Brazilian
Visiting Uruguay this summer
Any tips?

Im from Uruguay, what are you looking for here?

Montevideo, for one week.
I'm looking for the underground stuff

good weed too

Best place to go party is Parque Rodó, I would recommend Lola Bar, also check on facebook for any event in Montevideo, you can probably find some parties here. Everybody smokes weed here so just talk with people if you go out and they'll eventually roll a joint and invite you. Then you can ask them to sell you or get you some.

Thanks man, what can you tell me about women? Not very different from Brazil, right?

Sorry for the hijack, american here, any advice on preparing to move to Uruguay?

Also, there's two types of weed here (probably jsut like in Brazil) the "prensado" or paraguayan and the "flor" or "cogollo".
The first one is the cheapest one, 1 gram is around $20 (uruguayan pesos) and it's shit. The flower is the most natural one and the most expensive, around $2500 for 25 grams and it's a little bit harder to get.

Just courios, any idea which area are you staying? Is this your first time in Uruguay? I remember driving a brazilian guy not too long ago while I was working for Uber, cool guy.

What are your reasons for moving to Uruguay and where are you from? I've been trying getting the fuck out of this shithole for years.

Are you planning on renting or buying a place here? How long are you staying?

I'm actually planning on working corporate Uber. Maybe a year or two, so renting.

Full of sluts just like everywhere else. Most pubs/bars are full of women, I would recommend you getting someone a little bit hippie and tell them that you're traveling around the world, they love that shit. The rich girls are a little bit harder to go by.

yea, the weed must be the same.
It's my first time visiting, I'm staying at "Nuevo Pocitos". Is it agood place to stay?

Corporate Uber? Can you give me any more details? Are you aware of the situation between Uber and the government here?

Are you coming alone? Renting an apartment here would cost around 12k uruguayan pesos, which is around $400. It really depends on the area too, cheapest you can get in a not so decent area would be around $200 a month. Electricity is expensive, water is cheap and food expensive. Clothes are a lot more expensive than the usa.

What's going on with the government?

Those prices aren't too bad. Montevideo sounds lovely

So leftist are a good idea? I'm looking for someone more "liberal" on facebook so they can show me the way to parties and stuff

Nuevo Pocitos is a really good area here in Montevideo, one of the most expensives actually. Almost bought an aparment there, like 50 meters from the Montevideo Shopping. If you want you can take a look at that area on google maps, there's a street named "Av. Luis Alberto de Herrera" that's full of really nice bars and it's really close to the mall which also has a casino in it.

The government didn't want Uber in the country because the company isn't paying any taxes here. Basically if a transit cop catches you driving while working for uber you're gonna a ticket for $1000 (dollars) and get your license plates removed. It is pretty hard to get evidence that someone is working for Uber but you know how cops are, especially when they threat you with sending you to jail if you don't confess. Also the taxi company owner here is friends with the actual government and they say that Uber is taking their jobs, so there has been a lot of fighting and incidents between taxi and uber drivers. That's part of why I'm saying this country is a shit hole. A lot of people actually support the taxi company even when their service is shit, they sell drugs, steal and rape women.

Wow sounds good! Have you heard about the brazilian politics lately? we are living in caos, expect brazilians coming over lol

Yeah, just go for the liberal girls or the foreign ones. Lately every time I go out I always bump into french, spaniard or venezuelan girls.

Typical.. did you like driving? I can handle government shit but I'd prefer not to be fucking over drivers in Uruguay

Yeah, I always talk with brazilian people while working and they kept telling me how the situation is even worst there. Hell, whole south america is going to shit.

Be right back, gonna smoke a cig.

Bump

I'm back.

I love driving and working for Uber, shit got a little tight lately so I'm not working at the moment. I love talking to people so I met a lot of interesting people while driving. Most passangers using Uber are pretty cool. I was one of the drivers with highest ranking here actually, always providing a good service.

Here's a picture I took in La Paloma a couple of years ago. Best beach I've seen here.

That's a lot far from Montevideo, right?

Not that far, maybe a 3 hour drive from Montevideo, totally worth it though. This one is from Piriapolis, a 1 1/2 hour drive.

Keep asking boys, what else do you guys want to know about Uruguay?

are museums and historical stuff worth seeing?

I've barely been into any museums here. Can recommend the Castillo Pittamiglio and the Museo Blanes. This one has a lot of story behind it, there was a girl who killed herself there and people say the place is haunted now. There's even a painting of her just as you walk into the museum, and she stares at you.

worth it
