You have to watch it on its terms for sure. Personally, I love it. It's disgusting in every sense. It's incredibly long, and close. It doesn't seem like anything is ever happening but it is. The atmophere is really engrossing. I would definitely recommend it

This alone cements it as patrician cinema.
da
I've had this on my watchlist for a while now
I don't know why but the screenshots I've seen remind me of Aguirre
it's on US netflix
i'm bummed the director's dead
in my head he's the director of a six-hour gravity's rainbow adaptation
Go away amaranth
Took me 3 sittings to watch an hour and a half, I've yet to complete it
was it good for the part you watched?
I didn't really enjoy it, there are a lot of scenes that stuck in my mind but I couldn't tell you what was going on
Wannabe kino but really shit. There's literally no plot.
yes, of course it's a classic.
I got about a 1/3 of the way through and saw how much I had left and lost all hope and had to turn it off
Pretty cool. Closest thing I've ever seen to a movie depiction of a fever dream. Like a demented nonsensical version of Andrei Rublev.

Not the one with Herzog? Its shit.
Shut up
Soviet scifi > Russian Scifi
Deal with it.
I really want to watch this but I feel like I owe it to the Strugatskys to read the book first but I know I'm probably never gonna get to the book so it's all fucked
