioned in the OP, you 'fucking sperg'
Easton Morris
>this new
James Barnes
No I realize it's been claimed, but I'm far better than whoever is covering it now. They should give it to me and pick another song.
Caleb Turner
>Reminder that the Beatles album is overrated trash Show me where this poorly constructed sentence mentions anything about the Sup Forums Beatles cover album, you smelly little cocksuckers.
Isaiah Wood
Was pretty clearly implied desu plus people had been discussing it already itt
Sebastian Hall
>clearly implied >clearly >implied

Such an asshole to whoever claimed it. How about you learn to wait and maybe ask to collaborate, instead?
Carson Kelly
Cringe
Levi Williams
This is America. The best person for the job should get it. I am better than whoever got the song, so they should do the right thing and hand it over.
Wyatt Jackson
