Is this a good movie?

Is this a good movie?

It's decent

it's the best martial arts movie ever made tbqh

Hell yes.
>the SWAT tactical porn
>Jakka vs. Mad Dog
>the drug room fight
>That ending tag team fight
>that soundtrack

OP here. I am going to watch it. Hope it doesn't suck.

It's to martial art movies what Fury Road was to car chases movies : a simple, strong concept and a level up. If you want to see fighting, you'll love it. Otherwise... eh.

Nah but it's a great flick.

Biggest mistake I ever made was watching the sequel before this. Now I can't watch it for fear of being disappointed.

Thought it would carpenterian siege kino... ended up with over the top kung fu...

I personally think the fight scenes are better in the first one just because everything is a bit more tight and enclosed. You'll likely still enjoy the first one if you liked the sequel

I found the second one better but note this is only me.
Its great for a fighting movie

Only if you watch it with the original director-approved score instead of the gay music by Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda which is in all the rips floating around.

>that soundtrack

Yeah bro, linkin park! Woo!

Good thing Sony changed the music for us Americans.

I watched the subbed version.

OP here. A seconds into the movie and I see its a dub. Where can I find the director approved score? or even the audio-file of the original language.

Thing is I didn't like the sequel. I rate it the best action movie since the Matrix. Easily top 3 all time.

And while the fights are phenomenal (and it bodes well that you think the 1st ones' are better) it's the little extra mile it goes in all the other non-fight action scenes, like the car chase or the shootout. Not to mention how beautifully it uses such varied sets & locations during the fights, like the WC, the yard, the kitchen, the inside of the car and so on.

Legitimately blew my shit, that movie.

The subbed version with music by Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda.

None of the rips have the original music.

I don't remember any singing or anything that was awful. The drug room fight music was pretty good.

The Blu-ray came with three audio tracks

English dub + Sony score
Original language + Sony score
Original language + original score

Sadly all the rippers decided to use the Sony score by Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda even with the original language track.

It's the best of its kind. There's just no competition here. But it's a specific kind of movie, and objectively not the greatest, so it's possible you'll hate it.

Fair enough, the first one has very little variety in terms of location which I think does let it down a bit, although they do tend to make good use of the layout of the rooms which keeps things interesting.
There are some tense non-fight scene moments but the first film seems to have much less plot than the sequel which could be a good or bad thing depending on taste.
I'd still recommend it, if you get past the 40 minute mark or so and you aren't feeling it there's not much point in continuing since it's much of the same from then on.

Get this release from HDB:

The.Raid.2011.1080p.Remux.AVC.FLAC.5.1-WYH.mkv

Everything else will be the bastardized audio from Sony pictures.

>jam a light bulb into a dude's neck
>he's not dead

>plebs don't even have the original cut with the original audio

Feels good to be elite.

What is HDB?

If you are talking about HDBits can you throw me an invite?

Sent ;)

>server volume too high

I bet the plebs in this thread think it's called The Raid: Redemption.

The original version is really hard to find. even when you search for Serbuan Maut. Isnt there like a piratebay.indonesia?

Serbuan maut isn't the original title.

The Raid is the original title. The writer/director is English.

You will have to get the remux from HDB or the BDMV if you want the original version.

>live in the UK
>all home releases are the original version
Thank you, momentum pictures

>The writer/director is English.
*Welsh

It's good, but nothing spectacular.
